It is critical to determine the appropriate actions for safe landing of an aircraft in an emergency situation. An expert system can be very useful for this purpose. An expert system specifically for jet fighter $F-\bigcirc\bigcirc$ has been developed. Its knowledge base contains the standard procedures provided by various flight manuals and the expertise of human specialists such as pilots and emergency management personnels. Advising procedures are represented by an IF-THEN format in the developed rule-based expert system. Advises are provided in real time during the entire flight processes of ground, takeoff, inflight, and landing. The developed system would significantly increase the survivability of pilots and aircraft, while decreasing operational costs of emergency management personnels. By modifying the knowledge base, the developed system can also be applied to other types of aircrafts including civilian airlines.

IEC 60300 series, the international standards on dependability management system are newly developed and introduced rapidly worldwide. In order to meet this situation, it is necessary to apply them to the Korean industries effectively. This requires for us to prepare in advance for the introduction of the certification system of IEC 60300. It includes the establishment of the infrastructure such as documentation of Korean Standards, introduction of test equipments and test manuals, recognition of the certification body and training of specialists etc. This paper addresses the first step for the Introduction of IEC 60300. It includes the necessity of introduction of the system, general requirements and procedures for the certification of the industries, sampling methods design and establishment of the dependability assurance system of the materials.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the foodservice management practices in day care centers in order to provide basic information and guideline for development of foodservice facilities standard model and sanitation manuals. Basic survey and evaluation were done for 24 day-care centers categorized in four groups. General foodservice management practies, status of equipment, and hygienic conditions were evaluated. The results of the survey showed the followings: the cost of lunch and the cost of interim snack varied very much among each group; development of standard recipe as well as purchase of foods were not done by an expert; the hygienic condition of kitchens and dining-room needed more attention for improvement; the sanitary practies of employees showed potential problems; kitchen facilites were not standardized, especially only 20.8% of the facilities were equipped with the three-compartment sink, which was regarded as essential.

Prototyping for field inspection safety assessment expert system of bridge structures is presented in this paper. Knowledgebase with production rules is constructed using the semiautomatic method on the basis of bridge inspection manuals and working reports of the related agency. Backward inference method is taken with the aids of external shells as a inference engine of knowledge-based systems. Implementation of the developed prototype system on MS Windows98 will shows inspiring aspects useful to guide and standardize the field works. In the case to be reinforced with abundant knowledge bases, this will be expected to be educate the practicing engineers.

'Navigable airspace' means an airspace at and above the minimum safe flight level, including airspace or flight procedures needed for safe takeoff and landing. Airspace may be established as needed and may be abolished, and in some cases may be limited to airspace management. These are absolutely based on risk assessment. Safety is the state in which the risk of harm to persons or of property damage is reduced to, and maintained at or below, an acceptable level through a continuing process of hazard identification and risk management. 'Risk' is the assessed potential for adverse consequences resulting from a hazard and 'Risk assessment' involves consideration of both the frequency and the severity of any adverse consequence. This paper proposed 'risk assessment procedure' for the structural changes of Navigable Airspaces through literature reviews relevant to manuals on airspace management and risk management.

아카이브는 노동기록의 부재에 대해 침묵하는 것이 아니라, 노동자 삶의 흔적을 기록화해야 한다. 곧 비정규 노동자의 행위와 고통을 기록으로 재현하는 일, 이를 바탕으로 자본주의의 억압적 구조를 밝히는 작업은 당대 아카이브의 책무이다. 노동수기 등 비정규 노동자의 삶을 표상하는 기록이 현재사를 상징하는 기록의 핵심이 되어야 하며, 아카이브는 이를 기록화해야 한다. 아카이브는 중립성의 환상을 폐기해야 한다.

This research examined the similarities and differences between Korean and Japanese accounting management in condominiums, the basic principles of managing them and to deepen the discussion on subjects worth further consideration. This research was done by going through documents from August 2006 to October 2007 in both Korea and Japan. The research indicates many problems in accounting management. Management companies, both in Korea and Japan, used their own individual formats for managing and accounting documents. Furthermore, the problems discovered included the lack of sufficient paperwork accounting done without dividing short- and long-term expenses the preference for cash expenses that weren't approved by the Association of Apartment Owners and inefficient financial auditing. The basic principle of accounting management is to follow a budget, put down rules clearly and to conduct factual, understandable and continued accounting. Therefore, a standard for accounting management must be implemented and basic manuals for auditing and accounting must be provided along with easy-to-understand information.

As far as the recent ELT research concerned, it seems to have been no hot ‘theoretical’ issues, but ‘practical’ ones in general: e.g., learners and learning, components of proficiency, correlates of L2 learning, etc. This paper focuses on the theme given above, with a special reference to the sub-title: specifically, 1) World English, world Englishes and world's lingua franca; 2) ENL, ESL and EFL; 3) Grammars, style manuals, dictionaries and media; 4) Pronunciation models: RP, BBC model and General American, Network Standard; 5) Lexical, grammatical variations and discourse grammars; 6) Beliefs and subjective theories in foreign language research; 7) Dilemma among radical, canonical and eclectic views. In conclusion, the author offers a modest proposal: we need to appeal to our own experience, intention, feeling and purpose, that is, our identity to express “our own selves” in our contexts toward the world anywhere, if not sounding authentic enough, but producing it plausibly well. It is time for us (with our ethno-cultural autonomy) to need to be complementary to and parallel with its native speakers' linguistic-cultural authenticity in terms of the broadest mutual understanding.

The live-line works are very dangerous works on direct contacts or neighboring contacts with the distribution line. But most of domestic electrical construction companies that have performed live-line works are small-scale companies. Accordingly, safety management system and manuals to insure worker's safety haven't sufficiently had. In this paper, risk and status of accidents for the live-line works were analyzed and the necessity of introducting risk assessment for live-line works was identified by a questionnaire survey of electrical construction companies and education institutions.

There are numerous factors in designing the civil-structure even for simple ones. So the designer has to be decide for such conditions and this makes him difficult. Recently, some design programs are used for the design of civil-structure. But even for using the existing design programs, another program is necessary, such as a finite element analysis program. Moreover a few errors may be made in the drafts which must be coincided with the structural calculations. In this study, the design programs for rahmen bridge with single span and box culvert were developed to reduce the design efforts and the manmade errors. These two design programs perform structural analysis, calculations, and making report and draft at a time. In addition, These programs suggest manuals according to standard specifications and references for design. When these programs are used for design, it will be able to reduce the efforts and time of civil engineers.
