  • 휴대전화는 용도적인 측면에서 PC와 유사해 지고 있으며 네트워크 기술의 발달로 다 수의 파일들을 다룰 수 있을 것으로 전망되고 있다. 그러나 휴대전화는 PC와는 다른UI특징을 가지고 있으며 이러한 차이는 다 수 파일의 관리나 이와 관련된 복잡한 태스크 수행 시 문제점이 예상된다. 본 연구는 사용자의 선험적 지식을 바탕으로 휴대전화의 UI특징에 적합한 효용성 있는 파일관리 UI가 무엇인지 알아보는 것에 목적이 있다. 이에 따라 사용자의 선험적 지식이 있는 윈도우탐색기의 사용행태 조사를 통해 자주 수행하는 태스크와 메타포어를 분석하여 휴대전화와 비교, 문제점 과 해결방안을 도출하였다. 이를 바탕으로 프로토타입을 제작하여 사용자 평가를 통해 가로방향의 페이지 분할 방식과 * 또는 #키와의 중복을 활용한 단축키 제공, 일괄적인 옵션 메뉴의 제공은 사용자가 익숙해져 있는 4방향 네비게이션 키와 12 숫자 키패드를 입력장치로 사용하는 휴대전화에서 파일관리 시 효용성이 있음을 알 수 있었다.

  • 기존의 데이터베이스관리시스템(Database Management System : DBMS)은 대부분 메인 프레임 컴퓨터 이상의 컴퓨터와 같은 강력한 컴퓨터에 설치되고, 이 컴퓨터에 터미널을 연결하여 운용하는 방식이 대부분이었다. 최근 들어 저렴하고 강력한 워크스테이션과 초고속의 통신장비 등장으로 클라이언트-서버 DBMS구조는 많은 사람들에 의해서 연구되고 있다. 그러나. 클라이언트-서버 DBMS의 고장회복에 관한 연구는 아직까지 깊이 있게 연구되지 않고 있는 실정이다. 본 논문은 클라이언트-서버 환경 중 페이지-서버 환경의 회복기법에 관해서 논한다. 제한된 기법은 서버파손이 발생할 경우 페이지별로 로그일련번호 부여로 신속히 회복을 수행할 수 있고, 클라이언트에서 철회동작을 수행함으로써 시스템 병렬성을 사용하였다. 그리고 기존의 방법과 달리 재수행 로그레코드만을 서버로 전송하므로 WAL(Write Ahead log) 규약을 위한 오버헤드가 감소되었다.

순산소 석탄 연소 발전 시스템의 성능 평가 - 동력 사이클의 열역학적 해석 (Performance Evaluation of an Oxy-coal-fired Power Generation System - Thermodynamic Evaluation of Power Cycle)

  • Power generation systems based on the oxy-coal combustion with carbon dioxide capture and storage (CCS) capability are being proposed and discussed lately. Although a large number of lab scale studies for oxy-coal power plant have been made, studies of pilot scale or commercial scale power plant are not enough. Only a few demonstration projects for oxy-coal power plant are publicized recently. The proposed systems are evolving and various alternatives are to be comparatively evaluated. This paper presents a proposed approach for performance evaluation of a commercial 100 MWe class power plant, which is currently being considered for 'retrofitting' for the demonstration of the concept. The system is configurated based on design and operating conditions with proper assumptions. System components to be included in the discussion are listed. Evaluation criteria in terms of performance are summarized based on the system heat and mass balance and simple performance parameters, such as the fuel to power efficiency and brief introduction of the second law analysis. Also, gas composition is identified for additional analysis to impurities in the system including the purity of oxygen and unwanted gaseous components of nitrogen, argon and oxygen in air separation unit and $CO_2$ processing unit.

여수석유화학산단의 공선성 시험을 이용한 VOC 오염원 분류표 개발 (Development of the vac Source Profile using Collinearity Test in the Yeosu Petrochemical Complex)

  • The total of 35 target VOCs (volatile organic compounds), which were included in the TO-14, was selected to develop a VOCs' source profile matrix of the Yeosu Petrochemical Complex and to test its collinearity by singular value decomposition(SVD) technique. The VOCs collected in canisters were sampled from 12 different sources such as 8 direct emission sources (refinery, painting, wastewater treatment plant, incinerator, petrochemical processing, oil storage, fertilizer plant, and iron mill) and 4 general area sources (gasoline vapor emission, graphic art activity, vehicle emission, and asphalt paving activity) in this study area, and then those samples were analyzed by GC/MS. Initially the resulting raw data for each profile were scaled and normalized through several data treatment steps, and then specific VOCs showing major weight fractions were intensively reviewed and compared by introducing many other related studies. Next, all of the source profiles were tested in terms of degree of collinearity by SVD technique. The study finally could provide a proper VOCs' source profile in the study area, which can give opportunities to apply various receptor models properly including chemical mass balance (CMB).

