The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship among leisure supports, flow, and wellness of active senior leisure active participants. The subjects of the study were adults recruited from Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, and Jenla-do. For data processing, frequency, reliability, confirmatory factor, correlation, and structure equaling modeling analyses were conducted. The results were as follows. First, leisure supports of active seniors had an influence on leisure flow (p<.01). Second, leisure supports of active seniors had an influence on wellness (p<.01). Third, leisure flow of active seniors had an influence on wellness (p<.01). At this point in time as an aging society, active seniors are participating in leisure activities in a continuous pursuit of a healthy and happy old age by identifying the relationship between leisure support, leisure flow and wellness. This study suggests that our society should make an effort to participate in leisure and wellness activities.

In the past, waves, which are the main external forces acting on marine and coastal structures, have been dealt with only in terms of safety. Recently, various studies have been conducted to define the characteristics of waves in a specific area in order to respond to the increasing demand for diversified marine activities such as ocean energy development and marine leisure sports. Although the characteristics of waves are specific to the site, the available spectrum model proposed in previous studies are limited. In this study, we analyzed the shape of the ocean wave spectrum by comparing it with the standard spectrum model.

The tourism industry is considered as the world largest industry and it is assessed as the most effective way to create employment. In particular, the marine tourism industry such as marine leisure sports, cruise can create high added value so that its significance has been more emphasized. Korea has natural tourist attractions such as more than 3,000 islands, about 12,000km lengths coastline, wide wetlands and beautiful seascape. In addition, the establishment of the five-day workweek and the development of means of transportation make the policy demand of the public for marine tourism increase continuously. However, Korea currently lacks policy and system for revitalizing marine tourism industry as the new growth engine and has not made good use of its retained tourist resource. Accordingly, this study explores the current situation and challenges of Korean marine tourism industry and further analyses the limits of the national legal systems for marine tourism. Lastly, it suggests policy recommendation for promoting marine tourism industry.

Cisplatin is widely known as an anti-cancer drug. However, the effects of cisplatin on mitochondrial function and autophagy-related proteins levels in the skeletal muscle are unclear. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of different doses of cisplatin on mitochondrial function and autophagy-related protein levels in the skeletal muscle of rats. Eight-week-old male Wistar rats (n = 24) were assigned to one of three groups; the first group was administered a saline placebo (CON, n = 10), and the second and third groups were given 0.1 mg/kg body weight (BW) (n = 6), and 0.5 mg/kg BW (n = 8) of cisplatin, respectively. The group that had been administered 0.5 mg cisplatin exhibited a reduced BW, skeletal muscle tissue weight, and mitochondrial function and upregulated levels of autophagy-related proteins, including LC3II, Beclin 1, and BNIP3. Moreover, this group had a high LC3 II/I ratio in the skeletal muscle; i.e., the administration of a high dose of cisplatin decreased the muscle mass and mitochondrial function and increased the levels of autophagy-related proteins. These results, thus, suggest that reducing mitochondrial dysfunction and autophagy pathways may be important for preventing skeletal muscle atrophy following cisplatin administration.

In the middle of economic and mental riches in the 21st century, the importance of well being and the pursuit of happiness are emerging as the new trend. Thus the lifestyle that values comfortable and practical naturalness and intrinsic merits has come to influence the human life rather than the old showing-off and formal desire. In addition to this, the spread of the five day week has given more leisure time, which has led to the increasing interest in health and leisure. The interest in sports has skyrocketed since the successful holding of the 2002 Korea and Japan World Cup event. All these changes to the lifestyle have contributed to the fusion of luxury wear and sports wear. As the result of the consumers in the 21st century having more classified and upgraded way of living thanks to the settlement of the above-mentioned lifestyle and the enlargement of the leisure sports culture, there has appeared the wellness kin, who value the importance of life and the nature and believe in the idea that they can reconstruct the environment in the way they can enjoy their lifestyle and pursue happiness. They favor healthy fashion items and think much of exercise, nutrition, and rest. They pursue the natural and comfortable style, whose ideas came from simple exercises such as health training and yoga and the easy and comfortable look observed at resorts. Their fashion style can be divided into three of fitness fashion, yoga fashion and resort fashion. First, the boxer fashion is characterized by the relaxing design and practicality. The major items of the fashion include running shirt-styled upper clothes, training pants, hooded shirts and sneakers. Simple and comfortable look should be induced from the combination of the items. Second, the yoga fashion was motivated by the comfortable yoga wear. It advocates stress-free spirit and comfortable and stable naturalism. Along with the advantages of the good feeling to wear and the functionality to help exercise better, the yoga fashion gives the wearer enough room to move around in, using the unique lines. Third, the resort wear refers to the kinds of clothes you tend to wear at the beach and the park. There are various kinds of the resort look; bathing suits, the beach wear you can wear with the bathing suit, the resort evening wear, the full-side look that you try on top of the bathing suit and is made of the same material of the bathing suit, and the marine look, the symbol of the summer. In short, the study attempted to investigate many trends occurring as the result of human recent increasing interest and concern in the quality of life, and the impacts of them on the fashion world. This kind of research that examines the background of the times and society will help to grasp with the fashion trends of the present and the future. And more studies should be conducted on the development of new and original design in clothes fashion, which reflects the characteristics identified in this kind of research.

