Total image consists of body analysis, fashion coordination, and manners. This stydt will be utilized to develop a clinic program using the concept of total image, with a focus on manners, which is important in the modem age. The manners was examined m the following categories; the importance of manners, level of manners, he order of manners sents felt important, and contents of manners the subjects deemed necessary. The research was conducted using 400 male and female college students living In the Daejeon area. The data were processed statistically using the SPSS package, and administered the frequency and percentages, andthe $x^2-test$. Results are as follows. Both male and female students acknowledged manners as a significant factor in forming the total image, and they possessed a medium level of manners. College students felt the importance of manners in the following order: everyday life manners, facing manners, telephone manners, and fashion coordination manners. There was a difference between male and female students in the contents of manners. Whereas manners the subjects deemed necessary for male students were facing manners(name use, introduction, handshaking, card exchange), everyday life manners(drinking, moking), those for female students were telephone manners, facing manners(greeting, expression), everyday life manners(individual life, eating, visiting), fashion coordination manners(special occasions, interviews. invitations, MT).
The purpose of this study was to investigated on the degree of interest of manners education before and attitude and behavior change satisfaction of post-manners education for Women's University Students. The data for this study were collected from 518 subjects, who were Sookmyng Women's University Students in November, 1996. The subjects were analyzed by Cronbach's α, Frequency, Percentage, Mean, Anova, Factor analysis, Multiple Regression, and Path Analysis. The results were as follows; 1) The general tendency of students' degree of interest of manners education before for Women's University Students was high. 2) Attitude and behavioral change satisfaction of post-manners education was some high. Among the variables, individual life manners, family relations manners, job manner, and wedding ceremony were some high then the other manners areas. 3) The variables of the positive influences for students attitude and behavioral change satisfaction of post-manners education were degree of interest of manners education before, mother's age, grade, major, university life-satisfaction, and mother's job, negative influence variables was family life-satisfaction. 4) The intermediated variable of attitude and behavioral change satisfaction of post-manners education was degree of interest of manners education before and university life-satisfaction. We hope this study to be used as basic data for developing manners education model in university. We also expect further studies on university manners education with precise scale and sampling.
This research aims to verify the generation transfer of proper manners from mothers to adolescent children and the relationship between adolescents' proper manners and strengths of family life. The data from 826 questionnaires (413 pairs of adolescents and mothers) were used for the final analysis. The findings of the study are summarized as follows: First, as for the extent of the implementation of manners of mothers and adolescent children both parties generally abided by good manners, but a significant difference emerged in the patterns. Second, both mothers and adolescent children were influenced by psychological determinants of self-esteem, values of humanism, emotional intimacy between mother and child, and social support for the implementation of good manners. On the other hand, adolescent children were affected the most by the emotional intimacy with mothers. Third, children generally showed significant differences in their implementation of manners according to the manners their mothers. Fourth, there were significant differences in the strengths of family life for adolescent children depending on their implementation of manners. Fifth, when comparing the relative contribution of the mothers' psychological determinants on strengths of family life and adolescent children's psychological determinants on the implementation of manners, strengths of family life gained more credibility as more variables were added.

