언어적인 항해안전정보 지원을 위한 의미해석 모델 구축에 관한 연구 (The Design of a Meaning Interpretation Model for Supporting Linguistic Navigation Safety Information)

  • 선박의 항해사가 안전 항해를 위해 GPS, ARPA, AIS, NAVTEX, VHF 등 다수의 항해장비가 제공하는 화상, 수치, 텍스트 및 음성 정보를 숙지하여야 하나, 항해당직에 임하면서 동시에 이들 정보를 획득하여 안전 항해를 위한 판단자료로 활용하는 것은 대단히 번거롭고 어려운 작업이다. 따라서 이들 멀티미디어 항해안전정보를 이해하고 융합하여 항해사가 처한 상황을 인식하고 항해사의 의사결정에 필요한 정보를 추론하여 언어로서 제공해주는 시스템이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 멀티미디어 항해안전정보를 이해하고 융합하여 언어로 제공하는데 필요한 의미해석 모델을 Semantic Network를 이용하여 구축하고자 한다.

굴곡된 수로 통항에서 조선자의 주관적 위험감지도와 조종위험도와의 상관관계에 관한 기초 연구 (A Study on the Correlation between Shiphandler's Subjective Evaluation and Maneuvering Risk in Curved Narrow channel)

  • The assesment of the safety of ship's transit in a curved narrow channel consists of the maneuvering safety determined by the chance of running aground, the maneuvering difficulty determined by ship's workload, and shiphandler's subjective evaluation. In this study to examine the correlation between shiphandler's subjective evaluation and the maneuvering risk, the real-time and full-mission shiphandling simulator in the Korea Marine Training & Research Institutes(KMTRI) was utilized. On the conning bridge of the shiphandling simulator, 50 experienced masters conducted the modeled vessel of 60,000 deadweight tonnage along the designed channel under 3 different environmental conditions. The findings were as follows : (1) The frequencies of stress levels, work difficulties, vessel controllability and overall workload of shiphandlers are similar irrespective of environmental conditions and they are able to be represented as shiphandler's subjective evaluation. (2) It s possible to assess and analyze theoretically the correlation between the shiphandler's subjective evaluation and maneuvering risk under each environmental condition by quantifying the data obtained from the test. The results are as follows : ① As the degree of maneuvering risk increases, the shiphandler's subjective evaluation increases sharply near the curvature area of the designed channel. ② In the area of the curvature of the designed channel, maneuvering risk sincreases sharply with the danger of running aground under the environmental condition of current and wind coming from the stern.

Identification and Characterization of an Antifungal Protein, AfAFPR9, Produced by Marine-Derived Aspergillus fumigatus R9

  • A fungal strain, R9, was isolated from the South Atlantic sediment sample and identified as Aspergillus fumigatus. An antifungal protein, AfAFPR9, was purified from the culture supernatant of Aspergillus fumigatus R9. AfAFPR9 was identified to be restrictocin, which is a member of the ribosome-inactivating proteins (RIPs), by MALDI-TOF-TOF-MS. AfAFPR9 displayed antifungal activity against plant pathogenic Fusarium oxysporum, Alternaria longipes, Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, Paecilomyces variotii, and Trichoderma viride at minimum inhibitory concentrations of 0.6, 0.6, 1.2, 1.2, and 2.4 μg/disc, respectively. Moreover, AfAFPR9 exhibited a certain extent of thermostability, and metal ion and denaturant tolerance. The iodoacetamide assay showed that the disulfide bridge in AfAFPR9 was indispensable for its antifungal action. The cDNA encoding for AfAFPR9 was cloned from A. fumigatus R9 by RT-PCR and heterologously expressed in E. coli. The recombinant AfAFPR9 protein exhibited obvious antifungal activity against C. gloeosporioides, T. viride, and A. longipes. These results reveal the antifungal properties of a RIP member (AfAFPR9) from marine-derived Aspergillus fumigatus and indicated its potential application in controlling plant pathogenic fungi.

