  • In this paper we continue the study of formation radical (F-radical) classes initiated in [3]. Hereditary and stronger properties of F-radical classes are discussed by giving construction for lower hereditary, lower stronger and lower strongly hereditary F-radical classes containing a given class M. It is shown that the Baer F-radical B is the lower strongly hereditary F-radical class containing the class of all nilpotent ideals and it is the upper radical class with $\{(I,\;N){\mid}N{\in}C,\;N\;is\;prime\}{\subset}SB$ where SB denotes the semisimple F-radical class of B and C is an arbitrary but fixed class of homomorphically closed near-rings. The existence of a largest F-radical class contained in a given class is examined using the concept of complementary F-radical introduced by Scott [5].

  • We adapt the concept of shrinking projection method of Takahashi et al. [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 341(2008), 276-286] to the iteration scheme studied by Kim and Lee [Kyungpook Math. J. 48(2008), 685-703] for two relatively weak nonexpansive mappings. By letting one of the two mappings be the identity mapping, we also obtain strong convergence theorems for a single mapping with two types of computational errors. Finally, we improve Kim and Lee's convergence theorem in the sense that the same conclusion still holds without the uniform continuity of mappings as was the case in their result.

  • The purpose of this paper is to introduce the concept of strongly extending modules which are particular subclass of the class of extending modules, and study some basic properties of this new class of modules. A module M is called strongly extending if each submodule of M is essential in a fully invariant direct summand of M. In this paper we examine the behavior of the class of strongly extending modules with respect to the preservation of this property in direct summands and direct sums and give some properties of these modules, for instance, strongly summand intersection property and weakly co-Hopfian property. Also such modules are characterized over commutative Dedekind domains.

  • In this paper, we generalize the concept of deferred density to that of deferred f-density, where f is an unbounded modulus and introduce a new non-matrix convergence method, namely deferred f-statistical convergence or $S^f_{p,q}$-convergence. Apart from studying the $K{\ddot{o}}the$-Toeplitz duals of $S^f_{p,q}$, the space of deferred f-statistically convergent sequences, a decomposition theorem is also established. We also introduce a notion of strongly deferred $Ces{\grave{a}}ro$ summable sequences defined by modulus f and investigate the relationship between deferred f-statistical convergence and strongly deferred $Ces{\grave{a}}ro$ summable sequences defined by f.

  • A. Bejancu [2] was the first who instigated the new concept in differential geometry, i.e., CR-submanifolds. On the other hand, CR-submanifolds were generalized by B. Y. Chen [7] as slant submanifolds. Further, he gave the notion of a Kaehlerian slant submanifold as a proper slant submanifold. This article has two objectives. For the first objective, we derive Simons' type formula for a minimal Kaehlerian slant submanifold in a complex space form. Then, by applying this formula, we give a complete classification of a minimal Kaehlerian slant submanifold in a complex space form and also obtain its some immediate consequences. The second objective is to prove some results about semi-parallel submanifolds.

  • In this paper we consider the concurrent spare part(CSP) requirements problem of new equipment system. When a part fails, the part is replaced and the repair of failed part is impossible and cannibalization is allowed. We assume that the failure of a part knows a Poisson process. The operational availability concept in CSP is defined, and derive a formula to calculate the operational availability using expected machine operating time during CSP period. A mathematical model is derived for making an CSP requirement determination subject to the constraint of satisfying any given operational availability limitation and an heuristic solution search procedure is derived. An illustrative example is shown to explain the solution procedure.

  • This paper deals with the method of self-equilibrium stress mode analysis of cable dome structures. From the point of view of analysis, cable dome structure is a kind of unstable truss structure which is stabilized by means of introduction of prestressing. The prestress must be introduced according to a specific proportion among different structural member and it is determined by an analysis called self-equilibrium stress mode analysis. The mathematical equation involved in the self-equilibrium stress mode analysis is a system of linear equations which can be solved numerically by adopting the concept of Moore-Penrose generalized inverse. The calculation of the generalized inverse is carried out by rank factorization method. This method involves a parameter called epsilon which plays a critical role in self-equilibrium stress mode analysis. It is thus of interest to investigate the range of epsilon which produces consistent solution during the analysis of self-equilibrium stress mode.

  • In the weapon system development/operation stage, the goals of RAM activities are to support the cost effective performance optimization in design and operation supports. In the study, the main contents are as follows; 1) To establish the operational concept and circumstance of the subsequent tank, the combat/operation scenario, the operational mode summary and mission profile for subsequent tank development are analyzed. 2) To evaluate the administrative and logistics down time for subsequent tank, the prefigured logistics circumstance and maintenance system are analyzed. 3) To calculate the RAM object values, a mathematical model for the user are developed. 4) To examinate the propriety of the RAM object values, the combat readiness are reviewed. The obtained RAM object values are provided to predict and analyze for the combat readiness, staying power, mission reliability, equipment availability and the logistic support capability.

  • In the present study, irregular disturbances to ship dynamics is proposed, where irregular disturbances implying irregular wave and the fluctuating component of wind for the evaluation of automatic steering system of ship in following seas. Prediction method based on the principle of linear superposition. Irregular wave disturbances in following seas is calculated by frequency variation method. The mathematical model of each element of an automatic steering system is derived, which takes account of a few non-linear mechanisms. PD(Proportional-Derivative) controller and low-pass filter with a weather adjustment are adopted to modelling the characteristics of an autopilot. Performance index is introduced from the viewpoint of energy saving, which derived from the concept of energy loss on ship propulsion. Finally, the present methods are applied to two typical types of ship ; an ore carrier and a fishing boat. The various effects of control constants of autopilot on propulsive energy loss are investigated

  • An approach to time-varying obstacle avoidance problem is pursued. The mathematical formulation of the problem is given in Cartesian space and in joint space. To deal with the time-varying obstacles, view-time is introduced. A view-time is the time interval viewing the time-varying obstacles to model equivalent stationary obstacles. For the analysis of the properties of the view-time, avoidability measure is defined as a measure of easiness for a robot to avoid obstacles. Based on the properties, a motion planning strategy to avoid time-varying obstacles is derived. An application of the strategy to the collision-free motion planning of two SCARA robots and the simulation on the application are given.
