A new cultivar of Euphorbia milii, 'Panorama' was developed at Cactus Research Institute, Gyeonggi-do Agricultural Research & Extension Services in 2009. 'Gabi' and 'Maxi' were crossed in 2001 and three $F_1$ seedlings were obtained. Pedigree selection was performed in 2002. One line was finally selected and named as 'Panorama' through the test of specific character from 2007 to 2009. The new cultivar 'Panorama' has green and pink colored bract, and it has 2~3 each of inflorescence number, 2.0 cm of bract width, 4.3 each of lateral shoot and 14.9 cm of plant height. Characters of the cultivar can be maintained by vegetative propagation.
The purpose of this study is to perform research of ecology concepts expressed in fashion and to propose a new ecology fashion design based on the results. As a specific research method, first, to determine the concept of ecology, the contents related to ecology were extracted and organized through literature research, and then a fashion collection research was conducted to acquire basic design data, such as silhouettes, materials, details, and colors. From WGSN, and a total of 57 images were selected and used as basic data for the design suggestions. As a result of collecting the collection images, it was found that cotton or denim fabrics were mainly used, and in particular, the frequency of use was high mainly for bright tones. The use of chambray, lace, and wrinkles, was also frequent, and the use of expression techniques using burn-out, bleach, and bleaching effects or parts, or entire dyeing was often noticeable. The colors showed neutral and pastel-toned characteristics, and the silhouette was mainly composed of long silhouettes centered on maxi, such as a top or calf based on the knee, rather than a mini. Fabrics for the final designs were linen and sappan wood, and they were used for the dye and red was used as the overall color. The silhouettes were simplified, and care was taken to prevent unnecessary waste, such as paper or materials, from being generated during the production stage. We tried to achieve the purpose of eco-logy by refraining from excessive trimming, except for essential subsidiary materials, such as zippers.
Photovoltaics (PV) power generation efficiency is affected by meteorological factors such as temperature and wind speed. In general, it is known that the power generation amount decreases because photovoltaics panel temperature rises and the power generation efficiency decreases in summer. Photovoltaics Thermal (PVT) power generation has the ad-vantage of being able to produce heat together with power, as well as preventing the reduction in power generation efficien-cy and output due to the temperature rise of the panel. In this study, the amount of heat collected by season and time was calculated for photovoltaics thermal modules using the International Weather for Energy Calculations (IWEC) data provided by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). Based on this, we propose a method of predicting the temperature of the photovoltaics panel using thermal analysis and then calculating the flow rate of coolant to improve power generation efficiency. As the results, the photovoltaics efficiencies versus time on January, April, July, and October in Jeju of the Republic of Korea were calculated to the range of 15.06% to 17.83%, and the maxi-mum cooling load and flow rate for the photovoltaics thermal module were calculated to 121.16 W and 45 cc/min, respec-tively. Though this study, it could be concluded that the photovoltaics thermal system can be composed of up to 53 modules with targeting the Jeju, since the maximum capacity of the coolant circulation pump of the photovoltaics thermal system applied in this study is 2,400 cc/min.
Nowadays, most big hospitals have a computer system to manage their administration. For maxi mum effectiveness in managing the computer system, an analysis of the variables affecting its implementation is necessary from the beginning. This study was done to analyze the variables influencing the operation of a hospital information system (HIS). The theoretical base for this study considered the combined effects of user expectations of computerization, and computer-anxiety. The relationship between variables in the theoretical base were analyzed and the individual characteristics influencing each variable were also analyzed. This study was done in two steps. First, 344 nurses were given an initial questionnaire developed to evaluate the reliability of the items. Based on the results, a second revised questionnaire was administered to 88 nurses who had been working in the areas where HIS was applied. The results of the first and second steps of the study are as follows 1. The initial study was done with nurses who were trained on the computer system briefly before HIS was implemented. The individual characteristics influencing computer anxiety and expectation regarding computer system usage in that initial study included, length of career, type of degree or certification, previous experiences with a computer, training on a computer, desire for computer training, and level of acceptance of a computerized work environment. But in the second study with nurses working in areas of the hospital where HIS was introduced, the work site was the only influencing characteristics. There-fore, in applying a computer system, overcoming work-environment barriers will be more import-ant than any individual characteristics. 2. The computer anxiety of the nurses in both groups, before and after the computer system ap-plication, was below the average level but the expectation of the effects of computerization was above average. The nurses using the computer program showed an above average level of satis-faction with the computer system itself, and with its effect on their efficiency. Therefore, the ability of nurses operating HIS will be positively. predictive. 3. For the variables included in the theoretical framework of the study, all of the correlational coefficients were statistically significant in the analysis of variation correlation. Therefore, the theoretical base of the study, "expectation in con junction with computer anxiety" can be considered an model which can be evaluated. Accord-ing to our analysis, the higher the level of nurses' motivation to use the computer system and the lower the anxiety about computer usage, the higher the possibility of computer system acceptance by nurses. The results of this study showed that in applying a computer system in the hospital, the main characteristic influencing acceptance was where the individual worked rather than personal characteristics such as length of career, type of degree or certification, and previous experiences with a computer. Therefore, it is suggested that the first step in uncovering and eliminating hindrance factors in ap-plication of a computer system should be an analysis of working conditions in relation to the functional content of the computer system. The suitability of the theoretical model based on the hypothesis ap-plied in this study should be further tested.