울산 태화강 하구역 퇴적물의 유기물 및 미량금속 오염도 평가 (Evaluation of Pollution Level for Organic Matter and Trace Metals in Sediments around Taehwa River Estuary, Ulsan)

  • Grain size, the content of ignition loss (IL), and the concentrations of chemical oxygen demand (COD), acid volatile sulfide (AVS), and trace metals (Fe, Mn, Cu, Pb, Zn, Cd, Cr, As, and Hg) in surface sediments from the Taehwa River estuary, Ulsan, were measured to evaluate pollution levels and potential ecological risks of organic matter and trace metals in estuarine sediment. The mean grain size (Mz) of sediments in the study region ranged from $-0.8-7.7{\varphi}$ (mean $2.8{\pm}2.4{\varphi}$). Surface sediments in the upstream region of the Taehwa River were mainly composed of coarse sediments compared to the downstream region. The concentrations of IL, COD, AVS and trace metals in the sediment were much higher at downstream sites of Myeongchon Bridge in the vicinity of industrial complexes than at upstream sites of those in the vicinity of the residential areas due to the anthropogenic input of organic matter and trace metals by industrial activities. On the basis of several geochemical assessment techniques [sediment quality guidelines (SQGs), enrichment factor (EF), geoaccumulation index ($I_{geo}$), pollution load index (PLI) and ecological risk index (ERI)], the surfaces sediments in the study region are not highly polluted for trace metals, except for As. However, the higher concentrations in downstream study regions of the Taehwa River could impact benthic organisms including shellfish (i.e. Manila clam) in sediments.

A Trial Toward Marine Watch System by Image Processing

  • This paper describes a marine watch system on a ship, which is aided by an image processing method. The system detects other ships through a navigational image sequence to prevent oversights, and it measures their bearings to maintain their movements. The proposed method is described, the detection techniques and measurement of bearings techniques are derived, and the results have been reported. The image is divided into small regions on the basis of the brightness value and then labeled. Each region is considered as a template. A template is assumed to be a ship. Then, the template is compared with frames in the original image after a selected time. A moving vector of the regions is calculated using an Excel table. Ships are detected using the characteristics of the moving vector. The video camera captures 30 frames per second. We segmented one frame into approximately 5000 regions; from these, approximately 100 regions are presumed to be ships and considered to be templates. Each template was compared with frames captured at 0.33 s or 0.66 s. In order to improve the accuracy, this interval was changed on the basis of the magnification of the video camera. Ships’ bearings also need to be determined. The proposed method can measure the ships’ bearings on the basis of three parameters: (1) the course of the own ship, (2) arrangement between the camera and hull, and (3) coordinates of the ships detected from the image. The course of the own ship can be obtained by using a gyrocompass. The camera axis is calibrated along a particular direction using a stable position on a bridge. The field of view of the video camera is measured from the size of a known structure on the hull in the image. Thus, ships’ bearings can be calculated using these parameters.

선내 항해통신장비 및 추진장비에 대한 전자파환경 연구 (A study on the Electromagnetic Environment for the Navigation Device and Propulsion Device in Ship)

  • 육상에서의 전자파 환경에 대한 연구는 지속적인 투자와 연구가 이루어지고 있지만 해상의 환경인 선박의 전자파 환경에 관한 시험 및 분석은 연구되어 지지 않는 실정이다. 선박은 최상층 갑판구역, 선교, 기관실로 구성되어있다. 최상층갑판구역은 안테나 및 레이더가 탑재되어 있다. 선교는 안전한 항해를 위한 항해장비가 탑재되어있다. 마지막으로 기관실에서는 선박의 추진시스템에 사용되는 배전반이 탑재되어있다. 따라서 본 연구는 선박이라는 특정 공간에서의 전자파 환경을 분석 후 해상환경에 적용 가능한 최적 기준을 제안하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 국내외 전자파 기준을 활용하여 실선 한국해양대학교 실습선 한바다 호를 측정 후 측정결과를 국내 기준, 이탈리아 기준과 분석하여 선박의 기관실에 대한 국내 기준 적용에 한계가 있음을 확인하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 추후 선박의 전자파 인체 보호 기준 정립을 위한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • 최근 플랜트산업분야에서는 발전설비와 해양 플랜트 및 선박, 교량 건설등 핵심 구조물들에 대한 내구성 향상 및 평가를 위한 기술이 크게 확장 적용될 것으로 본다. 이에 본 연구에서는 초음파 탄성진동에너지를 이용한 초음파 나노표면개질(Ultrasonic Nanocrystalline Surface Modification) 기술과 초음파 피로시험(Ultrasonic Fatigue Test)기술을 통해서 현재까지 국내산업분야에서 활발하게 진행중인 적용사례를 분석하고자 하였으며. 플랜트분야 특히 발전설비와 해양선박 플랜트 및 교량 건설구조물들의 핵심 용접부에 대한 내구성 향상을 위해 크게 확장 적용될 수 있는 새로운 응용기술 연구방향에 대한 방법들을 제시하고자 한다.

