Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFC) are of great interest of next generation energy conversion system due to their high energy efficiency and environmental friendliness. The basic SOFC unit consists of anode, cathode and solid electrolyte. Among these components, anode plays the most important role for the oxidation of fuel to generate electricity and also behaves as a substrate of the whole cell. It is normally requested that the anode materials should have the high electrical conductivity and gas permeability to reduce the polarization loss of the cell. In this study, the effect of pore former on the microstructure of anode substrate was investigated and thus on the electrical conductivity and the gas permeability. According to the results, microstructure and electrical conductivity of anode substrate were greatly influenced by the shape of pore former and especially by the anisotrpy of the pore former. The use of anisotropic pore former is supposed to deteriorate the cell performance by which the electrical conduction path is disconnected but also the effective gas diffusion path for the fuel is reduced.
The powders of L $a_{0.8}$C $a_{0.2}$Mn $O_3$ Colossal Magnetoresistance (CMR) materials were synthesized by sol-gel process. Lanthanum(H), Calcium(II) and Manganese(III) 2,4-Pentanedionate were dissolved in a mixed binary solution consisted of propionic acid and methanol with PEG (15 wt%) aqueous solution. The progress of reactions was monitored by FT-IR spectroscopy. The Lao scao.2Mn03 gel powders were annealed at various temperatures. The structural changes were investigated by FT-IR, CP/MAS $^{ 13}$C solid state NMR spectroscopy and XRD. The thermochemical property, particle characterization, microstructure of sintered sample, and cation composition of gel powder were studied by TG/DTA, FE-SEM and ICP-AES. The magnetic characterizations were identified through measurement of magnetic moment by VSM.
Game studies of theatrical approach explained interactive property of game in humanistic background. Those studies analyze the game, and based on Aristoteles Poetic Attribute. But theatrical approach has a problem by user's unpredictable intervention in narrative (Active narrative). This paper intended to see in the glance of any impact on the Aristotelian model by active narrative. As a result of the active narrative remake the causality between materials of drama. Also, it can be seen to define a kind of the "Improvisation" in theatrical view. But it exposed a essential difference in the form an expression by substance and material of media. It was defined forms of improvisation in the gaming environment which are 'Self-generated Individuality', 'Self-definition Faction', 'Eccentric Behavior Contending', 'Trolling' and 'Bug Play'. Finally this paper proposes the characteristics of the improvisation of the game and the direction to be improved game analysis model in humanities through forms of improvisation in game environment.

Purpose: Ti-6Al-4V alloy is widely used as an implant material because of its good biocompatibility and good mechanical property compared with commercial pure titanium. Otherwise, toxicity of aluminum and vanadium in vivo has been reported. Ti-8Ta-3Nb alloy is recently developed in the R&D Center for Ti and Special Alloys and it was reported that this alloy has high mechanical strength, no cytotoxicity and similar biocompatibility to commercial pure titanium, but many studies are needed for its clinical use. In these experiment, we carried out different surface treatment on each Ti-8Ta-3Nb alloy disks, then cultured cell on it and assessed biological response. Materials and Methods: cpTi, Ti-6Al-4V, Ti-8Ta-3Nb alloy disks were prepared and carried out sandblasting and acid etching (SLA) or alkali-heat treatment (AH) on the Ti-8Ta-3Nb alloy disks. We cultured primary rat calvarial cells on each surface and assessed early cell attachment and proliferation by scanning electron microscopy, cell proliferation, alkaline phosphatase activity. Result: The rates of cell proliferation on the cpTi, Ti-8Ta-3Nb AH disks were higher than others (p<0.05) and alkaline phosphatase activity was significantly enhanced on the Ti-STa-8Nb AH disks(p<0.05). Conclusion: Most favorable cell response was shown on the Ti-8Ta-3Nb AH surfaces. It is supposed that alkali-heat treatment of the Ti-8Ta-3Nb alloy could be induced earlier bone healing and osseointegration than smooth surface.

Silicon nitride is hard and tough ceramic material. Hereby, mechanical machinability is very poor. It has also high electrical resistance. Silicon nitride of extremely high electrical resistivity becomes conductive ceramic composite by adding 30 wt% TiN. Ceramics with high electrical conductivity can be electrical discharge machined. Using by the Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) technique. $Si_3N_4-TiN$ ceramic composite with high electrical conductivity is utilized to make metal working tool. These tool materials have severe wear problem as well as oxidation. Post HIP processing after sintering $Si_3N_4-TiN$ ceramic composites was performed. The tribological property of $Si_3N_4-TiN$ composite as a function of content of TiN was investigated in air, at room temperature. The hardness, fracture toughness, and flexural strength were compared with the wear volume. SEM observation of wear tracks can make an explanation of wear mode of $Si_3N_4-TiN$ composite.
