  • Because the building of new meteorological observation towers requires high cost, a collection of precise meteorological data over city area is not easy. To collect atmosphere environment data or meteorological data precisely, a new approach is required. This paper introduces a new meteorological data collecting system using the public traffic systems such as regular route bus. On real time, the regular route bus can provide a meteorological data in periodic time interval and provide them on static route. Without constructing new facilities, only simple sensing and transmission equipments to attach on the bus are needed.

  • Maturity models allow organizations to assess and compare their own practices against best practices or those employed by competitors, with the intention to map out a structured path to improvement. This research explores the aspects of the Maturity Models that are relevant to distinguish them from one to another. The different Project Management maturity models for define maturity differently and measure different things to determine maturity. Because of this, organizations should give careful consideration to select appropriate maturity model. The main reason behind this research lies on the modification to the existing Organizational Project Management Maturity Model (OPM3) by adding four knowledge areas, dedicated to construction industry as best practices. These are Safety, Environment, Financial and Claim Management. This Model contains (Yes/No) questions; all of these questions must be answered before the user reviews the results that describe the overall maturity and areas of strength and weakness of an organization. The research presents the implementation of the proposed Model Construction Enterprises Maturity Model (CEM2). All the components of the developed Model have been implemented in Microsoft Access. CEM2 helps Construction Enterprises to assess their Maturity Level and know Areas of Weaknesses for future improvement. The easy to use Yes/No user interfaces help enterprises' employees to assess the maturity level of their enterprises. The Model maintains users' responses in its database; as such, many employees from different enterprise divisions can be involved during assessment phase in several sessions.

  • The most important component of wind turbine is rotor blades. The developing method of wind turbine was focused on design of rotor blade. By the way, the design of a rotating body is more decisive process in order to adjust the performance of wind turbine. For instance, the design allows the designer to specify the wind characteristics derived by topographical map. The iterative solver is then used to adjust one of the selected inputs so that the desired rotating performance which is directly related to power generating capacity and efficiency is achieved. Furthermore, in order to save the money for manufacturing the rotor blades and to decrease the maintenance fee of wind power generation plant, while decelerating the cut-in speed of rotor. Therefore, the design and manufacturing of rotating body is understood as a substantial technology of wind power generation plant development. The aiming of this study is building-up the profitable approach to designing of rotating body as a system for the wind power generation plant. The process was conducted in two steps. Firstly, general designing and it’s serial testing of rotating body for voltage measurement. Secondly, the serial test results above were examined with the CFD code. Then, the analysis is made on the basis of amount of electricity generated by rotor-blades and of cut-in speed of generator.

  • In this paper, we design and implement an analytics platform based on bulk cargo DTG data for crackdown on overloaded trucks. DTG(digital tachograph) is a device that stores the driving record in real time; that is, it is a device that records the vehicle driving related data such as GPS, speed, RPM, braking, and moving distance of the vehicle in one second unit. The fast processing of DTG data is essential for finding vehicle driving patterns and analytics. In particular, a big data analytics platform is required for preprocessing and converting large amounts of DTG data. In this paper, we implement a big data analytics framework based on cargo DTG data using Spark, which is an open source-based big data framework for crackdown on overloaded trucks. As the result of implementation, our proposed platform converts real large cargo DTG data sets into GIS data, and these are visualized by a map. It also recommends crackdown points.

  • Detecting obstacles and generating a suitable path to avoid obstacles in real time is a prime mission requirement for UAVs. In areas, close to buildings and people, detecting obstacles in the path and estimating its own position (egomotion) in GPS degraded/denied environments are usually addressed with vision-based Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) techniques. This presents possibilities and challenges for the feasible path generation with constraints of vehicle dynamics in the configuration space. In this paper, a near real-time feasible path is shown to be generated in the ORB-SLAM framework using a chain-based path planning approach in a force field with dynamic constraints on path length and minimum turn radius. The chain-based path plan approach generates a set of nodes which moves in a force field that permits modifications of path rapidly in real time as the reward function changes. This is different from the usual approach of generating potentials in the entire search space around UAV, instead a set of connected waypoints in a simulated chain. The popular ORB-SLAM, suited for real time approach is used for building the map of the environment and UAV position and the UAV path is then generated continuously in the shortest time to navigate to the goal position. The principal contribution are (a) Chain-based path planning approach with built in obstacle avoidance in conjunction with ORB-SLAM for the first time, (b) Generation of path with minimum overheads and (c) Implementation in near real time.

  • It was believed that Jeongnimsa temple was built after the capital was moved from Gongju to Buyeo. It was confirmed that it was built A.D. $625{\pm}20$ by conducting a paleomagnetic analysis on the fireplace, which was recently found at the bottom of Jungmunji(middle gate). Consequently, it is assumed that the temple was built in the early 7th century unlike the previous point of view. Therefore, this study evaluated if the fireplace at the bottom of Jungmunji was found at the geological stratum representing the Jeongnimsa temple. Moreover, the study examined when the fireplace at the bottom of Jungmunji was constructed on the soil stratum. It is possible that the fireplace was built in the early 7th century as shown in the paleomagnetic analysis. However, when we compared the soil strata of the Jungmunji and the existing five-story stone pagoda, it showed that the ground was prepared differently and they were built over a fairly long period of time. Furthermore, I discovered that there was a wooden pagoda under the five-story stone pagoda by examining the soil strata map. Therefore, previous studies evaluated the arrangement of auxiliary buildings of Jeongnimsa temple and concluded that it was built in the early 7th century. It is hard to determine when the temple was built based on the arrangement of auxiliary buildings, because it takes a long time to build a temple and auxiliary buildings can be relocated during this long construction period. Rather, we have to admit that there are various arrangement patterns through minor changes in buildings from the one pagoda and one main building(Geumdang) arrangement.

  • This paper reports a programming toolkit for implementing localization and navigation of a mobile robot both in real world and simulation. Many of the previous function libraries are difficult to use because of their complexity or lack of usability. The proposed toolkit consist of functions for dead reckoning, motion model, measurement model, and operations on directions or heading angles. The dead reckoning and motion model deals with differential drive robot and bicycle type robot driven by front wheel or rear wheel. The functions can be used for navigation in both real environment and simulation. To prove the feasibility of the toolkit, simulation results are shown along with the results in real environment. It is expected the proposed toolkit is used for test of algorithms for mobile robot navigation such as localization, map building, and obstacle avoidance.

  • Accurate 3D models in urban areas are essential for a variety of applications, such as virtual visualization, CIS, and mobile communications. LiDAR(Light Detection and Ranging) is a relatively new technology for directly obtaining 3D points. Because Manual 3D data reconstruction from LiDAR data is very costly and time consuming, many researchs is focused on the automatic extraction of the useful data. In this paper, we classified ground and non-ground points data from LiDAR data by using filtering, and we reconstructed the DTM(Digital Terrain Model) using ground points data, buildings using nonground points data. After the reconstruction, we assessed the accuracy of the DTM and buildings. As a result of, DTM from LiDAR data were 0.16m and 0.59m in high raised apartments areas and low house areas respectively, and buildings were matched with the accuracy of a l/5,000 digital map.