해양 환경하 콘크리트 교량의 염해환경 성능평가 연구 (A Study on the Evaluation of the Environmental Performance of Salt Damage in Concrete Bridges under Marine Environment)

  • This study aims to investigate in the assessment of salt damage conditions in concrete structures under marine environment conditions. It aims also to improve the durability of new concrete bridge through applying the life prediction method of salt damaged bridges. As measuring chloride contents of these bridges on the southwest coastal area, it is shown that the average amount of chloride on these surfaces close to shore is $10.5kg/m^3$. This figure is much higher than that of the Standard Specification for Concrete($1.5kg/m^3{\sim}2.5kg/m^3$). In contrast, it is shown the average amount of chloride on these surfaces in tide zone is $13.1kg/m^3$. Its figure is much lower than that of the Standard Specification for Concrete($20kg/m^3$). And the life of bridges is estimated about 17 years. To improve the durability for salt damage, these bridges are applied to surface treatment method which the replacement rate of furnace slag is 60%. Under this condition, it is expected to be 110 years. Consequently, it is clear that the use of slag replacement rate, surface treatment agent, and anti-corrosion agent to control chloride penetration effects of a submerge-based concrete bridge will be required.

효율적인 어업실습선의 선교 layout을 위한 당직항해사의 업무특성 분석 (Analysis characteristics of officers' watch-keeping for efficient navigation bridge layout of a fisheries training vessel)

  • This study analyzed characteristics of officers' watch-keeping during fishing operation at the fisheries training ship KAYA (GT: 1,737 tons, Pukyong National University). It observed fishing works of three officers in wheel house of KAYA. The observations were carried out at the fishing ground 45 miles away from east of Jeju from 7 to 8 January 2010. The works and movements of the officers were recorded with three common video cameras and a 4-channel MPEG-4 Triplex DVR. Recorded data of the working circulation was analyzed by using the post-processing method. As a result of the traffic lines, the average (${\pm}S.D$) of working hour (min) and moving frequency (times), distance (m) and speed (m/min) during setting the net was 11.8 (0.9), 43.7 (8.1), 133.9 (35.8) and 10.5 (0.6), respectively. During trawling the net, it was 100, 241 (39.8), 615.7 (194.6) and 5.2 (1.6), respectively. During hauling the net, it was 17.6 (1.4), 41.0 (7.2), 196.9 (37.6) and 10.7 (0.8), respectively. In addition, it has a different tendency of the instrument usage frequency by the fishing works. During setting, the usage priority was CCTV, ECDIS, RPM and pitch controller, net monitor, GPS plotter, chart room, X-band radar, fish finder and public addressor. During trawling, it was CCTV, ECDIS, fish finder, X-band radar, net monitor, chart room, GPS plotter, RPM and pitch controller, auto pilot and steering, interphone, wind speed and direction indicator, No.1. VHF, navigation light control panel and public addressor. During hauling, it was CCTV, RPM and pitch controller, GPS plotter, public addressor, chart room, net monitor, X-band radar, auto pilot and steering and fish finder.

부산 신항-낙동강 하구역 연결잔교부의 물질수송 해석(II) - 잔교주변 해저수심변화에 따른 해수소통량 예측 - (Estimation of Sea Water Transport by Water-depth Variation at Pier-bridge between Busan New-port and the Nakdong River Estuary)

  • 부산 신항과 낙동강 하구역의 접점인 연결잔교를 통해 소통되는 해수수송 특성을 파악하기 위해 수치모형실험을 통해 대상해역의 해수유동장을 재현하고 연결잔교 주변의 해저수심변화를 가지는 3가지 시나리오를 설정하여 각 시나리오별 연결잔교부를 통한 해수소통 변화를 예측하였다. 수치모의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1) 신항만 지역에 항내매몰로 수심이 저감된 경우(수심 10 m 가정)에는 약 $0.7{\sim}18.4%$ 해수소통량이 저감되었다. 2) 해수소통을 위해 낙동강 하구역 지역에 수로준설(수심 5 m 가정)을 할 경우 약 $3.5{\sim}21.9%$의 해수소통량이 증가하였다.
