Related with the mathematics gifted children the situation of different case studies is the research which is limited in mathematics problem solving process of the most mathematics gifted children. The research which it sees hereupon observes from the scope which is wider the quality of the mathematics gifted children, before the hazard mathematics gifted children whom it sees enter into the mathematics gifted children education center unit life and life after studying living and dismissal of a class from the general school, namely for their general life it leads compared to attitude it observes the reporter it does a quality. For a what kind of interest in the mathematics gifted children, the research leads the family or general class, from the gifted children education center it has it considers encouragement, map and to give a help to good mathematics gifted children education activation, it does. It will reach and to respect with afterwards it set a same three research problem. First, before entering into the mathematics gifted children education center, are the mathematics gifted children what kind of quality? Second, Are the mathematics gifted children what kind of quality for general school hour? Third, Are the mathematics gifted children what kind of quality after dismissal of a class after hour? Being selected in the hazard gifted children education center which solves an up research problem, simple characteristic and approach ease characteristic, by the condition of the permission possibility back it selected 2 person gifted children school boxes which are coming and going. And, before entering into these mathematics gifted children education center, studying life from the general school, life after dismissal of a class it will extend at 1 years, various recording it will ask and it collected direct observation and interview it led against their quality it analyzed. It shared the result which it analyzes with emotional quality, studying conduct qualities, general qualities of the mathematics gifted children and qualities of mathematics gifted children parents. Studies level of the mathematics gifted children parents high facility when them are young from, the interest and helping out which it has were considerable, to advance with the direction where in order for always with great disaster them are proper the map it did. In general quality of the mathematics gifted children from young age the ability which finds a language and a possibility concept superiorly the ability which expresses the thought of oneself logically was superior, the competitive spirit was high, it liked it came reading, a leader role, to reveal a deepening school with the fact that it comes and goes. Also it will burn with their studying conduct quality and it will roll and it did deeply and it arranged knot eagerly, accomplishing which is superior from the field which is various it showed, the originality was superior, the subject attachment power was high quite, oneself it studies it has a devotion the possibility of knowing it was. And, the social characteristic of the friends and is good with their emotional quality and it does there is own reflection and an encouragement at any time and also a confidence, but just as good as the stress also it receives the possibility of knowing it was to him.
The purpose of this study is to propose issues in selecting gifted children in mathematics by in-depth analysis of the selection process and items. In order to accomplish the purpose, the rate of right and wrong answers were examined based on the reaction of the students by 1st, 2nd and 3rd selection test. Also, the types of the errors were identified for the 2nd and 3rd selection test. According to the study results, the rate of right answers was low in short response questions and essay questions rather than in multiple-choice questions. In addition, the academic achievements were lower in the fields other than number & operations and logic. The conclusion of this study is that following studies regarding selection of gifted children are required linked with the project tasks and programs.
The purposes of the study are to recognize importance of motivation in math education and to increase interest in students' motivation problem by comparing math motivation between mathematically gifted and non-gifted 5th graders based on Keller's ARCS theory and analyzing correlations between math motivation, mathematically affective characteristics and mathematical achievements. For this purpose, 436 students who were mathematically gifted and non-gifted 5th grade students were asked to take questionnaires and test to measure math motivation, mathematically affective characteristics and mathematical achievements. After analyzing the data, there are statistically differences in three educational factors between two groups. In addition, there are correlations between three educational factors. This study revealed that highly motivated students showed positive mathematically affective characteristics and high mathematical achievements. As results indicate that motivation could be a crucial factor in learning, teachers should consider motivation strategy to plan students' lessons regarding to learners' giftedness.
The purpose of this study is to build an instruction method focused on the mathematical process and apply it to 12, 5-year-olds from Kindergarten located in Seoul with a view to explore the changes in their mathematical thinking. In addition, surveys with parents and teachers, as well as those conducted in the field of early childhood education, were conducted to analyze the current situation. The effects focused on the five mathematical processes, namely problem solving, reasoning and proof, connecting, representing and communication was found to help the interactions between teacher-child and child-child stimulate the mathematical thinking of the children and induce changes. The mathematical process-focused instruction aimed to advance mathematical thinking internalized mathematical knowledge, presented an integrated problematic situation, and empathized the mathematical process, which enabled the children to solve the problem by working together with peers. As such, the mathematical thinking of the children was integrated and developed within the process of a positive change in the mathematical attitude in which mathematical knowledge is internalized through mathematical process.
