The Effect of Conflict-Coping Types on Marital Satisfaction (부부의 갈등대처유형이 결혼만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study discusses whether conflict-coping types of marital couples affect marital satisfaction. There are 5 conflict-coping types of husbands and wives which can be distinguished from each other by attitudes based on partners' answers. Women's conflict-coping types are : compromisors passives apathetics attackers and blamers. Men's conflict-coping types are : reasoners passives jubeniles attackers and volatiles. Each type of husband and wife affects their marital satisfaction. All married coulpes are categorized again by the index of withdraw/demand. As result there is a difference among 3 groups : resoner-husbadn/ any type of wife demand-husband/ withdraw-wife and demand-husband/ demand-wife. In other words when a husband is resoner-husband regardless of the type of wife their marital satisfaction is the highest. And the demand-husband / withdraw-wife type shows a more positive effect on marital satisfaction than the demand-husband/ demand-wife type.

Fathers' Values and Future Expectations Regarding Children and Their self-evaluated Shared Parenting (아버지의 자녀에 대한 가치 및 미래 기대와 양육분담)

  • Objective: This study is to examine the associations between fathers' values and future expectations on children and their self-evaluated equivalence to their spouses in child rearing practices. Methods: The data were from 997 fathers with young children who participated in the Panel Study of Korean Children (2013). The associations between variables were analyzed with frequency, correlations and hierarchical analysis using SPSS 20 Program. Results: Fathers with emotional values on children or future expectations focused on their children's happiness and altruism are more willing to share child raring practices with their partners. In contrast, fathers with expectation focused on future financial success of their children are less willing to share parenting with their partners. Conclusion/Implications: Fathers' values and future expectations for their children are meaningful predictors of shared parenting in married couples with young children. However, the directions of associations differ based on which types of values and future exportations fathers have regarding their children.

  • The major purpose of this study was to develop with priority given to the discourse on the correlation between interpersonal resources and home management behavior for family life satisfaction. So, this study was to identify the perception of equity in marital life, through which dynamic aspects is measured with family resource. Some of the major findings are as follows : The perception of equity in marital life show a significant difference by the state of employment and the degree of communication in couple. Housewives'home management behavior show a significant difference by the perception of equity in marital life. It appears that intra system dynamics elements explain housewives'home management behavior. From the Regression Analysis, the Model was found to be highly significant, accounting for 63% of the variances. Especially, housewives'family life satisfaction is influenced by the perception of daily life equity capable of evaluating each of a married couples'contribution and reward for family life lather than perception of psychological-emotional equity.

A Case Analysis on Remarried Family with Family Conflict (재혼가족의 가족갈등 사례분석)

  • The study investigated the repeated conflict of remarried family from family systems perspective, and used the verbatim of family members, who were participated in family therapy, as analysis data. the study used Miles and Hubernam's matrix, graph, and graphical network display to analyze the data. The results of study were as follows. After the couples remarried, a husband and two step-children, who were born in ex-wife, used dysfunctional communication method to keep the established family systems. Also, a wife used dysfunctional communication method to change the existing family systems. These dysfunctional communication method, which were used by family members, caused vicious cycle rather than resolving the family conflict. The differences of remarried husband first-married wife, and the differences of blooded and non-blooded relationships among family members had influenced on family conflict.

Unmarried College Students' Knowledge of Sex and Cognition of Prenatal Education (미혼 대학생의 성지식과 태교인식 조사)

  • This study investigated unmarried college students' knowledge of sex and cognition of prenatal education. It also aimed to provide insights into how college students' awareness of prenatal education may be raised and to make future married couples practice prenatal education. This study used a descriptive correlational research design. Participants were 346 college students in North and South Jeolla Province. Descriptive statistics with the SPSS WIN 12.0 program were used to analyze the collected data. Important findings were as follows: The mean knowledge of sex was .55, which was near moderate level. The mean cognition of prenatal education was 4.08, which was near high level. Knowledge of sex was influenced significantly by sex and major, whereas cognition of prenatal education was influenced significantly by sex. Thus, it was found that when considering how to raise the cognition of prenatal education and sexual knowledge of sex, both gender and major are important factors to consider.

