  • The development of artificial intelligence in the field of construction and construction is revitalizing. The performance and development techniques of artificial intelligence are changing rapidly, but if you look at the cases of domestic construction sites, they are using technologies from 5 to 7 years ago. It is right to follow a stable method in consideration of commercialization, but the previous AI development method requires more manpower and time to develop than the current technology. In addition, in order to actively utilize artificial intelligence technology, customized artificial intelligence is required to be applied to ever-changing changes in construction sites. it is the reality As a result, even if good AI technology is secured at the construction site, it is reluctant to introduce it because there is no advantage in terms of time and cost compared to the existing method to apply it only to some processes. Currently, an AI technique with a faster development process and accurate recognition has been developed to cope with a fluid situation, so it will be important to understand and introduce the rapidly changing AI development method.

  • Agricultural extension services in Korea need to build new extension system to cope with the digital age and especially with shortage of extension educators which has been originated from the changing status from central to local government. The new trends including development of multi-media, wide-spreading of internet, and advent of internet broadcasting are offering the opportunities for new agricultural extension service. Utilization of agricultural internet broadcasting could be a new alternative for enhancing the efficiency of agricultural extension services. Agricultural internet broadcasting could support decision making of farmers by forwarding unique agricultural data which have been collected, compiled and processed by the Rural Development Administration. Farmers will be able to search useful agricultural data through agricultural internet broadcasting for more efficient farm management and marketing farm products. Agricultural internet broadcasting could utilize more prompt and abundant agricultural technology and management data compiled by the Rural Development Administration, and through this process, agricultural internet broadcasting could compensate the shortage of extension manpower. Through feedback process of agricultural internet broadcasting. farmers will be able to communicate more efficiently with extension educators to increase agricultural production and income. Agricultural Internet broadcasting could be an alternative to prevent farmers from being shunned in the information-based society.

An Exploratory Study on the Development of Hanbok Culture Industry (한복 문화 산업의 발전을 위한 탐색적 연구)

  • In this study, in-depth interviews with Hanbok experts on the development direction of the Hanbok culture industry were performed to listen to professional and future-oriented opinions for the development of Hanbok culture and the Hanbok industry. Interviews were conducted with 12 experts to identify the perception of the Hanbok culture industry and to confirm the possibility of sustainable development of Hanbok as a global culture. First, the results of this study should be preceded by the establishment of concepts such as traditional Hanbok, daily Hanbok, fusion Hanbok, and new Hanbok, and design, education, and government support suitable for each field are required. Second, the responsible craftsmanship of the Hanbok industry, the development of Hanbok design with the aesthetics and convenience of Hanbok designers, multi-dimensional research with high academic use, and systematic support for various Hanbok-related programs and events by the government are needed. Third, the government should promote and actively wear Hanbok through various media to revitalize the Hanbok culture, such as establishing a Hanbok wearing day, reviving etiquette education in school, and providing local-based Hanbok wearing experience education. Fourth, in order to cultivate professional manpower, detailed Hanbok education by field is necessary, and specialized education tools, such as distribution, VMD, and stylist are proposed.

  • Localization trends in Korea and trade liberalization in the world are the important challenges to agricultural extension services in Korea, and strategic directions in terms of system, organization, programs and conciousness would be necessary for adapting to the new circunstances. Some of the measures to improve and activate agricultural extension services in Korea should include the following: 1) Modification of extension personnel appointment regulations to secure specialized extension agents by the provincial administrators and county directors at the provincial and county level rural extension services. 2) Flexible organization and operation of county level rural guidance offices to meet the specific needs of local areas. 3) Strenghening the central government's financial support for effective local extension services in terms of facility and manpower. 4) Expansion of agricultural extension programs for women and urban people and quality inservice training for extension personnel.

  • The East Asian Observatory (EAO) was established in 2014 by the East Asian Core Observatories Association (EACOA). The goal of the EAO is to build and operate world-class facilities on behalf of the East Asian regions, as a counterpart to the European Southern Observatory (ESO). Leading astronomical facilities such as ALMA, TMT, GMT, and SKA are mega projects which require enormous economic resources. It is difficult for any observatory or any country to fund such facilities on its own. EAO intends to combine the resources and manpower in our East Asian regions, in order to play a leading role in the next generation frontier instruments. The EACOA institutes: NAOC, NAOJ, KASI, and ASIAA, have authorized the EAO to take on the operations of the James Clerk Maxwell Telescope (JCMT) on Mauna Kea as their first joint venture. In this talk, we will report on the development of EAO, our current operations of JCMT, and our future aspirations.

  • In order to overcome the limitations of the mobile speed system for 1 lane, this study is used a multi-laser beam to develop a mobile speed measuring system, using a multi-phase beam. By using multi-laser beam, least squares algorithms and speed error processing algorithms were developed to improve speed accordancy and speed error rates compared to conventional mobile speed meters using a single laser beam. A field test showed that 80.0 percent of 3 lane and 87.0 percent of 4 lane were appropriate for the mobile speed system. With the development of the mobile speed measuring system, it is expected to dramatically reduce the accidents caused by the speed of traffic. It is also expected to effectively operate equipment and manage the cost by improving manpower and providing improved enforcement accuracy, by contributing positively to public institution and public affairs.

  • The automation system oriented as one of the second year automation projects for the small and medium sized enterprises(SME) was developed for the improvement of the production rate and cut the required manpower in the field of the relay which is one of the small electric components used in various industrial fields. The objectives of this study are not only improving the international competition of the relay itself but also partially solving the technical and financial problems featured by common bottlenecks of the SME for efficient assembly automation. For the purpose of these objectives, several topics are studied as followings. - Analyzing the adjustment process and determining the specification of the automation system. - Determining the layout for the automation system to meet the determined specification. - Detail design of the automation system for relay adjustment and inspection. - Control system design - Automation system development and performance test.

  • Investments in factory automation do not guarantee productivity enhancement. Much unknown losses may exist in all aspects of production resources such as in material, manpower, machine, etc. Total productivity in korean firms has decreased in recent years. Labor and capital productivity index fall to 0.82 point and 0.73 point, respectively. Investment in FA has Increased rapidly. Tangible fixed assets per capita increased 64% during the past Three years. But, this high-technology oriented systems such as NC, robotics, CAD/CAM, FMS, etc. are often out of keeping with the old production process control, and thus do not result in satisfactory performance. This review paper concerned with these problems and suggests some future directions for production control and development strategy of korean firm's.

  • Opening 21th Century, all the Countries of the world has been focusing on build up the foundation of cultural infrastructure in a various way, since the awareness of importance for cultural design products has been turnover. On the other hand, our cultural crafts' industry has not escaped from poor working environment and lagging behind conventional product system, and yet there is no complete system for mass production. The study is collaboration with Tourism Industry Innovation Center in Kwangju University for development of cultural products of wooden crafts by using cultural resources in Kwangju area and CNC M/C which is up-to-date digital technology. It aims to make possibility of mass production and discrimination on design for wooden crafts which is based on highly skilled technical manpower and creativities, and expects to develop and merchandise global wooden cultural products.