Blackout game on a certain size of the Go table, which looks simple, involves a variety of mathematical modeling. This study uses a research and education method. While the mathematically gifted students were playing blackout game, the author, as the instructor, observed the ways in which they approached various mathematical models. Based on the data, this study examines the effects of blackout game on the children's cognitive processes. This study further discusses the issues of questions.
The Skeleton Tower problem is an example of a curriculum that integrates algebra and geometry. Finding the number of the cubes in the tower can be approached in more than one way, such as counting arithmetically, drawing geometric diagrams, enumerating various possibilities or rules, or using algebraic equations, which makes the tasks accessible to students with varied prior knowledge and experience. So, it will be a good topic which can be used in the elementary grades if we exclude the method of using algebraic equations. The purpose of this paper is to propose some points which can be considered with attention by gifted children education teachers by analyzing the 4th Skeleton Tower problem solutions made by 3rd and 4th graders in their selection test who applied for the education of gifted children in math at J University for the year of 2010.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between thinking styles and the components of mathematical ability of elementary math gifted children. The results of this study were as follows: First, there were differences in thinking styles: The gifted students prefer legislative, judical, hierarchic, global, internal and liberal thinking styles. General students prefer oligarchic and conservative thinking styles. Second, there were differences in components of mathematical ability: The gifted students scored high in all sections. And if when they scored high in one section, then they most likely scored high in the other sections as well. But the spacial related lowly to the generalization and memorization. There is no significant relationship between memorization and calculation Third, there was a correlation between thinking styles and components of mathematical ability: Some thinking styles were related to components of mathematical ability. In functions of thinking styles, legislative style have higher effect on calculation. And executive, judical styles related negatively to the inference ability. In forms of thinking styles monarchic style had higher effect on space ability, hierarchic style had higher effect on calculation. Monarchic, hierarchic styles related negatively to inference ability. In level of thinking styles global, local styles have higher effect on calculation. Local styles related negatively to the inference ability. In the scope of thinking styles, internal style had a higher effect on generalization, and external style had a higher effect on calculation. And there is no significant relationship leaning of thinking styles.

As it is not long since the gifted education was implemented in elementary school, it is necessary to accumulate the practical studies on the mathematically gifted education. This paper focused on enhancing creativity by providing the various and divergent thinking activities for mathematically gifted students. For this purpose, I prepared two mathematics problems, and , and let the mathematically gifted 5th grade students solve them. After that, I investigated to analyse their reactions in detail and tried to find the methods for assessing their divergent products. Finally, I found that they could pose various and meaningful calculating equations and also identify the various relations between two numbers. I expect that accumulating these kinds of practical studies will contribute to the developments of gifted education, in particular, instructions, assessments, and curriculum developments for the mathematically gifted students in elementary schools.

Growing in its size, the contents of the teaching-learning programs for mathematically gifted children from A program in Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education were examined in terms of the individual subjects provided through the courses of gifted education programs, and it was evaluated based on the revised version of the existing module. As a result, the educational objectives of teaching-learning program were clear, differentiated and obtainable. Among the program, the advanced parts were more than the selective parts, which mainly consisted of numbers and calculation, shapes, regularity and problem solving parts and had latest contents of research in balance. Additionally, every part of the program needs mathematical and creative thinking and approach and has proper evaluation index for problem solving. The presented materials in the programs are specific and appropriate, though some of them did not suggest the evaluation index for cultivating personality and value clearly and the reference books. The teaching-learning programs were focusing on problem-based learning and cooperative learning and using performance assessment for evaluation.
It is not too much to say that problem solving is still the focus of school mathematics though the trend of mathematics education for ten year from the one of 1980 is problem solving and the one of mathematics education for ten year from the one of 1990 is standards and constructivism. There are so many crucial clues or methods in good problem solving but I think that one of them is a representation. So, the purpose of this study is to investigate what is the meaning of representation in general and why representation is so important in elementary mathematics learning, Moreover, I have analyzed the gifted children's thinking of representation which is appeared in the previous internet home task of 40 gifted children who are selected through the examination of 1st, 2nd with paper and pencil and 3rd with practical skill and interview and finally I have presented some examples of children's representation how they use representation to model, investigate and understand special concept more easily in elementary school mathematics class.
