This is a case report and review of literature that deal with a surgical correction of mandibular deficiency. Patient, 38 years old male, had visited to treat mandibular deficiency. On the basis of clinical and radiographic examination, he was diagnosed as a micrognathia. Surgical method. 1. Intraoral Bilateral sagittal split osteotomy 2. Augmentation of genioplasty - double step. Patient was satisfied with final esthetics by gnathosurgery.

It is very difficult to differentiate the malignant tumor from the maxillofacial infections that have unclear cause, severe indurated swelling, pain and nonresponsiveness to antibioitic treatment and incision and drainage. Incisional biopsy, CT, and MRI examination may not distinguish between infection and a malignant tumors. And then, the clinicians can make a mistake that they perform a unnecessary radical surgery because of inaccurate diagnosis. We present three case reports of maxillofacial infectious disease with diagnosis process, treatment and differential diagnosis. The infectious disease were not resolved with antibiotic and surgical drainage. The progression of clinical sign and radiographic, indings of these disease were masqueraded as malignant tumors.

Sodium hydroxide or caustic soda is a corrosive agent that can cause extensive damage to the oral mucosa, lips, and tongue when ingested either accidentally or intentionally. These injuries include microstomia, shallow vestibule, ankyloglossia, speech impairment, loss of teeth and impairment in facial expression. In the present article, we report a unique case of tongue adhesion to the mouth floor and its surgical management in a 66-year-old female patient, who had a history of caustic soda ingestion.
