This study was begun on the premise that architecture which has the definite disposition for survival even in the urban, social structure of that uncertainty and constructs specialty is biomorphic architecture. This study was made with the following four specific purposes largely. First, through the theoretical investigation of biomorphic architecture that appears in the tendency that mordern architecture develops into the architecture of do-stereotype and new form, its meaning and definition are examined. Second, the analysis of biomorphic architecture is investigated and the generation causes are applied architecturally and generate biomorphic architecture is made. Third, by analyzing the material expression characteristics of biomorphic architecture, the meaning and possibility of architecture, which expresses the vitality of organism, as the material expression characteristics of biomorphic architecture, are investigated. The material expression characteristics was deduced through the generation background of biomorphic architecture. The material expression characteristics of biomorphic architecture is the various modeling by smart-network and the response system of sensitivity poly-logue.

This study explores the relationship between the expression of material Sensibility properties and the meaning of tectonic in the architectural space of Kengo kuma. First of all, It can be derived that The sensibility of the material is based on phenomenological meaning of the tectonic after modern architecture that also Kengo kuma has been aware of. So it derived characteristics of sensibility by material expression and meaning from the Kengo kuma's works including critical books and collection of architecture works. All derived characteristics consist of sub-sections of the case analysis to figure out correlation with expression of Material Sensibility and tectonic meaning at the Kengo kuma's works. At the ends, it was analyzed through the relationship chart.

Today aesthetics expression could be a 'Everyday-life Beauty', because today art & design are closely related with a contemporary life. This thesis dealt with a everyday-life and sensitive design which sublimate from everyday-life material to the concept of aesthetics, such a purpose of this thesis establishes a base of everyday-life design through everyday-life aesthetics. This purpose made to pay attention to Japan's aesthetics concept, because Japan has been maintained and developed its own everyday-life aesthetics. Even if Japan doesn't have only everyday-life aesthetics, it is useful that is studies as some kind of a prototype. So this study analyzed about a everyday-life aesthetics and the expression method through the case-study of Japan. According to Yonagi Muneyoshi and Leonard Koren, the Wabi-Sabi has three conceptual characteristics like impermanent, incomplete, and imperfect and six expression characteristics like implication, tranquility, simplicity, coarseness, purity, and association. This study process is as follows. In the first a vocabulary of interior design was derived from three conceptual characteristics and six expression characteristics, and spatial facts was abstracted from it, and then volume, form, and then shape of composition facts of interior space was extracted from it. Finally the expression characteristics of the Wabi-Sabi in interior design was derived from these processes. In conclusion, the expression characteristics of the Wabi-Sabi in interior design is the transitional space through a Shadow, the conversional space through form and material composition, and the copying space through a natural friendship.

This study focuses on understanding the design characteristics of interior styles reflected in contemporary residential spaces by choosing and analyzing some design cases, reflecting interior styles of various countries, which is broadcasted through an interior design cable television in the U.S. Moreover, this study is meaningful because it provides a chance to extend the scope of study to the improving and developing Korean interior style for clarifying Korean identity to make Korean image by the comparison with other cultural spheres. In this study, after sorting 10 interior- style types and 90 design cases from the 12 cable television that mainly manage interior design projects, I grasp interior-design characteristics of each cases classified by form/expression and material. Research objects of the form/expression part for the interior-design characteristics are limited to furniture, textile, and ornaments, and those of material part are limited to furniture and ornaments.

The purpose of this study is to examine the expression techniques and methods of Upcycling fashion brands and designers who have focused on Upcycling, and have found success. The study used collected literatures, press releases, and Internet searches using the word, 'Upcycling' in order to investigate the design characteristics and to set up criteria to classify the material expression techniques found in Upcycling fashion design. The results are as follows: Firstly, according to the result of analyzing the product images of Upcycling fashion design, the most frequently used expression methods are deconstruction and reorganization, $d{\acute{e}}paysement$, and assemblage/collage. Deconstruction and reorganization is used to make most of the Upcycling fashion design products using recycled materials. It is one of the ways to create new value that transcends the value of the previous item. Secondly, Upcycling fashion design's expression techniques generally attempt to use recycling material diversely to complement the recycling material that is limited in some way to the purpose of clothing. In this process, we can find expression techniques used to bring out) the characteristics of Upcycling fashion design. Patching, adding, cutting, folding, or weaving is the technique mainly employed.

