In this paper an effort is made to develop an innovative spatial arrangement concept pertaining to ship building industry. The spatial scheduling is the problem that concentrates on effective planning of available space and arrangements of blocks and in a priority manner. In order to create an effective spatial scheduling. a database providing the priority has to be available to make the erection sequence. Such a system works hand in hand with erection sequence generator program The erection sequence program works on the conventional network analysis method which uses a typical parent-children idea for the calculation of the ENT(possible earliest network start time) and LNT(possible latest network start time). This program works in a cyclic manner taking turns by calculating the ENT in upward trace and LNT on the return trace thereby generating the entire erection sequence diagram for the requisite problem The generated database serves as an input data for spatial scheduling problem. When the system works it takes into consideration the entire system based on heuristic concepts as mentioned. There system uses the spatial aspects such as the available area of the P. E area and plan area of the corresponding blocks and its priority of erection from the erection sequence generator program develops the spatial scheduling arrangement. In this paper using all these concepts an innovative spatial schedule development system developed.
The aims of this study are 1) to construct a database using geostatistics and Geographic Information System (GIS), and 2) to derive the spatial relationships between manganese nodule abundance and other geological factors such as metal grade, slope, water depth, topography, and acoustic characteristics of the sub-bottom. Using GIS, it is possible to analyze a large amount of data efficiently, and to maximize the practical application, to increase specialization, and to enhance the accuracy of the analyses. The greater the copper and nickel grade, the higher the rating. The distribution pattern of nickel grade is similar to that of copper grade. The slopes are generally less than $3^{\circ}$ except for seamounts and cliff areas. The rating shows no correlation with slope. The rating is highest for slopes between 2.5 and $3.5^{\circ}$ in block N1 and between 4.0 and $4.5^{\circ}$ in block N3. The topography is classified into five groups: seamount, hill crest, hill slant, hill base or plain, and seafloor basin or valley. The rating proves lowest for seamount and hill crest. Our results show that the rating increases with the water depth in the study area. Nodule abundance dose not show any significant relationship with the thickness of the upper transparent layer in the study area.
The advent of high resolution products of surface wind and temperature derived by satellite data has permitted us to investigate ocean and atmosphere interaction studies in detail. Especially the Kuroshio extension region of the western North Pacific is considered to be a key area for such studies. We have constructed gridded products of surface wind/wind stress over the world ocean using satellite scatterometer (Qscat/SeaWinds), available as the Japanese Ocean Flux data sets with Use of Remote sensing Observation (J-OFURO). Using new data based on improved algorithm which have been recently delivered, we are reconstructing gridded product with higher spatial resolution. Intercomparison of this product with the previous one reveals that there are some discrepancies between them in short-period and high wind-speed ranges especially in the westerly wind region. The products are validated by not only comparisons with in-situ measurement data by mooring buoys such as TAO/TRITON in the tropical Pacific and the Kuroshio Extension Observation (KEO) buoys, but also intercomparison with numerical weather prediction model (NWPM) products (the NRA-1 and 2). Our products have much smaller mean difference in the study areas than the NWPM ones, meaning higher reliability compared with the NWPM products. Using the high resolution products together with sea surface temperature (SST) data, we examine a new type of relationship between the lower atmosphere and upper ocean in the Kuroshio Extension region. It is suggested that the spatial relation between the wind speed and SST depends upon, more or less, the surrounding oceanic condition.
The effect of coupled data assimilation (DA) on the meteorological prediction in the west coastal region of Korea was evaluated using a coupled atmosphere-ocean model (e.g., COAWST) in the spring (March 17-26) of 2019. We performed two sets of simulation experiments: (1) with the coupled DA (i.e., COAWST_DA) and (2) without the coupled DA (i.e., COAWST_BASE). Overall, compared with the COAWST_BASE simulation, the COAWST_DA simulation showed good agreement in the spatial and temporal variations of meteorological variables (sea surface temperature, air temperature, wind speed, and relative humidity) with those of the observations. In particular, the effect of the coupled DA on wind speed was greatly improved. This might be primarily due to the prediction improvement of the sea surface temperature resulting from the coupled DA in the study area. In addition, the improvement of meteorological prediction in COAWST_DA simulation was also confirmed by the comparative analysis between SST and other meteorological variables (sea surface wind speed and pressure variation).

Network RTK generally uses a linear interpolation method by using the corrections from reference stations. This minimizes the spatial decorrelation error caused by the increase of distance between the reference station's baseline and user's baseline. However, tropospheric delay, a function of the meteorological data can cause a spatial decorrelation characteristic among reference stations within a network by local meteorological difference. A non-linear characteristic of tropospheric delay can deteriorate Network RTK performance. In this paper, the modeling of tropospheric delay irregularity is made from the data when the typhoon is occurred. By using this modeling, analyzing the effect of meteorological difference between reference stations on correction is performed. Finally, we analyze an effect of non-linear characteristics of tropospheric delay among reference stations to Network RTK user.

