Analysis of the Industrial Linkage between Manufacturing and Service Industries and Its Implications: Comparison of Seoul and Busan (지역별 제조업과 서비스업의 상호 연관성 분석과 시사점: 서울과 부산의 비교)

  • The purpose of this paper is to analyze the industrial linkage between manufacturing and service industries in Seoul and Busan. In this paper, the industrial linkage between the manufacturing and the service industry is analyzed through input-output coefficient and production inducement coefficient. The results are as follows. First, the linkage of the service industry to the manufacturing in Seoul was higher than that of Busan. Second, Busan had a low input proportion of the service industry supplied by its own area to the manufacturing, so that the effect of the growth of Busan manufacturing on the regional economy is limited. Third, the linkage of manufacturing to service industry in Busan was found to be higher than that of Seoul. Finally, policy directions for improving the industrial linkage between manufacturing and service industries were suggested based on the results.

  • The result of management profits create to manufacturing activity. The gross sale profits must be maximum thraw spend of economic value. The profit maximum have to management based key value driver of manufacturing activity. The important factors of the study model are manufacturing value driver(MVD) and manufacturing value added(MVA). We show necessity of management based value by means of a case study.

  • The paper examines the cost analysis and economic evaluation for manufacturing system installation in a metal industry. The evaluation procedure is consist of four steps. 1) Attribute determination of manufacturing system 2) Cost Estimating 3) Alternative and Model determination of manufacturing system 4) Economic Analysis. The impact of manufacturing system installations on employment displacement and strategic benefit is discussed and suggested to make a coherent determination of company's objective.

  • To secure a good quality computer program, the software manufacturing procedure is carefully studied into 2 categories, manufacturing and developing phase. The former consists of 8 steps which are divided into 2 main categories, work-contains and documentation, the letter contains work planning, progress management, walk through and quality control. In this paper, I suggest the general procedure of standardization for software manufacturing.

  • This paper traces the expanding role of simulation from its early beginning on mainframe computers to the $21^{st}$ Century's enterprise manufacturing environment of remote access and control. It includes an examination of the current and future role of integrated graphic animation as a primary medium of technical communications. The paper concludes with an example application of distance learning in the design, analysis, and operation of Programmable Logic Controllers on the Factory Floor of the future.

  • The objective of this paper is to provide an alternative framework for the integration of process planning and scheduling in cellular manufacturing. The concept of an integrated cellular manufacturing system is defined and the system architecture is presented. In an integrated cellular manufacturing system, there are three modules : the process planning module, the manufacturing-cell design module, and the cell-scheduling module. For each module, the tasks and their activities are explained.

  • There are few factors like a due date observance of the customer's order, reducing the manufacturing lead time, and minimizing the inventory investment to successfully run the manufacturing system. It is difficult for corporation and a person concerned to be offered indicators to achieve few factors mentioned above from complex manufacturing systems having much fluctuations. Simplified-DBR based on TOC(Theory of Constraints) is a management paradigm which can offer indicators to effectively face with fluctuating market's needs when market's demand is smaller than a capacity of manufacturing system. This paper is offering a core indicator and management model which is needed to successfully run the manufacturing system for corporation and a person concerned who have short experience and knowledge and newly construct Sinplified-DBR manufacturing system. Thus, this paper provides a systemic guidance in the offered model through the simulation.

  • We suggested the policy of labor management in pump manufacturing industry through survey in order to improve competitive ability. In pump manufacturing industry, since it is difficult to find sufficient worker having technical skill and knowledge concerning pump manufacturing technology, therefore the industry must cultivate the employee systematically. We reached the result, production engineer and R&D engineer play an important role to improve competitive ability in pump manufacturing industry. Though they need technical education, the effect of education was not satisfactory. To solve this problem, suitable technical education course must be devised. Marketing reinforcement is a important factor in pump manufacturing industry. To achieve marketing reinforcement, each company must develop their present technology further and raise marketing ability to expand internal and external business. It is also consulted to use IT technology.

  • This paper presents a systematic approach for design of timely and proper layouts of a manufacturing system facilitating reconfigurability, referred to as a reconfigurable manufacturing system. A proper methodology for design of a system layout is required for reconfiguration planning - adding or removing machines for supplying the exact capacity needed to fulfill market demands, as well as minimizing the cost of adding new machines. In this paper, theory of constraints is used to make reconfiguration manufacturing systems more cost-effective and efficiency. The proposed approach is validated by using a real industrial case. This paper suggests that the proposed study should be performed concurrently with the design of a new manufacturing system.