The aim of this study was to overcome some of the limiting factors that the maxi cryopreservation straw of 5 ml presents in processing boar semen. Cryopreservation of semen samples was conducted in 0.5 ml and 5.0 ml straws at two freezing rates: -140℃ in 8 minutes and 30 seconds (FR-1) and -140℃ in 14 minutes (FR-2). The straws were then thawed and the semen parameters were compared by Computer Assisted Sperm Analysis, and sperm morphology and acrosome status were examined by Coomassie blue staining. The effects of different thawing temperatures and durations were also compared, namely 37℃ for 115 sec, 50℃ for 45 sec, or 70℃ for 25 sec. In general, the FR-1 group showed higher (p<0.05) sperm viability and motility than the FR-2 group in the 5.0 ml straws. Compared to other ranges, thawing at 50℃ for 45 sec showed the highest sperm viability and motility (68.4±3.6% and 69.5±2.2%, p<0.05), suggesting that thawing temperature should be adjusted concurrently with freezing rate. Sperm morphology and acrosome integrity did not significantly differ among the groups (p>0.05). The data obtained in this study suggest that improving the freezing-thawing protocol for one artificial insemination dose straws (5.0 ml) retains the sperm's parameters from 0.5 ml cryopreservation, and is more convenient to handle, which could result in enhanced reproductive performance.
This experiment was carried out to investigate the major characters affecting the popping volume of popcorn. Tuygimok 1 (Kp1 ${\times}$ Kp2) and 8 popcorn hybrids' agronomic characters were tested to evaluate a certain extent how much they affect on the popping volume. Moisture con-tent was considered as the most important factor, but failed to evaluate the optimum moisture con-tent level in this experiment moisture range (12.2-14.4%) because popping volume increased as moisture content of kernels increased. The maximum popping volume was obtained at 55-60kg of kernel hardness, 80-90,um of pericarp thickness and 45-50% of S/H (Soft/Hard starch). But the Em/En(Embryo/Endosperm) ratio was negatively associated with the popping volume. Therefore the minimum popping volume was observed at the 10-11 % of Em/En ratio. Moisture content, hardness, pericarp thickness, Em/En and S/H ratio were selected as the appropriate variables for the maxi-mum popping volume using the stepwise forward regression method and the expecting popping volume was estimated by the multiple linear regression formular. The mean popping volume of ninepopcorn hybrids was about 29.2cm3/g.
We constructed a defined physical and genetic map of H. pylori strain 51, previously isolated from a Korean patient with a duodenal ulcer, by combining a restriction analysis by pulse-field gel electrophoresis with the construction of a BAC library. A Notl-digest of H. pylori strain 51 genome yielded seven fragments, from which the genomic size was estimated to be 1,698$\pm$24 kb. The BAC library was constructed from 50 to 200 kb fragments of HindIII-digested genomic DNA. From 700 BAC clones, an ordered overlapping maxi-set of 82 BAC clones was assembled that covered the entire genome. The positions of 15 genes were localized in the strain 51 genome with 4-22 kb of resolution and were compared with their orthologues in strain 26695 and strain J99. The arrangement of the 15 genes was identical in strain 51 and strain J99, except for flaA and hpaA. The plasticity zone of strain 51, like that of strain J99, was located in the single region, and was shorter than those of strain 26695 and strain J99. The strain 51 plasticity zone consisted of ORFs common only to strain 51 and J99 or to strain 51 and 26695, as well as strain 51-specific ORFs. Three genetic translocations and/or inversions were found between orthologue ORFs in strain 51 and strain J99. These results show that the chromosomal organization of strain 51 differs from Western strains such as strain 26695 and strain J99.
