  • In recent years, ESG activities (Environment, Social and Governance) have been paid more and more attention by enterprises and their stakeholders in various countries. China is the largest developing country in the world. The ESG performance of Chinese listed enterprises helps to understand the shortcomings of their sustainable development ability and further enhance the firm value. Moreover, the interaction effect between green innovation investment and ESG activities is of great significance for enterprises to balance the resource allocation between the two factors in the future. Taking listed Chinese manufacturing companies from 2011 to 2020 as an example, this study investigates the influence of ESG activities on financial performance and non-financial performance, and tests the moderating role of green innovation. Our results show that: (1) ESG performance has a negative impact on financial performance; (2) ESG performance has a positive impact on non-financial performance; (3) Green innovation can positively adjust the negative impact of environmental activities on financial performance. However, it will enhance the negative impact of governance activities on financial performance. The interaction effect between green innovation and social activities on corporate financial performance is a substitution effect; (4) With the improvement of green innovation level, the positive impact of ESG overall performance and environmental performance on corporate reputation will also be suppressed.

  • Globally, there is a collaborative effort to achieve global carbon neutrality in response to climate change. In the case of South Korea, greenhouse gas emissions are rapidly increasing, presenting an urgent situation that requires resolution. In this context, this study developed a thermal energy collection device named a 'steam trap' and created an AI model capable of predicting future electricity usage by collecting energy usage data through steam traps. The average accuracy of electricity usage prediction with this AI model was 96.7%, demonstrating high precision. Consequently, the AI model enables the prediction and management of days with high electricity consumption and identifies which facilities contribute to elevated power usage. Future research aims to optimize energy consumption efficiency through efficient equipment operation using anomaly detection in steam traps and standardizing energy management systems, with the ultimate goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

  • This research proposes an implementation method of linearized equations of motion for multibody systems with closed loops. The null space of the constraint Jacobian is first pre-multiplied to the equations of motion to eliminate the Lagrange multiplier and the equations of motion are reduced down to a minimum set of ordinary differential equations. The resulting differential equations are functions of all relative coordinates, velocities, and accelerations. Since the variables are tightly coupled by the position, velocity, and acceleration level coordinates, direct substitution of the relationships among these variables yields very complicated equations to be implemented. As a consequence, the reduced equations of motion are perturbed with respect to the variations of all variables, which are coupled by the constraints. The position velocity and acceleration level constraints are also perturbed to obtain the relationships between the variations of all relative coordinates, velocities, and accelerations and variations of the independent ones. The Perturbed constraint equations are then simultaneously solved for variations of all variables only in terms of the variations of the independent variables. Finally, the relationships between the variations of all variables and these of the independent ones are substituted into the variational equations of motion to obtain the linearized equations of motion only in terms of the independent variables variations.

  • In the quality assurance check process of DC motor systems, even though the overall sound pressure level is acceptable, there is an incident that subjective evaluation leads to failure in product quality due to annoying noise. This kind of problem may be originated from the manufacturing or assembly process. In this paper, the transient spectral analysis, or the time-frequency analysis is applied to the noise quality problem. For the case study, the cause of annoying noise in the wind shield wiper motor is experimentally analyzed in detail. It is concluded that the defect in the shaft causes the impact noise which is not detectable by steady spectral analysis. Also demonstrated is how the time-frequency analysis is effectively applied to the annoying noise identification of the rotor-gear system.

  • The industrial revolution in England was based on the manufacturing systems by the power of water mill and rapidly progressed by the innovation of steam engine. It is no exaggeration to say that today's civilization is realized by the development of various types of power machinery, namely fluid machinery and heat engine. The electric energy is converted mainly from thermal energy (mainly steam) of mineral oil, coal and nuclear fuel through generator connected with steam turbine which is a kind of power machinery. There are various types of power machinery as shown in Tables 1a and 1b. They are classified into two types by use. One is absorption type of fluid and/or thermal energy, for examples, windmill and heat engine. The other is provision type of the energies for examples, pump, compressor and propulsion. By flow type, they are also classified by two types, turbo type and positive-displacement type. The turbo type began from water mill and windmill and evolve to steam turbine and finally to gas turbine. The positive-displacement type started from reciprocating water pump and developed into steam engine and changed to reciprocating combustion engine. The pumps and motors used in oil hydraulic system for power control are also positive-displacement type.

  • Logistics is by no means a new subject area. The concept of logistics goes way become more complex as technology advances, and logistics requirements have increased accordingly. In 1964, when ILS philosophy formally came into being, ILS was defined in general terms and did not describe what actions an ILS program should accomplish. ILS philosophy have been developed from 1964 through 1980. In 1982, United States Department of Defense formulated a new concept, CALS. CALS is the strategy that the US defense development to management the transition to integration and automated interchange in defense system engineering, manufacturing, and logistic support. Its goal is to use the inherent features of digitized data to revolutionize the function of data -gathering, data storage and data - transfer techologies associared with the development of defense systems. The Result will be systems that are cheaper, more reliable, and easier to maintain. To define CALS's character, the purpose of this papers compare two concepts - CALS and ILS. The elements of CALS consist of standads and EDI. The elements of ILS include LCC(Life Cycle Cost), LSA(Logistics Support Analysis), LSAR(Logistics Support Analysis Rcord), Aquisition Cycle.

  • A large ship usually consists of 300 to 500 blocks, for which it is extremely difficult to monitor the whole manufacturing processes from assembly to erection. In an effort to unify all the data and procedures, shipbuilding companies are installing ERP systems, which have brought great improvement throughout the company as a whole. In some departments, however, the ERP systems are not being fully utilized. This paper analyzes and solves the problems revealed especially at the production departments after an ERP system is installed. In this research, firstly a TOC(Theory of Constraints) analysis is done to find out the best solution for those problems. Secondly, based on the solution found, a Monitoring System for hull construction processes is developed with an improved user interface. The visualization of data is designed to reflect the needs of the production departments. The new system supplements the ERP system in that it selectively utilizes the unified data base and is operated under ERP environment. The system is installed in the production departments and its usefulness is verified.
