This study investigated the awareness and consumption behavior of 118 vegetarians and omnivores toward plant-based dairy alternatives. The preference and choice attribute questionnaires were compared. Significant differences were obtained between the two groups when considering the purchase experience, preference, and selection attributes of plant-based dairy alternatives. Vegetarians had more experience purchasing plant-based dairy alternative products. In both groups, environmental and animal protection were the major factors that influenced the highest response rate for purchasing plant-based dairy alternatives. The preference score of vegetarians for plant-based dairy alternative products was high, indicating that vegetarianism had a significant effect on their preference for plant-based dairy alternative products. Analysis of selection attributes revealed that price, product weight, appearance, and manufacturer were considered important by vegetarians, whereas nutritional components and labeling, manufacturing environment, composition of ingredients, and taste and texture were considered more important by the omnivores. Results of this study can be used as basic data for the future development of the fast-growing industry producing plant-based dairy alternative products.

The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), a decision making model, which is more applicable than other methods to R&D project selection, particularly when it is applied to intangibles. The objective of this paper is to develop an extended model of the AHP which Is linked to Cross Impact Analysis to assist in the ranking of a large number of technological alternatives. The paper deals with interactive multiple criteria decision making procedure when decision maker (DM) specifies her or his preference in incomplete ways. Usually DM is willing or able to provide only incomplete information, because of time pressure and lack of knowledge or data. Under incomplete information on utility and attribute weight, the pairwise dominance checks result in strict or weak dominance values. Considering only strict dominance values sometimes fails to Prioritize alternatives because of fuzziness of preference information. Further there exists some information loss useful if used, otherwise. In this paper, we consider the outranking concept which implies the willingness of DM's taking some risk under the least favorable situation because she has enough reasons to admit the results. By comparing the magnitude of net preference degree of alternatives which is defined by difference between outrankings and outranked degree of each alternative, we can prioritize alternatives.

This paper presents an interactive decision procedure to aggregate each group member's preferences when each group member articulates his or her preference information incompletely. An index, an indicative for the preference strength between alternatives, is derived to aid each decision maker to articulate preference information about alternatives. We develop a mathematical programming model that can establish dominance relations when the preference information about values of alternatives, attribute weights, and group member's importance weights are provided incompletely. Also, the preference relation between alternatives is to be considered in the model. Based on the preference strength measure and mathematical model, we develop an interactive group decision support procedure.

Recently, mobile telecommunication businesses contend with each other to expand their customer base by using aggressive marketing strategies. In order to determine if there strategies are effective, customer's switching behavior needs to be studied. This study identifies and analyzes direct, indirect factors that may customer switching behavior : attractiveness of alternatives, network externality, and switching cost. Results reveals that attractiveness of alternatives, network externalities have a direct impact on customer switching behavior. These two factors also have moderating effects on customer switching behavior but the switching cost does not In short, network externalities and alternatives strategically determine the success of 3.5G service. In this regard, mobile business should improve their own attractiveness of alternatives by developing specialized service in 3.5G service.

This paper has provided a systematic technique, the evaluation of the distribution with the NPV and the derivation of the IRR in the investment alternatives, for the cost estimating analysts, The proposals of investment alternatives are included the venture capital under risk and probabilities at each events, within the cash inflows are occuring at random timing. Therefore, we have considered the followings ; 1) the first cash outflow is deterministic, 2) the cash inflows are random variables with known distributions, 3) the lengths of the time intervals between the cash inflows are independently distributed and independent of the cash inflows. In this paper, the first two moments of the distribution, the Laplace Transforms and the convolutions are computed for both independent cash inflows and mutually exclusive alternatives as in the case of quite correlated cash inflows.

Efficient scheduling and resource management are the key factor to reduce construction project budget (e.g., labor cost, equipment cost, material cost, etc.). Resource-based line of balance (LOB) technique has been used to complement the limitations of existing time-driven scheduling techniques (e.g., critical-path method). Optimizing construction alternatives contributes to cost savings while honoring the project deadline. However, existing LOB scheduling is lack of identifying optimal resource combination. This study presents a method which identifies the optimal construction alternatives, hence achieving resource minimization in a repetitive construction by using genetic algorithm (GA). The method provides efficient planning tool that enhances the usability of the system.

An existing risk diagnosing methodology (RDM) diagnoses corporate risk for product-innovation projects. However, it cannot evaluate and compare the risk levels of multiple alternatives in the product development stage. This paper proposes a modified risk diagnosis method to fill the gap of risk evaluation in selections of innovative product alternatives and the application of the method will be also illustrated by a case problem on alternative selections in electrical dimmer designs. With RDM as the foundation, a modified RDM (MRDM) is proposed to deal with the problem of selecting innovative project alternatives during the early stages of product development. The Bayesian network; a probabilistic graphical model, is adopted to support the risk pre-assessment stage in the MRDM. The MRDM is proposed by incorporating the risk pre-assessment stage into the foundation. By evaluating the engineering design risks in two electrical dimmer switches, an application of the MRDM in product innovation development is successfully exemplified. This paper strengthens the existing methodology for RDM in innovative product development projects to accommodate innovative alternatives. It is advantageous for companies to identify and measure the risks associated in product development so as to plan for appropriate risk mitigation strategies.

In this paper, the current water management organization of the Korean government and those of foreign countries were analyzed to draw out a plan to build a more rational water management organization. And then, the two organization reform alternatives were discussed on which alternatives can effectively manage the water. Through the analysis, deployment of three divisions including the water policy, the wastewater policy and the division of water industries and business are the best alternative in terms of water equality, sustainability and efficiency, which are the three main goals of the new Water Management Act, Water Management Basic Act. With much efforts, the Korea has come to the era of One Water Management. The water management paradigm proposed in this opinion is expected to become a new engine of economical growth of the nation.

발주자, 건설사업관리자, 설계자, 시공자, VE 전문가 등 참여자 역량에 의해 성패가 좌우되는 VE 프로젝트에서는 체계적인 절차를 따르는 것이 중요하다. 하지만, 실제 VE 업무에서는 개략평가만을 실시하거나, 개략평가와 상세평가를 통합하여 수행하는 경우가 있다. 이러한 경우, 중요한 대안일지라도 리스크에 대하여 평가하는 것이 어렵다. 이에 따라, 선행단계에서 제안된 대안이 후행단계에서 다시 기존안으로 돌아가는 회귀제안(returning alternatives)이 발생하여, 해당 대안에 대한 반복작업으로 인해 VE 업무효율이 저하되는 경우가 종종 발생한다.이에 본 연구에서는 VE 대안을 구체적으로 분석하고 체계적으로 평가하여 회귀제안 발생을 최소화하기 위해, VE 대안의 리스크 평가절차(risk assessment process for VE alternatives)를 제안하였다. 이는 VE 대안을 구체적이고 체계적으로 평가하여 회귀제안을 최소화하기 위한 평가절차로서 의의가 있으며, 회귀제안에 대한 반복업무를 줄임으로써 VE 업무의 효율을 높일 수 있을 것으로 예상된다.
