Measuring Inner or Outer Position of Ship Passenger and Detection of Dangerous Situations based LoRa WAN Communication (LoRa WAN 통신 기반의 선박 내/외부 승선자 측위 및 위험상황 감지 시스템)

  • In order to minimize casualties from marine vessel accidents that occur frequently at home and abroad, it is important to ensure the safety of the passengers aboard the vessel in the event of an accident. There is an EPIRB system as a system for disaster preparedness in the marine situation currently on the market, but there is a problem that the price is very expensive. In order to overcome the cost problem, which is a disadvantage of previous system, LoRaWAN-based communication is used. LoRaWAN communication-based vessel positioning and risk detection system based on LoRaWAN communication transmits measurement data of each module using two Beacon and GPS modules to stably perform position measurement for both indoor and outdoor situations. The rider danger situation detection system can detect the safety status of the rider using the 3-axis acceleration sensor, collect data from the rider positioning system and the rider safety status detection system, and send to server using LoRa communication. When conducting communication experiments in the long-distance maritime situation and actual communication experiments using the implemented system, it was found that the two experiments showed over 90% communication success rate on average.

  • When navigating at sea, informations like other ship's particular are very important to navigator who should make a safe maneuvering. Most of all is obtained through the optical observation and/or the radiotelephone communication, but it is not easy to perceive them when the visibility is restricted or there is some hardness in communication. In this study, we suggest the algorithm that measures the ship's length and speed on the radar screen and estimates the ship's particular such as gross tonnage, breath and type on the base of above two factors.

Neighbor Discovery for Mobile Systems based on Deep Learning (딥러닝을 이용한 주변 무선단말 파악방안)

  • Recently, the device-to-device (D2D) communication has been conceived as the key technology for the next-generation mobile communication systems. The neighbor discovery in which the nearby users are found, is essential for the proper operation of the D2D communication. In this paper, we propose new neighbor discovery scheme based on deep learning technology which has gained a lot of attention recently. In the proposed scheme, the neighboring users can be found using the uplink pilot transmission of users only, unlike conventional neighbor discovery schemes in which direct pilot communication among users is required, such that the signaling overhead can be greatly reduced in our proposed scheme. Moreover, the neighbors with different proximity can also be classified accordingly which enables more accurate neighbor discovery compared to the conventional schemes. The performance of our proposed scheme is verified through the tensorflow-based computer simulations.

  • The performance of a digital baseband signal processing and data transmission rate depends on the modulation technique. In this paper, We implemented DSP communication system for Underwater acoustic communication using by adaptive BPSK modem technique. In order to implement adaptive modem, we suggested SNR detection block. SNR detection block has the reference SNR value that selects between window filter path and matched filter path. In this paper, suggested system is based on software interface and all Hardware(PLL, modem filter, equalizer etc) is implemented by software, exclusive of DSP, A/D, D/A converter, SDRAM and Flash memory.

  • The paper presents a small. unmanned remote controlled probing ship that can reduce the cost for acquiring data of marine and coastal environments. The control system is composed of three microprocessors. one is for overall mission control. another for control of propulsion motors. and the other for sensor operation. For communication system, we adopt direct and indirect methods based on the wireless modem of commercial cellular telephone. The former is a direct communication between the modems of the ship and the server. and the latter is an indirect communication via internet between the ship and the server. The system is equipped with a digital compass and a GPS system for position estimation, and extended Kalman filter is used for the data association. The performance of the ship is demonstrated with the results produced by sets of experiments.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the model of curriculum supervision that can substantialize the educational value by studying actual condition and problems of present curriculum supervision. And this study focuses on reciprocal actions based on communication and dialogs. As the model of supervision mentioned above, this research proposes the supervision model of curriculum based on narrative. We need to move the view point of bureaucratic administrative supervision to new vision. For the supervision matched with this new approach, the teachers' experience has to be reinforced by dialogs and communication between school members and the person in charge of supervision in the mood of respect. The educative value of school can be recovered by the narrative through interaction, respecting school members' experience and meanings in their life according to personal practical knowledge based on teacher's experience, forming the school community by mutual communication, and constructing school culture coping with change of new environment.

  • Smart pig farm which is based on IoT has been widely adopted by many pig farmers. In order to achieve optimal control of smart pig farm, the relation between environmental conditions and performance metric should be characterized. In this study, the relation between multiple environmental conditions including temperature, humidity and various performance metrics, which are daily gain, feed intake, and MSY, is analyzed based on data obtained from 55 real pig farm. Especially, based on preprocessing of data, various regression based machine learning algorithms are considered. Through performance evaluation, we show that the performance can be predicted with high precision, which can improve the efficiency of management.

Development of Balloon-based Autonomous Airborne Robot-kit (풍선기반 자율형 공중로봇키트 개발)

  • Recently, although the need of marine robots such as the underwater robot, surface robot and airborne robot being raised in extreme areas, the basis is very deficient. Fortunately, as the need of the robot education is increasing, it is desirable to establish the R&D basis of marine robots and to train future talents through the development and diffusion of marine robot kits. However, in conventional case, there is no marine robot-kit based on the balloon, which has the abilities of the airborne locomotion and obstacle avoidance. To solve this problem, a balloon-based autonomous airborne robot-kit that has the ability of the obstacle avoidance with an infrared sensor, is developed. The test and evaluation results show the possibility of the real applications and the necessity of additional work.