Introduction. In this study, we applied the immediate loading to implant using temporary prosthesis, and compared the treatment results by each placement site, amongst pre-loading period. The study was intended to search for occurrence of complications and the amount of marginal bone resorption. Materials and Methods. We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of 99 cases of implants from 29 patients who were treated at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital from September 2003 to September 2008. We grouped all the cases by placement arches and pre-loading periods, and subdivided each group by placement site(anterior/posterior), type of prosthesis(full-mouth cross splinting/Partial multiple splinting, Single). Results. In the cases of anterior maxilla, the average amounts of marginal bone resorption showed $1.71{\pm}0.71mm$ in group 1, and $1.44{\pm}0.69mm$ in group 2, which means they revealed no statistically significant difference between group 1 and group 2(p=0.646). In the cases of posterior maxilla, the average amounts of marginal bone resorption showed $1.25{\pm}0.72mm$ in group 1, and $1.14{\pm}1.15mm$ in group 2, which means they were not statistically significant. In the cases of anterior mandible, there was no cases classified as group 4, but the average amounts of marginal bone resorption in group 3 showed $1.38{\pm}0.79mm$. In the cases of posterior mandible, Group 3 showed $1.39{\pm}0.64mm$, and group 4 showed $1.84{\pm}1.19mm$ as amounts of marginal bone resorption, which means they revealed no statistically significant difference between group 3 and group 4(P=0.210). The survival rate of group1 was 97.14%, 92.1% of group3, and 100% of group 2 and group4. According to each type of prosthesis, each average amount of marginal bone resorption revealed no statistically significant difference in maxi11a(p=0.575) in mandible(p=0.206). Conclusion. It is concluded that the marginal bone resorption and the rate of complications might not be affected by placement sites and pre-loading periods. The marginal bone resorption and the rate of complications might vary as different bone quality of placement site and implant system, diameter, length, etc. It is suggested that the proper placement of immediate loading implants decreases the whole treatment period and any inconvenience occurred to patients.
This study was carried out to compare the semen characteristics, frozen-thawed sperm viability and testosterone concentration and in vitro fertilization (IVF) and development of in vitro matured pig oocytes between two Yorkshire boars. Semen and blood samples were collected once per week from October to November 2002 from two adult Yorkshire boars at 18 months of age with 170 kg body weight. Sperm were deep frozen in 5 ml maxi-straws with lactose-egg yolk and N-acetyl-D-glucosamine (LEN) diluent and stored in liquid nitrogen. Blood samples were obtained at 10 a.m. by inserting a 21 gauge, hypodermic needle attached to 10 ml syringe into surface veins in the ear. The concentration of testosterone was determined by Competitive Enzyme Immunoassay. Ovaries were collected from prepubertal gilts at a local slaughter house. Cumulus oocyte complexes were aspirated from antral follicles (3 to 6 mm in diameter). The medium used for oocyte maturation was modified TCM 199. After about 22 h of culture, oocytes were cultured without cysteamine and hormones for 22 h at $38.5^{\circ}C$, 5% $CO_2$ in air. For IVF, one frozen 5 ml straw was thawed at $52^{\circ}C$in 40 sec and was diluted with 20 ml Beltsville thawing solution at room temperature. Sperm were washed 2 times in mTLP-PVA and inseminated without preincubation after thawing. Oocytes were inseminated with $2{\times}10^7$/ml sperm concentration. Oocytes were coincubated for 6 h in 500 ${\mu}$l mTBM fertilization medium. At 6 h after IVF, oocytes were transferred into 500 ${\mu}$l NCSU-23 culture medium for further culture of 48 and 144 h. There were no significant differences in the semen volume, motility, normal acrosome morphology and sperm concentration of raw semen between A and B of Yorkshire boar. However, motility and normal acrosome of boar A were higher than those of boar B at 0.5, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 h incubations of frozen-thawed sperm. Testosterone concentration (3.75 ng/ml) of boar A was higher than that (2.34 ng/ml) of boar B. The rate of blastocyst formation (15.1%) of boar A was higher than that (10.4%) of boar B. In conclusion, serum testosterone concentration of boar showed very important role for the frozen-thawed sperm viability and the blastocyst formation of pig oocytes matured in vitro.
The characteristics of 23 MV photon beam have been presented with respect to clinical parameters of central axis depth dose, tissue-maxi mum ratios, scatter-maximum ratios, surface dose and scatter correction factors. The nominal accelerating potential was found to be $18.5\pm0.5$ MV on the central axis. The half-value layer (HVL) of this photon beam was measured with narrow beam geometry from central axis, and it has been showed the thickness of $24.5\;g/cm^2$. The tissue-maximum ratio values have been determined from measured percentage depth dose data. In our experimental dosimetry, the surface dose of maximum showed only $9.6\%$ of maximum dose at $10\times10\;cm^2$, 100 cm SSD, without blocking tray in. The TMR'S of $0\times0$ field size have been determined to get average $2.3\%$ uncertainties from three different methodis; are zero effective attenuation coefficient, non-ilnear least square fit of TMR's data and effective linear attenuation coefficient from the HVL of 23 MV photon beams of dual energy linear accelerator.
