  • The present study applies the TAM (Technology Acceptance Model) to investigate the factors that affect the intention to use the mobile payment services. For this purpose five potential variables (perceived usefulness, perceived convenience, ubiquity, innovativeness, and safety risk) that are expected to affect the intention to use the mobile payment services were selected. An online survey was administered, and 339 questionnaires were analyzed. Structure Equation Model (SEM) Analysis revealed that TAM variables (perceived usefulness and perceived convenience) partially influenced the attitude. The perceived usefulness predicted the attitude while perceived convenience did not predict the attitude toward the mobile payment service. Personal characteristics variable (innovativeness) and mobile nature variables (ubiquity, and security risk) were identified as the predictors of the attitude toward the mobile payment service. While innovativeness and ubiquity affected the attitude positively, security risk affected the attitude negatively. Finally, the analysis substantiated the influence of attitude toward the mobile payment services on the intention to use the services. On the basis of findings, managerial implications and suggestions for further studies were discussed.

HTS (Home Trading System) is a electronic commerce system of securities companies that is a most progressive tool of it. Almost securities companies are offering these typical trading system, because it is a required factor for a competitive position in their compound market. This paper made hypotheses of five cases, and collected some data through survey questionnaire for an analysis of actual proof. For attaining the object of this research, used a structure equation modeling, and found that almost paths of the research model are supported among the service quality, using experience, involvement and royalty. This study could provide academic and managerial implications in a electronic commerce business.

  • This paper presents how Korea succeeded in developing an indigenous nuclear power plant model over fifty years. Long-lasting national R&D for technical progress and the Korean government for managerial process were the two pillars in the build-up of indigenous Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) technological capabilities. The concept of technological capabilities is used to examine its evolutionary process with a qualitative and longitudinal approach. The government had a developing country ambition to formulate a strategic plan for technical self-reliance on nuclear power plant while establishing the country’s institutions and organization structure for the plan. Under the government leadership, it was national R&D that led to the resolution of a good number of technological problems, efficiently, by absorbing imported technologies and effectively adapting them to local circumstances.

  • The existing research on sustainability in the apparel industry provides no clear consensus on the definition of sustainability for the apparel brands and how sustainability of apparel brands as it is perceived by consumers can be measured. To fill this gap in research, the present study proposes and tests a confirmatory model of sustainability for apparel brands based on the three pillars of sustainability (i.e., economic, environmental, social sustainability) theorized in the Triple Bottom Line model. A survey of 754 U.S. consumers provided data for empirical testing. The results support the three-dimensional factor structure of sustainability for apparel brands and reveal that a second-order sustainability exerts a significant impact on both brand image and brand trust. The findings provide theoretical implications for researchers and practical managerial suggestions for marketers.

  • Sanitary management practices from 8 packaged meals (Dosirak) manufacturing establishments were surveyd during production and distribution and their microbiological quality of dosirak items marketed in CVS were analyzed. Correlation coefficients were calculated to deternine significant relationships between sanitary management practices and microbiological quality of packaged meals. The results of self evaluation on sanitary management practices indicated 'doing practice well' in personnel and equipment sanitation management but time-temperature control management were practiced satisfactorily only about 55% as compared with the managerial standard guidelines. Significant relationships between the status of actual sanitary management practices and microbiological quality of Dosirak items were not found, but general status of microbiological quality of Dosirak items revealed positive relationship with the size of operational structure and the status of time-temperature control management practices.

  • Recently, Decision Support Systems (DSS) research has seen a more to combine Artificial Intelligence (AI) including neural network techniques with traditional DSS concepts and technologies to build an intelligent DSS or a knowledge-based DSS. This article proposes a Management Evaluation and its Support System (MESS) as a knowledge-based DSS. The management evaluation of a firm means the performance of all managerial operations is appraised by considering the situations of the firm. A neural network is used to represent the management evaluation structure as a suitable means of management knowledge representation. Finally a case study in a telecommunication corporation is presented.

  • The 21st century is called “an era of creation” or “an era of speed.” These are flat expressions requiring a fierce competition between individuals, corporations and nations. In a reality in which we should make new things continuously within a short period of time, the world best benchmarking can become a good alternative. The world best practice can be called “a mode of operation” that has created the world's best performance in a particular field of managerial activities. It is very meaningful for the nations' corporations, which have a lower competitiveness than world-class ones and weak points in the area of human resources development, in particular, to benchmark the world-class corporations' best practices of HRD. Therefore, this study is conducted in conformity with a model of the Instructional Systems Designs for the Total Quality Education that brings the structure of the world-class corporations' best practices of HRD into line with that of the Total Quality Management. That is, analysis, design, development, implementation and assessment are included in this study.

  • The managerial environment of automobile industry has been rapidly changing, mainly with the tighter standard of legal and environmental regulations, the pressure of cost reduction from the end-user, the various functional improvements of vehicles, and the globalization management. In order to survive in this complicate circumstances, the automakers have strongly pursued the mutual collaboration with the suppliers, especially tier-1, for the optimal selection of parts/materials and the assembly manufacturing processes of the new model development. They prepare the early involvement program for the suppliers during the conceptual design stage, and implement the win-win strategy of technology development activity, in order to improve the value creation. This study considers the strategic technology management of automotive steel sheets makers on the aspects of strategy, processes, human & physical resources, and organization structure. It also suggests the corporate strategies of steel mills, in order to obtain the technology competence.

  • Recently the international transfer pricing became the most popular topic in accounting of the research as well as of the practice. Modern corporations have been experiencing a lot of changes in managerial control technique as their scale and scope of activities grows and the environment in which they operate changes rapidly. If there are internal transactions in a decentralized firm, the necessity of coordination among the divisions is inevitable. Transfer pricing in a decentalized company provides an excellent example of the coordinating role of information. One of the most important reason for a form to have a decentalized structure is the improved decision making at the lower level due to better access to information. International transfer pricing is not merely a problem of pricing but coordination of transfers and other collective or individual actions to derive rents from intergration. Such coordination can be achived through the performance evaluation scheme which is partly based upon transfer price.

  • The information revolution is sweeping through the global economy. The strategic significance of the information and information technology have been some what underestimated. Now they are transforming the structure of competition. Information technology must be applied to improve and sustain an organization's competitive advantage. The successful implementation of information technology is dependent on the effectiveness of information systems planning. However, the selection of the right methodology still remains a open question. This paper describes the existing methodologies for information system planning. A complementary approach to strategic information systems planning, which was developed for a steel company, is suggested. The approach attempts to combine Business Systems Planning of IBM and Critical Success Factors Analysis for effective information systems planning. Although this approach is in the experimental stage it looks to be of benefit to large organizations which require information planning for managerial level.
