  • In response to insurmountable pressure for a broad distribution of political power between the central government and local governments, the Korean Government pushes for the establishment of the local port authority as the optimum choice to achieve its goal. Starting with the Pusan and Incheon ports, the local port authority system is expected to setout the dramatic change in port management system throughout the Korean ports. However, this paper points out that the port reform choice should take into account the specific features of the society and country and some basic questions should be clearly answered beforehand. The fundamental questions are: whether institutional reform will markedly improve the ports managerial and operational efficiencies? and what will be the benefits and costs, compared to those of not changing? Without rigorous and comprehensive analysis on these issues in the institution transition, haphazard port reform will have the possibility to increase port users costs and disrupt the efficient port services. Experiences around the world clearly show that the indiscriminate copy of port reform found in other countries may be neither feasible nor practical presently in Korea. They also indicate that the port reform should be made on a gradual basis with full control of the pace.

This study has analyzed consumer behavior differences between online and off-line channel formats in one framework and identified differences in consumer behaviors between the two channel formats. Managerial implications of this paper include measuring the effects of the integration of online and off-line channel and developing multichannel strategy. This paper suggests marketers to develop channel strategies based on customer segmentation criteria reflecting different consumer shopping value between online and off-line channel formats rather than developing strategies based only on the conventional marketing mix.

  • This never-ending changes and everlasting challenges under the industrial circumstances induce us to compete against survival or selection. We accordingly need to take steps in order to survive excessive competitions by the various differentiated strategies in Beauty and Cosmetology markets. The purpose of this study aims for making the best use of this actual proof which enables the effective customer management and managerial things of beauty shop through theoretical contemplation in all aspects of managerial beauty shop and the reason why the customers give the second visit(revisit) or choosing the shop again(coming again) by demographic characteristics. The method of this study was surveying 200 re-visited customers at the same beauty shop in GwangJu Metropolitan city for a whole year by questionnaire regarding the correlation between revisiting of the same beauty shop and demographic characteristics. After surveying, we coded these questionnaires finding out its distribution(range) by SPSS statistical package with Frequency Analysis in response to demographic characteristics and also performed ANOVA and Regression. In brief, there is big difference between men and women which explains the second visiting(revisit) originates in technical fact; hair protection. Most women have paid great attention to their hair protection while men mostly have ignored. However, men attached themselves to the hairdressers' appearances and the distance from their house to the beauty shop which did not mean a lot to women. Beside s, there were many differentiation in accordance with marital status, age, education and their business. With this study, we easily generalize the fact that customers revisit a beauty shop not because of beauty shop facilities but because of human interests.?Beautician's service has certain specialties which show the interaction between customer and beautician in the field. Now we can come to this conclusion that we need to endeavor to develop the service spirit and employees' welfare. • The implementation of a short renewal cycle has become one of the competitive alternatives for apparel retailers to respond quickly to fast-changing consumer tastes. This strategic orientation affects consumer decision-making by inducing perishability of the store offerings. The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of perceived seller-induced perishability (as a result of a short renewal cycle) on perceived desirability of products urge to buy and purchase acceleration. The proposed model was tested in a field setting with female shoppers from two leading fast fashion retailers in the United States. This study found that perceived seller-induced perishability significantly enhances the perceived desirability of products and intensify the urge to buy while shopping which in turn accelerates purchases. In addition to perceived seller-induced perishability perceived desirability of products also contributed to intensifying the urge to buy. A number of theoretical and managerial implications were discussed and major areas of future research were suggested.

  • With science and technology getting more and more advanced, the scope of digital product is expanding and the new products continuously are introduced on the market. On the basis of consumers' attachment to products, we investigated the consumers' behaviors towards the product when a digital product is extended. As a result of an empirical analysis, it turned out that a consumer tended to have higher trust and a positive emotion about relevant goods if he or she had a strong attachment to digital products. However, even though one had a strong attachment to digital products, the emotion about the corresponding brands did not necessarily appeared to be positive. In the event that a brand of digital products was extended to other new products, only the trust in the brand exerted significant influence on the consumers' behaviors towards the extended products. Finally, this study suggests some theoretical and managerial implications for effective strategies in response to customers' attachment to digital product.

  • Recent market environment shows a new relationship between customer and company. You can easily observe customers take initiatives to get involved in the marketing activities such as product development, pricing and distribution etc. Despite the fact there are a lot of marketing activities initiated by customers in the online travel market, customer participation has been given little attention in the academic literature. Our research is grounded in the well-known commitment-trust theory of relationship marketing, originally proposed by Morgan and Hunt(1994). According to the theory, trust is central to successful relationship marketing. This study explores the effect of trust on customer participation in the online travel market. Consequently, this study suggests some managerial implications for marketing strategies in response to customer initiative in the marketing activities on the online travel market.

  • Through quantitative analysis of two math classroom videos, combined with the relationship between types of teachers' questioning and students' answering, it is concluded the following problems are in the mathematics classroom teaching: (1) The time of teachers' questioning is longer, the number is too much, with managerial questions and prompting questions is given priority to; (2) Teachers' questioning time is longer than students' answering time, comprehensive answer is more, creative answer is little; (3) In the classroom questioning, students' participation is low; and (4) There is a significant correlation between types of teachers' questioning and length of waiting time after questions. In response to these phenomena, we propose strategies as follows: pursuit of timeliness of classroom questioning, reducing inefficient questions, to increase efficient questions, adopting different waiting strategies for different questioning types, to mobilize students' thinking activities, and improving students' participation etc.