압전소자를 이용한 에너지 수확에 관한 연구 (A Study on Energy Harvesting Technique using Piezoelectric Element)

  • This paper presents the energy harvesting technique which is carried out by vibration system with a piezoelectric element. In this study, low frequency characteristics of the piezoelectric element bonded to the aluminum cantilever were experimentally investigated. The piezoelectric element of size of $45L{\times}11W{\times}0.6H$ and piezoelectric constant($d_{31}$ ) of $-180{\times}10^{-12}C/N$ was used. The material of cantilever is an aluminum and two kinds of cantilever of which dimensions are (150, 190)$[mm]{\times}13[mm]{\times}1.5[mm]$ were experimented, respectively. The cantilever was fixed on the magnetic type vibrator and the vibrator was operated by power input with a sine wave. The characteristics of requency and mass variation of cantilever end part such as 0, 2.22, 4.34, 5.87, 8.66, 11.01 [g] were investigated. Finally, this paper suggests a method of generating electrical energy with a piezoelectric element using wind, an energy source that is easily applied and from which we can obtain "clean" energy.

  • 구름 물리학을 응용한 강수모형이 Geogakakos와 Bras(1984)에 의하여 개발된 바 있다. 본 연구는 그들이 제시한 강수모형을 호우모형으로 수정한 것이다. 수정의 근간은 수운적 크기분포(HSD)가 강우 생성류에 미치는 영향과 강우강도에 종속이다는 점을 반영한 것이다. 이 HSD식을 운정과 운저의 유출 수분질량 및 지상에 내린 강우량, 구름층내의 저류량식에 적용하였다. 전주 측후소의 실측 기상자료를 입력자료로 하여 본 수정모형의 매개변수를 조정하였다. 그 결과 매시간 계산 강우량이 기존모형은 큰 편차를 보였으나 본 연구를 통해 제시한 수정모형은 실측 호우에 잘 부합되었다.

Accidental case of large colon impaction in a horse

  • A 5 years old gelding (Thoroughbred, Equus caballus) had shown severe abdominal pain, colic, after overeating of hay in the feed storage. following through treatment, it subsequently died. Grossly, the large colon was impacted with firm mass of food and congestion of blood vessel in the intestinal wall. There were mild peritonitis and pleuropneumonia. This case demonstrates typical large colon impaction with hard consistence ingesta due to improper management of horse.

  • In this study, we suggested a slim-type actuator that can be controlled in radial direction for compensating coma aberration in high-capacity optical storage devices. To deal successfully with narrow space in slim-type optical pick-up for notebook pc device, additional yokes for tilting motion are integrated into main yoke of the actuator. And the location of tilting coils is determined for mass-b3lancing effect to achieve optimal configuration for high driving sensitivity. We also suggested new concept of lens holder to guarantee excellent stability of control system by enhancing the gain margin at secondary resonant frequency. The concept was realized by forming damping sections in the lens holder, which prevent vibrational energy from transferring to lens. An exclusive measurement system was newly developed for fast and precise measurement of dynamic characteristics of actuators and utilized for the practical use. We hope to make good use of this system also in time to come.

부식작용으로 인하여 디스크면으로 이동된 코발트가 Thermal Asperity 현상에 미치는 영향 (The Study of Corrosion Induced Co migration and Its Effect on Thermal Asperity Phenomenon)

  • Corrosion of the disk has been an ongoing concern for the manufacturers of hard disk drives. With the advent of magnetoresistive (MR) head, very low levels of corrosion and contamination become more critical since the raised defects and corrosion products on the disk surface-anything that heats the MR sensor due to the contact-can distort the output signal of the head. This phenomenon is called as thermal asperity. In this paper, the effect of corrosion as a form of Co migration on the occurrence of thermal asperity in MR drives was investigated. The corrosion test at high temperature (60$^{\circ}C$) and high relative humidity (80%) was emphasized in this study and the testing results at ambient condition were compared. The corrosion on the disks was characterized as the amount of Co ion migration using an ion chromatography (IC) and a time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectroscopy (TOF-SIMS). It is proved that corrosion on the disk surface after storage testing is closely correlated to the amount of Co ions migration from the magnetic layer to disk surfaces and higher Co migration causes more thermal asperities in the drive. In order to reduce Co migration, several methods such as burnishing process and structure of the carbon overcoat were investigated. It is found that the hydrogenated carbon overcoat shows the least Co migration among different types of overcoat layer. However, the most effective way to reduce Co migration is the application of Cr layer between the overcoat and the magnetic alloy layer.

습지의 수환경과 영양물질에 미치는 침수식물의 영향 (Effects of Submerged Plants on Water Environment and Nutrient Reduction in a Wetland)

  • Submerged plants whose most of vegetative mass are below the water surface can have great effects on wetland biogeochemistry and water purification through their photosynthesis and nutrient uptake processes. In this study, change of dissolved oxygen concentration and pH as well as nutrient removal capacity of the submerged plant dominant wetland were investigated using wetland mesocosm experiments. Obvious periodic DO and pH fluctuation was observed due to photosynthetic activities of the submerged plants. It implies that the submerged plants can provide periodic or sequential changes of oxic and anoxic conditions that affect nitrification and denitrification processes and contribute permanent nitrogen removal in the wetland system. The pH changes in the wetland mesocosm suggested that submerged plant could also play an important role as a temporary $CO_2$ storage. Higher nutrient removal efficiency was observed in the submerged plant dominant wetland mesocosm. The removal efficiencies under experimental conditions were 38.89, 84.70, 91.21, 70.76, 75.30% of TN, DIN, $NH_4-N$, TP, $PO_4-P$ in the wetland mesocosm, while those were 26.11, 57.34, 63.87, 28.19, 55.15% in the control treatment, respectively.