This study aims at analyzing the potential of leports-fishing for improving fishing household income. Leports-fishing is a composite concept which is combined with those of leisure, sports and fishing. Korean on-shore resources have also a composite characteristic. The characteristics of the east, west and south coastal waters are quite different in geography, biology and ecology. There is a array of leports-fishing development potentials of utilizing their characteristics. At present, angling forms a main activity of leports-fishing, but coastal seas would be an emerging space for the public. In order for them to be a ground of fun, enjoyment and festivals, there would be necessary to supply a wide range of activities including angling, scuba diving, fish barbecue, ecological experience, fishing experience, cruise, and so forth. As seen in the survey results, the participants have strong desire for fun and enjoyment through leports-fishing activities. The proportion of people participating in one or two times a year amounts to 40 percent. Most coastal places visited are close to medium/large cities and two-days leports-fishing/ tourism accounts for some 77 percent. However, it is shown that conflicts between leports-fishing participants and fishermen are not serious. The results of expenditure function estimation appear that the elasticity of per capita income is very high with 1.2660 and that there are negative relationships between leports-fishing expenditure and transportation/food/lodging costs. Assuming the economic growth rate of 4 percent, it is anticipated that Korean leports-fishing population will increase to 3.18 million in 2010 and 4.07 million in 2015. Korean leports-fishing market potential in 2015, which is calculated based on per capita expenditure on leports-fishing appeared to be 1,400 billion won$\sim$1,600 billion won. The contribution of such market potential is expected to be 62.3$\sim$74.2 percent(934.5 billion won$\sim$111.3 billion won) to the fishing households.

Bromotopsentin (BSM) is a bisindole alkaloid compound, which is recognized as a metabolite of the marine sponge Spongosorites sp. In this study, the antioxidant activity of BSM was investigated. The 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) free radical scavenging assay, the trolox equivalent antioxidant capacity (TEAC) assay, the superoxide radical scavenging (NBT) assay, the lipid peroxidation and hydroxyl radical-induced DNA damage assays were carried out to evaluate the antioxidant activity of BSM. It was found that BSM had stronger scavenging activity on the stable free radical DPPH and superoxide radical than L-ascorbic acid with an $IC_{50}$ value of 62 and 64 ${\mu}M$, respectively. The TEAC value which indicated the total antioxidant capacity of BSM was about 0.8, which was also stronger than L-ascorbic acid. About 1.3 ${\mu}M$ of BSM induced 50% inhibition of lipid peroxidation. 60 nM of BSM exhibited a significant protective activity against DNA strand scission by hydroxyl radical on pBR322 DNA. Taken together, we suggest that BSM possesses strong antioxidant activity, and could be a valuable new addition to the list of anti-aging chemotherapeutic agents.

This study suggests a navigation route for maritime tourism cruise sail yacht that sails off from Yeosu, and passes by Baekdo and Geomundo with their live island culture, to Kimnyeonghang of the Jeju islands. Recently, there are increasing number of accidents in proportion to vitalizing marine leisure. That's why it should be examined by region and sea when developing safe sea route considering characteristics of the sailing yacht. Thus, it is needed to introduce marine culture, hold international sailing yacht race and develop multi-functional sea port according to the case of Geomundo. Also additional analysis for navigation ruote patterns and density of the fairway is required. This information will improve safe sailing level of sailing yacht that will help the local tourism industry.

Sunscreen is a product that protects against ultraviolet rays by blocking and scattering ultraviolet rays, and has now become a daily necessity beyond cosmetics. Applying sunscreen is a common and easy way to prevent skin damage caused by ultraviolet rays. Due to its significance, the evaluation of sunscreen has evolved since its regulation by the FDA in 1978, progressing to standardized methods established by ISO. Additionally, to assess the loss of sunscreen due to activities such as water exposure or sweating, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in Korea and ISO have established protocols for evaluating the water-resistant sun protection factor (SPF). However, existing evaluations of water resistance have been mainly confined to test methods involving plain water, and methods accounting for the impact of seawater during activities like beach leisure, sports, and recreation are yet to be established. Based on the existing guidelines for testing the water-resistant UV protection index, this study compared the water-resistant UV protection index in water, artificial seawater (salt water) and natural seawater (sea water) to evaluate the UV protection index in real-world situations such as marine leisure, sports, and leisure activities. Through these results, we were able to compare the differences between water resistance sun protection index tests in ordinary water, artificial seawater, and natural seawater, and suggest a method for water resistance sun protection index tests using natural seawater.

This study is to investigate the effect of the amusement factor and the motive of participation in skin-scuba class on the satisfaction with university life with the university students participating in the skin-scuba class and to provide the practical research data for the development of the marine sports, for the proper operation of skin-scuba class, and for the leisure life which the university students may lack. For these purposes, technical statistics between questions were disposed in order to grasp the average and standard deviation on each variables, exploratory factor analysis and reliability analysis were conducted for the reliability and validity of the scale, and correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were conducted to test the casuality of amusement factor, the motive of participation in skin-scuba class and the satisfaction with university life as the research methods. Research results showed that it was confirmed that the amusement factor and the motive of participation in skin-scuba class act as the important variables in the satisfaction with university life and it was predicted that the motive of participation in skin-scuba class and the amusement factor had interrelation with parameter. Therefore, a variety of programs reflecting the amusement factors should motivate the university students to particiapte in the skin-scuba class to increase the satisfaction with university life and to encourage the re-participation of students.