In this work, the blend system prepared from epoky(DGEBA)/polymethylmethacrylate(PMMA) was investigated in thermal and mechanical interfacial property measurements. The thermal properties were carried out by DSC, DMA, and TGA measurements. Also, the surface free energy and fracture toughness were determined by contact angle and critical stress intensity factor($K_{IC}$), respectively. And the fracture surface was observed by SEM after $K_{IC}$ tests. As experimental results, the curing temperature and glass transition temperature were slightly increased in addition of PMMA. Surface free energy of the blends showed an improved value at low contents of PMMA which could be attributed to the both increasings of London dispersive and polar components. From measurement of $K_{IC}$ of the blends, the highest value was found at 5 phr. This was due to the increasing of compatibility or physical interaction in macromolecular chains between DGEBA and PMMA of the blends.
To determine the effect of chemical structure of aromatic amino curing agents on thermal and mechanical properties, standard epoxy resin DGEBF (diglycidylether of bisphenol F) was cured with diaminodiphenyl methane (DDM) and diaminodiphenyl sulphone (DDS) in a stoichiometrically equivalent ratio. From this work the effect of aromatic amino curing agents on the thermal and mechanical properties is significantly influenced by the chemical structure of curing agents. In contrast, the results show that the DGEBF/DDS system having the sulfone structure between the benzene rings had higher values in the thermal stability, density, shrinkage ($\%$), thermal expansion coefficient, tensile modulus and strength, flexural modulus and strength than the DGEBF/DDM system having methylene structure between the benzene rings, whereas the DGEBF/DDS system presented low values in maximum exothermic temperature, conversion of epoxide, and grass transition temperature. These results are caused by the relative effects of sulfone group having strong electronegativity and methylene group having (+) repulsive property. The result of fractography shows that the grain distribution of DGEBF/DDS system is more irregular than that of the DGEBF/DDM system.
In this paper, we present an optimization method for the single Dallenbach-layer type microwave absorbers composed of E-glass fabric/epoxy composite laminates. The composite prepreg containing carbon nanotubes (CNT) was used to control the electrical property of the composites laminates. The design technology using the genetic algorithm was used to get the optimal thicknesses of the laminates and the filler contents at various center frequencies, for which the numerical model of the complex permittivity of the composite laminate was incorporated. In the optimal design results, the content of CNT increased in proportion to the center frequency, but, on the contrary, the thickness of the microwave absorbers decreased. The permittivity and reflection loss are measured using vector network analyzer and 7 mm coaxial airline. The influence of the mismatches in between measurement and prediction of the thickness and the complex permittivity caused the shift of the center frequency, blunting of the peak at the center frequency and the reduction of the absorbing bandwidth.
This paper deals with anisotropic property and structural analysis for short fiber reinforced plastic composites manufactured by the injection molding process. The common approach for modeling this type of material is the consideration of the material as homogenous and isotropic. However, the common isotropy approach often results in unexpected failure. To overcome this, new structure analysis methodology was developed in order to consider fiber orientation effect using injection mold flow analysis and Halpin-Tsai equations for unidirectional composites and taking an orientation average. The numerical predictions are compared to experimental data for tensile specimen. The predicted mechanical properties agree well with experimental data for fiber orientation and weld line effect. The analysis system was also applied to an automobile part. The proposed anisotropic model predicted different mechanical properties by position of the part and different mechanical performance of the part was changed according to injection gate position.
This study is investigated by experiments and analyses at rates of 2.5m/s, 7.5m/s and 12.5m/s on the impact of tapered double cantilever beam specimens with aluminium alloy. It aims to examine the mechanical property of aluminum alloy by evaluating energy release rate and equivalent stress happened at the bonded part of specimen. Because bonding force remains after the separation of specimen, the energy release rate at the bonded part becomes highest. As crack propagates and the high stress happens at the end of the bonded part, the maximum equivalent stress becomes higher at the last stage, regardless of impact rate. These results of experiments and analyses are the data necessary to develop the safe design of composite material to prevent crack propagation due to impact.
