  • This work conducted the experimental analysis on ultrasonic acoustic matching in order to measure the accuracy of gaseous fuel level values. The experimental devices were used as 12V-DC supply, control T1 board, oscilloscope (DS01072B), ultrasonic probe and pattern table. The research models were designed by ceramic assay which can determine the transmitting and receiving energies. The result of the ringing area could verify the increased characteristics in the order of D (0.180m) < E (0.184m) < B (0.204m) < A (0.234m) < F (0.244m) < C (0.247m) models based on initial 2.9V of the maximum peak voltage. From the experimental results, the model designed by Ø21*3+2t of the matching layer was notable in that the most outstanding directivity energy could be created.

  • A three node triangular element with drilling rotations incorporating Improved Layerwise Zig-zag Theory(HZZT) is developed to analyze the vibration of spinning pretwisted composite blades with embedded damping layer. Matching conditions at the interfaces between the damping material and the border material are enforced by setting the shear forces matched and different shear strains along the interfaces. The natural frequencies and modal loss factors of cantilevered pretwisted composite blade with damping core are calculated with the present triangular element enforcing the matching conditions and compared to experimental results and MSC/NASTRAN results using a layered combination of plate and solid elements.

  • In this paper, the solutions of TE(transverse electric) scattering problems by a resistive strip grating over a grounded dielectric layer are analyzed by applying the PMM(point matching method) known as a numerical method of electromagnetic fileld. The boundary conditions are applied to obtain the unknown field coefficients and the resistive boundary condition is used for the relationship between the tangential magnetic field and the induced surface current density on the resistive strip. The induced surface current density of resistive strip is obtained by difference of the up and down of the magnetic field in two boundary areas of the resistive strip. The numerical results for reflected power of zeroth order mode analyzed by according as the resistivity, the width and spacing of resistive strip, the relative permittivity and thickness of dielectric layer, and incident angles. The numerical results shown in good agreement compared to those of the existing papers using FGMM(fourier galerkin moment method).

  • With the evolution to distributed computing technology, the concept of conventional client/server function has been advanced to Service-Oriented Architecture, which can share the information between heterogeneous systems as services. To success Service-Oriented Architecture, the conjunction between business layer and application layer is one of the important techniques. In this paper, we classify services into two views, vertical and horizontal, and introduce matching technique with service classification for SOA.

  • In this paper, we propose a new method for content-based retrieval system using wavelet transform and correlation, which has were used in signal processing and image compressing. The matching method is used not perfect matching but similar matching. Used feature vector is the lowest frequency(LL) itself, energy value, and edge information of 4-layer, after computng a 4-layer 2-D fast wavelet transform on image. By the proosed algorithm, we got the result that was faste rand more accurate than the traditional algorithm. Because used feature vector was compressed 256:1 over original image, retrieval speed was highly improved. By using correlation, moving object with size variation was reterieved without additional feature information.

  • In this study, we have tried to find the optimized design variables of the matching layer which is important part of thickness mode ultrasonic transducer and finally reach the conclusion that the electrical property of piezo-element must be under consideration when the optimized acoustic impedance is estimated. Proper expression of the effective impedance of front load at free resonant frequency(: $Z_{f}$ $^{(0)}$ /) has been induced by introducing the principle of binomial multilayer transformer and gradient based numerical method is utilized to find the most acceptable value of $Z_{ f}$/$^{(0)}$ . Optimized point of acoustic impedance can be calculated directly from $Z_{f}$ $^{(0)}$ using some simple formula which we propose. We also verify our result by both numerical and experimental method and get a good enhancement especially it concern to the bandwidth of ultrasonic transducer.

  • In this study, piezoelectric transducers were designed and manufactured using PZT-5A which had relatively high electromechanical coefficient, NDT system was developed with was able to inspect automatically using stepping motors, PC-Lab, and PC-Scope The optimum design conditions for NDT were presented and verified comparing PZT-5A probes with comercial probes. It was proved with comercial probes. It was proved by simulation and experiments that Epoxy is good as material of matching and backing layers. The envelope was reduced 60% with matching layer and 76% with matching and backing layer. NDT was successfully carried out for aluminum test pieces. Distance error of PZT-5A probe was 2.8%.

  • Microwave absorbing properties of ferrite-epoxy composite (absorbing layer) attached on the carbon fiber polymer composite (reflective substrate) are analyzed on the basis of wave propagation theory. A modified equation for wave-impedance-matching at the front surface of absorbing layer including the effect of electrical properties of the quasi-conducting substrate is proposed. Based on this analysis, the frequency and layer dimension that produce zero-reflection can be estimated from the intrinsic material properties of the obsorbing layer and the substrate. It is demonstrated that the microwave reflectivity of carbon fiber composite has a strong influence on the microwave absorbance of front magnetic layer.

  • In real-world intelligent transportation systems, accuracy in vehicle license plate detection and recognition is considered quite critical. Many algorithms have been proposed for still images, but their accuracy on actual videos is not satisfactory. This stems from several problematic conditions in videos, such as vehicle motion blur, variety in viewpoints, outliers, and the lack of publicly available video datasets. In this study, we focus on these challenges and propose a license plate detection and recognition scheme for videos based on a temporal matching prior network. Specifically, to improve the robustness of detection and recognition accuracy in the presence of motion blur and outliers, forward and bidirectional matching priors between consecutive frames are properly combined with layer structures specifically designed for plate detection. We also built our own video dataset for the deep training of the proposed network. During network training, we perform data augmentation based on image rotation to increase robustness regarding the various viewpoints in videos.

  • We have developed bio-system derived algorithm: Leaf Cellular Automata(LCA). LCA are one form of cellular automata. LCA are reffered to activity of a leaf. LCA have four layers: the "CO$_2$ Layer", the "Stoma Layer", the "Starch Layer" and the "Water Layer". In order to evaluate this optimization algorithm, we used a pattern matching problem.