As the data traffic between ships and a land station continuously increase through the shipbuilding-IT convergence, several wireless communication technologies are being studied to process large amounts of data traffic. In particular, the multi-antenna system is one of the most expected technologies to provide high throughput. This paper proposes an algorithm for the base station to select the ship in consideration of channel characteristics and the transmission angle for a beam of the land station in spatial multiplexing marine communication systems. We increase the system capacity by maximizing the received signal strength of the ship using clustering characteristic of the radio channel. Also, we reduce the time to select the ship by excluding the ship with the large interference between the beams. On our computer simulation, the proposed scheme dramatically reduces the computational complexity with a little sacrifice of the throughput.
We have persistently constructed gridded products of surface wind/wind stress over the world ocean using satellite scatterometer (ERS and Qscat). They are available for users as the Japanese Ocean Flux data sets with Use of Remote sensing Observation (J-OFURO) data together with heat flux components. Recently, a new version data of the Qscat/SeaWinds based on improved algorithm for rain flag and high wind-speed range have been delivered, and allowed us to reconstruct gridded product with higher spatial resolution. These products are validated by comparisons with in-situ measurement data by mooring buoys such as TAO/TRITON, NDBC and the Kuroshio Extension Observation (KEO) buoys, together with numerical weather prediction model products such as the NCEP-1 and 2. Results reveal that the new product has almost the same magnitude in mean difference as the previous version of Qscat product and much smaller than the NCEP-1 and 2. On the other hand, it is slightly larger root-mean-square (RMS) difference than the previous one and NCEPs for the comparison using the KEO buoy data. This may be due to the deficit of high wind speed data in the buoy measurement. The high resolution product, together with sea surface temperature (SST) one, is used to examine a new type of relationship between the lower atmosphere and upper ocean in the Kuroshio Extension region.

Side scan sonar using acoustic wave plays a very important role in the underwater, sea floor, and shallow marine geologic survey. In this study, we have acquired side scan sonar data for the underwater man-made structures, artificial reefs and fishing grounds, installed and distributed in the survey area. We applied digital image processing techniques to side scan sonar data in order to improve and enhance an image quality. We carried out digital image processing with various kinds of filtering in spatial domain and frequency domain. We tested filtering parameters such as kernel size, differential operator, and statistical value. We could easily estimate the conditions, distribution and environment of artificial structures through the interpretation of side scan sonar.

GIS (Geographic Information Systems) technology is a necessary function to support location based on service by using GPS in the mobile environment. These mobile systems have basic functional limitations such as a low rate of processing, limited memory capacity, and small screen size. Because of these limitations, most of the mobile systems require development of a reduced digital map to overcome problems with large-volume spatial data. In this paper, we suggest using the reduced digital map format in order to use location based on service in a PDA environment. The processing of the proposed data format consists of map generation, redefinition of layers, creating polygons, and format conversion. The proposed data format reduces the data size by about 98% comparing with DXF format based on the digital map of Busan.
Products of gridded surface wind and windstress vectors over the world ocean have been constructed by satellite scatterometer data with highly temporal and spatial resolutions. Even if the ADEOS-II/SeaWinds has supplied surface wind data only for short duration in Apr. to Oct. 2003 to us, it permits us to construct a product with higher resolution together with the Qscat/SeaWinds. In addition to our basic product with its resolution of $1^{\circ}\times1^{\circ}$ in space and daily in time, we try to construct products with $1/2^{\circ}\times1/2^{\circ}$ and semi- and quarter-daily resolution. These products are validated by inter-comparison with in-situ data (TAO and NDBC buoys), and also compared with numerical weather prediction(NWP) ones (NCEP reanalysis). Result reveals that our product has higher reliability in the study area than the NCEP's. For the open ocean regions in the middle and high latitudes where there are no in-situ data, we find that there are clear differences between them. Especially in the southern westerly region of 400-600S, the' wind-stress magnitudes by the NCEP are significantly larger than the others, suggesting that they are overestimated. We also calculate wind-stress curl field that is an important factor for ocean dynamics and focus its spatial character in the northwestern Pacific around Japan. Positive curl areas are found to cover from southwest to northeast in our focus region and almost correspond to the Kuroshio path. It is suggested that the vorticity field in the lower atmosphere is related to the upper oceanic one, and thus an aspect of air-sea interaction process.