In modem days when architectural materials have grave impacts on overall design expression, materials for architecture, especially finishing materials have become the most essential elements for the design expression, as architectural space and form have been. When it comes to the architectural materials, they can be conceived by visual and tactile sensory system and perceptional system which based on memory and experience. This study confirms how materials bring into effect on architecture in the sense of its design. The main subject of this analysis is expression method of architectural finishing materials. Also, this study finds out the relationship between finishing materials and the images of materials by analyzing the effect factor of architectural material expression with the perspectives of materials, formal and environments and by examining roles of the architectural materials in design. The material factor, in the expression of materiality, is how to make tectonic space and to vary the surface of building as finishing material design. The formal factor is related to set up the new direction in the architectural form and to create the dynamic and informal space. And the social and cultural environment as the effect factor gives new situation and context to architectural material expression. This principle enables us to use architectural materials as one of the important elements which express the whole characteristics of the area.

This study analyzed metaphorical characteristics of composite materials in terms of a visual aspect on a new material that is applicable for housing space. The results are as follows. First, the recent trend of housing space tends to stimulate emotions of residents through visual finishing materials, and for this reason, visual expression of a new material that is applicable to finishing materials plays an important role. Second, convertibleness, association and duplicity were selected as items of metaphorical expressions through the precedent studies. Third, most of combinations of materials were shown different from the existing materials in an expressive characteristic of composite materials through analysis, and application of a technology showed a different visual effect of patterns and textures from the existing materials. This implies that visual expression and directing are being attempted using such technology on finishing materials of housing space with development of digital technologies. Fourth, for metaphorical characteristics of composite material for housing space, combination of various materials and a digital technology were applied on convertibleness. For association, a combination of materials that have each different characteristic associated with the third material, and combination with subsidiary material of optical fiber and a digital technology were appled for duplicity. Data obtained from the results of this study has high efficiency in planning finishing materials for emotional housing space in future, and it will be basic data for a study on development of new finishing materials.

Presents age is diversified in all genres by fast development of information and digital, and expression of fixing is not. Architecture and interior space design is showing new paradigm through dematerializing, ex-formal, nonlinear. Glass material is expressing by various technique in space and outer skin to introduction of digital media and a high-tech technology. Expressive characteristics and Techniques of this glass material are showing form of homogenized life in this age, simulated life. Therefore, this study does theoretical investigation through dematerializing of glass material, and analyzes works after 2000. Wish to understand stream of indoor design of present age after analyzes expression special quality and technique of glass material that reflect age and make a study of symbolic expression characteristic.

Since modem times, civilization of scientific technology has rapidly expanded and resulted in many negative aspects. Dystopia is a skeptical future standpoint newly introduced by surging awareness of these negative aspects. The purpose of this study is to discover the common characteristics by studying costumes displayed in dystopian films which have critical view of the future. This study is made through the research of sundry records, thesis and capture images from DVD system. As a result of the study, the common formative characteristics of future costumes appearing in six dystopian films are classified into external characteristics and internal characteristics. First, external characteristics were analyzed according to the form, material and color. Second, internal characteristics of costumes appearing in dystopian films are categorized as the indeterminate expression, ex-typical expression and uniform expression. The above formative characteristics of dystopian future costumes can be described as the embodiment of meanings of influence from present and future cultural changes in terms of the characteristics of fashion.

In this study, the fashion trend after the 1990s and the characteristics of fashion in the postmodernistic viewpoint that mainly effected fashion were observed, and the characteristics of fashion illustration expression was observed in the viewpoint of its link. It can be seen that mutually close characteristics are mutually linked. As the result of this study, the characteristics of fashion illustration can be categorized into three areas. and the sub-concepts are as following. The first category is the pursuit of feminine beauty of individual multi-dimension. This includes- 1) retro feminine beauty; 2) fetishistic and ecstatic feminine beauty; 3) mixed composition genderless (mixed composition style. ageless style and raceless style): and 4) beauty of body deconstruction and reconstruction (deformation due to partial transformation, change into animalization, mechanization and spirituelization. and beautification of crudeness). The second is the intentional deviation of expression and production technique. This includes-1) deviation from traditional perspective; 2) deviation from composition concept: and 3) breaking away from the existing material and expression technique of material. The third is the pursuit of authority-rejection form of expression. This is an area that should be noticed in the fashion illustration expression of the 1990s, as it shows the most diverse phenomenon. The sub-concepts of this category include- 1) separation of art 2) minimalism (minimalism in structure and production method); 3) flatness; 4) completion of incompletion; 5) accidentalism; 6) sportive;7) absence of figure; 8) intentional childishness 9) story development; 10) techno mechanism and cyber character; and 11) animation style.
