연안류 추적 장치 개발 및 모형 실험 (Device Development for Longshore Current Measurement and Model Test)

  • Longshore current is main transportation mean causing movement of bed load and suspended particle in coastal waters, and effective measurement method and suitable equipment for shallow water coastal environment where is frequently exposed to atmosphere. Measurement equipment for longshore drift was designed and miniature model was applied to Gyeongpo beach in May and June, 2014. The equipment consists of three main elements, spheroid outer casing, spheroid inner casing, observation module equipped with GPS. Gyroscope principle was applied to observation module, and GPS receiver always can be directed upwards. Miniature models were installed along Gyeonpo beach, and it was well to track the flow of longshore current. This research described the design and function of the equipment and results of field experiments.

소형 가스엔진 열병합발전의 운전거동 예측을 위한 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션 (Computer Simulation to Predict Operating Behavior of a Gas Engine Driven Micro Combined Heat and Power System)

  • The present study developed a computer simulation program to determine the optimum strategy and capacity of a micro combined heat and power(CHP) system. This simulation program considered a part-load electrical/thermal efficiency and transient response characteristics of CHP unit. The result obtained from the simulation was compared with the actual operation of 30 kW gas engine driven micro CHP system. It was found that the simulation could reproduce the daily operation behavior, such as operating hours and mean load factor, closely to the actual behavior of the system and could predict the amount of electrical/thermal output and fuel consumption with the error of less than 12%.

좌굴을 고려한 적층 복합재 구조의 강건 최적설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on Robust Optimal Design of Laminated Composite Structures with Buckling Constraints)

  • A robust optimization procedure is applied to determine the design of the laminated composite plates with buckling constraints. In order to investigate the variation effect to the whole performance of a structure, both design variables and system parameters are assumed as random variables about their nominal values. The robust optimization method has advantages that the mean value and the variation of the performance function are controlled simultaneously and the second order sensitivity information is not required. Considering the information of uncertainty, robust optima for the buckling load of the laminated composite plates with cut-out is obtained. The robustness of the structures is compared to that of the deterministic optimization using scaling factors.

  • Faults on power systems are inevitable phenomena. These faults can be classified by two categories, temporary and permanent faults. Without distinction of fault types, the faults would induce several changes on power system such as transmission line trip. Especially, the most common phenomena which loads experience by the power system fault is voltage sag. Voltage sags mean that the bus voltage maintains under 0.9 p.u. of rating for several cycles, and they give serious effects to operation of load devices. To ensure proper operation of the load, the flywheel systems, one of the energy storage system, are suggested in this paper. This paper demonstrates the efficiency of flywheel energy storage system against voltage sag by PSCAD/EMTDC simulation.

콘 형상 실린더의 축 방향 압축변형을 이용한 충격흡수장치 설계 (Design of Energy Absorption Device Using the Axial Crushing Behavior of Truncated Cone Type Cylinder)

  • A brake device for the high-speed impacting object is designed using an axial crushing of thin-walled metal cylinder. Thickness of the cylinder is increased smoothly from the impacting end to the fixed end, resulting in the truncated cone shape. Truncated cone shape minimizes the imperfection-sensitivity of the structure and ensures that plastic hinges are formed sequentially from impacting end. This prevents the undesirable sudden rise in the first peak-crushing load. Several specimens with different conic angles, mean thickness of the wall, and materials were designed and quasi-static compression tests were performed on them. Results indicate that adoption of appropriate conic angle prevents simultaneous wrinkles generation and sudden rise of crushing load and that appropriate conic angle differs in each case, depending on the geometry and material property of the cylinder. Finite element analysis was performed for static compression of the cylinder and its accuracy was checked for the future application.

평행부를 갖는 링 시험편의 인장특성 고찰 (A Study on the Tensile Property of Ring Specimen Having Gauge Length)

  • In this study, we tried to establish the method of evaluating the tensile properties of the ring specimen of Arsene which have gauge length. In this result, we verified the availability of central piece. We made ring specimens and devices such as central piece, pins, and clevises. A proper tensile speed was determined by pre-test. The result of main test was calibrated and compared with the result of FEM. To obtain the tensile properties from the ring test result, we observed two relationships: one is strain-displacement and the other is load ratio-displacement. The tensile properties could be evaluated by using these relationships.

  • Analyzed Parametrically was an internal combustion engine combined with gas turbine the cycle of which is splitted into compression side cylinder and expansion side one, and heat adding of which is during constant volume pressure, temperature process. The advantages of each measures were analyzed by means of thermal cycle diagram. The thermal efficiency of partial load cutting off firstly isothermal heat adding and secondly isobaric heat adding also was analyzed The authors suggested some potentials about the performance as for thermal efficiency, mean effective pressure and reducing emissions and noise supposed were the operating parameter of the engine set to some values and were some problems solved.

  • Fatigue strength evaluation was carried out for the core support structure of a low voltage circuit breaker. The impact load acting on the core support was calculated based on the strains measured during operation. A three-dimensional finite element analysis was performed to determine local peak stresses for fatigue evaluation. Fatigue safety factors were calculated using the modified Goodman, Gerber, Soderberg, and modified Findley lines, considering the magnitude of the residual stress and impact load.

  • The objective of this paper is to introduce the standard of evaluation methods and fatigue test for linear motion rolling bearing. In particular, attention well be given to the list of evaluation and fatigue results in this paper. The life of a linear motion rolling bearing is given by the length of distance covered between the connection parts before the first evidence of fatigue develops in the material of one of the raceways of rolling elements. The main factors that contribute to fatigue failures include: Number of load cycles experienced; Range of stress experienced in each load cycle; Mean stress experienced in each toad cycle; Presence of local stress concentrations.

  • It is common to assume identical allowable safety factors in static strength defined by mean stress and in fatigue, defined by stress amplitude. Under the load with asymmetrical cycles the safety factor is not the same. In this paper, with the consideration of unequal allowable safety (actors a general method for estimating fatigue reliability of a machine element under a combined state of stress is derived based on the theory proposed by Prof. Kececioglu and a normal distribution. The calculation of fatigue reliability fur limited life is discussed with example.