  • This study has an intention of investigating residential present condition of small households, and analysing the factors which have an influence on the choice of residence as a first step of the efficient plan of group residential facility providing a variety of residential present condition. The study defines the meaning of small households on the basis of statistical data that were presented at the National Statistical Office in order to analyse the factors influencing the choice of residence and investigate residential present condition. And the analysis range target is from 20 to 30 aged groups such as university students, social rookie year, and married couples without children. According to the result of analysing residential actual conditions of small households, The choice of residence has various factors. But the study supposes that it reflects three elements of workplace, University and housing price in the choice of residence. So the study investigated the related data.

  • Due to the increasing income of married working couples, people have become accustomed to dining out and spending more money when doing so. As a result, various restaurants are operating and new concept restaurants are emerging to meet the needs of customers. The purpose of dining-out depends upon who the companion is and the choice of restaurant and spending seems to be affected by the purpose. In addition, characteristics of consumers influence their dining-out behaviors. This study explored the relationship the between characteristics of consumers and their reasons for eating-out purpose, choice of restaurant, spending habits and preferred restaurant type.

  • This study was conducted to examine the meaning and motivation for family leisure activities, and to analyze how the family's attitude and motivation affect the satisfaction over family leisure activities. The participants of this study were sixty-five married couples who were living in Seoul. Sata were analyzed by frequency, mean, ANOVA, T-Test, and Duncan test. The major results of this research were as follows; first, there were statistically significant differences in the meanings the families attributed to, and motivations for, family leisure activities according to social-demographic characteristics (gender, age, education, job, and income and debt levels). Second, satisfaction over family leisure activities was affected by their meanings and motivations. The participants who participated voluntarily in family activities as 'leisure activities' showed a higher level of satisfaction.

  • 본 연구는 '소비자중심'의 주거문화를 모색하기 위해 한국사회 신세대소비자의 주거 가치와 관련요인에 대해 수도권의 20~35세 남녀를 대상으로 자기기입식 질문지를 이용하여 실증연구하였고 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 14개 주거가치에 대해 전반적으로 중요 하다는 응답이 대부분이었다. 둘째, 주거가치의 요인분석결과 4개 특성이 추출되었고 두 맥 락으로 접근할 수 있었다 하나는 후기 산업사회로의 발전과 함께 중요하게 인식되는 주거가 치특성으로 외부환경의 편리성과 인간성 회복 인접환경의 안전과 프라이버시 내부환경의 편 리성과 아름다움을 중시하는 주거가치가 이에 속한다. 이주거가치들은 신세대소비자에게 매 우 강하게 형성되어 있었으며 공통적으로 신세대가치관이 강할수록 더 강한 것으로 나타났 다. 다음은 전통적으로 중요시된 주거가치로서 위신과 경제성 주거가치이다 이는 비교적 낮 은 수준으로 나타났으며 신세대가치관이 약할수록 더 강하게 나타났다.

Analyses of the Socio-demographic Characteristics in International Marriage of Koreans by Census Data (인구통계자료에 나타난 한국인 국제결혼의 사회인구학적 특성 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to review the trend in international marriage of Koreans based on Census data from 2001 to 2007 and to analyse socio-demographic characteristics of the married couples. This study remarks that as the primary causes underlying the recent increase in international marriages of Koreans, the change of worldwide condition such as globalization and localization, the condition of countries to leave immigrants, the change of sex/age ratio in population, and the change of value systems are addressed. Census data from the marriage and divorce registration for the period 2001-2007 are analysed. This study covers analysis of foreign partners' nationalities, remarriage, age gap between partners, education levels, male partners' occupation, region of residence and divorce in international marriage of Koreans.