This study examined university students' view on the importance of attending rituals of congratulation or condolence in social life, and the extent to which they recognized the manners of offering congratulation or condolence. It also looked into the plans and content of education on such manners required by the students. The study aimed at seeking a direction for education on the manners of offering congratulation or condolence in order to help the students acquire an appropriate conception of offering congratulation or condolence and contribute to firmly establishing a sound culture of conveying congratulation or condolence. The following results were obtained in the study. 1. One a five-point scale, university students' recognitions of the importance of attending rituals of congratulation or condolence were revealed as follows: attending condolence rituals(4.55) > attending wedding ceremonies(4.30) > visiting sick acquaintances(4.03) > attending birthday parties (3.50) > attending openings(3.47) > attending promotion or retirement parties(3.42). 2. One a five-point scale, university students' recognitions of the manners of offering congratulation or condolence in social life were as follows: the manners of attending condolence rituals(4.20) > the manners of attending wedding ceremonies(4.06) > the manners of attending promotion or retirement parties(3.9) > the manners of attending openings(3.80) > the manners of attending birthday parties(3.69) > the manners of visiting sick acquaintances(3.44). 3. One a five-point scale, university students' requirements for the content of education on the manners of conveying congratulation and condolence were as follows: education on the manners of attending condolence rituals(4.08) > education on the manners of visiting sick acquaintances(3.35) > education on the manners of attending wedding ceremonies(3.27) > education on the manners of attending promotion and retirement parties(2.96) > education on the manners of attending birthday parties(2.91) > education on the manners of attending openings(2.91). 4. One a five-point scale, university students' requirements for the plan for education on the manners of conveying congratulation and condolence were as follows: 'The education content should be applicable in real life'(4.42) > 'The education content should be easily understandable' (4.23) > 'Information or materials related to the education content should be easily accessible'(4.01) > 'The theory and actual practice of education should be taught in parallel' (3.96) > 'Education related materials should be utilized'(3.92) > 'Students' demands should be reflected when structuring the content of education'(3.91). 5. The study examined the relationship among university students' recognitions of the importance of attending rituals of congratulation or condolence, their recognitions of the manners of offering congratulation or condolence, and their demands regarding such manners. According to the results, a static relationship was found in all sub-areas, indicating students show higher recognition of practicing manners of conveying congratulation or condolence as they have higher recognition of attending rituals of congratulation or condolence in social life. In addition, higher recognition of practicing manners of conveying congratulation or condolence made them demand more for the necessity of plan and content of education on the manners of offering congratulation or condolence in university.
This study analyzes the tendency for studies of children's manners in Korea. This research provides basic information for future research on the study of children's manners. I reviewed previous research during Mar.10~Apr. 30., 2009, and published articles that used terms such as 'ye-jul', 'yua ye-jul', 'jun-tong ye-jul', and 'yua-dare kyo yuk' as key-words provided by the National Assembly Library and Academic Information Center, and the terms were used for contents analysis. In the past, parents usually taught manners to their children at home, but now, most children learn etiquette at kindergarten and day care centers. A greater portion of the studies dealing with children's manners has been published since 2001. The experimental method was used for most of this research. Based on the results, I have made suggestion regarding the direction of future studies of children's manners. Research should investigate the value of children's manners and philosophy in future research. Based on the personal characteristics of each child and their understanding of the ecological environment, studies of children's manners require an interdisciplinary research approach or ecological research approach. These studies should continue to research in cooperation with kindergartens and day care centers. In addition, further research should focus on an effective teaching method or instructional media research of children's manners.
The main objective of this study is to provide baseline data and materials to be used for developing an manners education program. Such an educational program will help enhance the manners of university students. A stratified random sampling method was applied to collect data. Originally, 800 questionnaires were distributed to university students during the period between May 10 and May 31, 2m, and of the completed questionnaires, 7n3 were used for data analysis. 'The following findings were obtained:1. University students 'level of everyday manners was shown to be moderate, and the mean score was 6.76 (67.61/100 Points). 2. The level of demands for everyday manners education was shown to be high and the mean score was 8.05 (67.61/100 Points). 3. The variable that had the greatest impact on the level of everyday manners was the subjective knowledge about everyday manners, whereas gender affected the demand for education the most strongly.

The objective of this study is to induce the importance of manners through the relation between the implementation of manners and strengths of family life in adolescents and to examine positive variants that can enhance healthy family life. A total of 312 questionnaires were used as the final data for this study. The results of the study are as follows. 1. The implementation of manners in adolescents was just above the median. In particular, the lowest sector was in public manners requiring intensive activation measures. The variables influencing the results were sex, self-esteem, level of intimacy with mothers, and relative comparisons. Especially, the level of intimacy with mothers was the most influential indicating the importance of the roles of mothers in manners education. 2. Adolescents seem to be leading a comparatively healthy family life. In the subcategories, bonding among family members appeared to be the most prominent. Nonetheless, little time is spent together among family members. Moreover, psychological variants were very influential in the strengths of family life in adolescents. Considering that implementation of manners contributed to enhancing the strengths of family life, the establishment of a healthy manners culture of adolescents in required.

Manners is important factor of healthy family life and helps to form diverse human relationship properly at university and society. The main purpose of this research was to emphasize the importance of manners by examining university student's conduct of manners which is basically demanded for harmonious social life and progressive human relationship. First, the health level of the conduct of the subject students appeared to exceed the average. Second, as a result of examining conduct of manners and strengths of healthy family life, it has been analyzed that humanitarian value, number of siblings and realization of the significance of the healthy family life are serious variables. Third, it has been analyzed that the higher the level of university student's conduct of the manner of family life, the higher the level of strengths of healthy family life.
The purpose of this study is to examine by how much variables influence the implementation of manners. In addition, subjective and objective variables and the relationship between the implementation of manners and the satisfaction felt in family life as a general has been examined. In total, 338 middle-aged married women were studied to serve as a data sources. The major findings of this study are indicated as follows: 1. It was discovered that there was a high level of manner implementation among the middle-aged married women studied. The variables that affected this level were as follows: educational experience in manner-uplifting courses, self-esteem, and humanism preference orientation. 2. On the level of satisfaction with family life as a general, the study showed reasonable standards. The following variables affected this level: the average monthly income of family, whether or not the women are employed, religious obligations, self-esteem, humanism preference orientation, manners within the family life itself, manners in ancestral services, and manners in communications. It was clear however that the implementation of manners in general played an important role in the amelioration of the level of satisfaction felt with family life.
