CALS Implementation Policy for Information-based Management of Small and Medium Companies (중소기업의 정보화를 위한 CALS 도입 정책 방안)

  • This study aims to suggest CALS implementation strategies and policies for information-based management of small and medium companies in Korea. At the turning point from traditional document-based management to recent digital-based one, it is well known that implementation of CALS concept is crucial for advancing business management of small and medium enterprises In order to attack the aim, this paper critically analyzes the empirical difficulties and obstacles of the current information-based management of small and medium companies in Korea. On the basis of the above analysis, this paper suggests the strategic plans and policies of CALS implementation for small and medium enterprises in Korea as follows. First, government should provide the supporting policies and proper system so that the large enterprise can be linked with small and medium companies for sharing necessary information. Second, similar enterprises should be integrated on the basis of information and automation evaluation. Third, implementation strategies and plans should be advanced on the basis of the informationalized phases with respect to the technology level of small and medium enterprises. For more efficient CALS implementation, this paper also proposes the following subsidiary policies. First, it is substantially important to publicize the nation-wide spreading of CALS mind. Second, it is strongly recommended to educate and train CALS specialist on a consistant basis. Third, government should support the enterprises by providing sufficient fund for CALS implementation. Fourth, the ideal CALS implementation models for small and medium enterprises should be developed. Fifth, the consulting and training program for CALS implementation should be established through ECRC (Electronic Commerce Resource Center).   • Small and Medium Business Associate has supporting small and medium business and private business for establishment business and sales increasing with various policy since 2005. Arousing the interesting on customer relationship management, small and medium business and private business have recognized the necessity of the concept and introduction the CRM. This study suggested the effectiveness of the CRM throughout real cases of the CRM for small and medium business managers in order to rising sales in such an environment. The case of this study tried to figure it out to accomplish manager's ends of small and medium business to get successful business results based on innovative volition and mind trying to change. The owner who has experience 12 years in meat sales was analyzed the results of aptitude test that the business is highly appropriate to him in personality and aptitude. As also saw the strength and opportunity of SWOT analysis, he has an excellent talent for friendship, knowledge of searching Internet and organizing information, and learning ability. This study provided a marketing policy, ideas of customer services and system remodeling to improve relationship with customer, and a division diagnosis of business activities. The owner has an excellent friendship, so that this study suggest to remodel interior inside store clearly and sanitary displaying on products, to introduce aggressive and concentrated marketing strategies, and to recognize the important of public relation.

  • There are two types of organizational knowledge in terms of its creation process: experiential and analytical knowledge. The experiential knowledge is created by repetitive experiences of an individual or team through task execution, while the analytical knowledge is acquired by analyzing accumulated data or information in the organization. The experiential knowledge often remains tacit or implicit in the organization because it is primarily acquired at an individual or team level. Therefore, the issue on the experiential knowledge is to share it actively within the organization. On the other hand, the analytical knowledge is explicit in its nature since it is extracted from data or information. Thus, it is important to guide a systematic creation of the analytical knowledge rather than encourage to share it. The current trend of "knowledge management" mainly focuses on the experiential knowledge - know-how, idea, case, etc - and neglects another important knowledge in the organization. i. e., analytical knowledge. This paper tries to shed a new light on the "knowledge management" arena by introducing rather new perspective in the concept of knowledge. The purpose of this study is to identify the factors affecting the analytical knowledge creation in the organization. We conducted an exploratory case study of three companies with a previously defined research framework and found some critical factors for the analytical knowledge creation. They are "organizational resource", "effectiveness of feedback process", "data source management", and "experimental mind set". Finally, we proposed research model and propositions regarding the analytical knowledge creation in the organization.

Effects of Mentoring Function on Career Development and Organizational Effectiveness in Private Security Service Organization (경호경비조직의 멘토링기능이 경력개발 및 조직유효성에 미치는 영향)

  • The Purpose of this study was to examine effects of mentoring function on career development and organizational effectiveness in private security service organization. Example number used on interpretation finally using purposive sampling method after this study establishes 5 places private security service company's security guard by population in Seoul on March, 2010 is total 227 people. Reliability of questionnaire appeared Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ value more than .667. Conclusions that appears in this study is as following. First, private security service organization's Mentoring function affects in career development. That is, if friendship, patronage, career management, society mind, and role model are mobilized, innovative own development, special capacity development, and information competitive power development are helped. Second, private security service organization's Mentoring function affects in organization effectiveness. If friendship, patronage, career management, society mind, and role model are mobilized, career satisfaction, organization immersion, and job satisfaction increase. On the other hand, change of jobs intention decreases if function of society mind is mobilized. Third, private security service organization's career development affects in organization effectiveness. If reform and special capacity development are helped, career satisfaction, organization immersion, and job satisfaction increase. While change of jobs intention decreases as development of information competition is helped. Fourth, Mentoring function exerts influence of causality on career development and organization effectiveness. That is, Mentoring exerts direct influence on organization effectiveness, but it exerts indirect effect through career development.

  • VTS 관제사의 가장 기본적인 업무는 모니터링과 동시다발적으로 발생하는 사건을 처리하는 업무라고 할 수 있다. 이러한 모니터링 업무와 동시발생 업무의 관리의 소홀 또는 실패가 VTS 관련 사고로 이어지는 경우가 많다, 그러함에도 불구하고 지금까지는 이 분야에 대한 연구가 부족하였다. 본고에서는 VTS 모니터링 업무와 동시발생 업무 관리의 특성을 분석하고 특히 방해와 산만을 일으키는 요소들을 집중적으로 검토하고 이것이 관제사의 역량에 미치는 영향을 알아보았다. 또한 이러한 문제의 해결책으로 미래계획기억과 분산 기억 시스템 이론을 적용하여 실질적으로 관제사 업무에 도움을 줄 수 있는 방법을 모색하였다. 또한 e-Navigation 과 관련하여 VTS 장비에 장착하여 관제사의 모니터링 업무와 동시다발 발생 업무 관리를 도울 수 있는 도구 개발에 대한 아이디어를 제안하였다.

Effects of System Reliability Improvements on Future Risks

  • In order to build a model to predict accidents in a complicated man-machine sytem, human errors and mechanical reliability can be viewed as the most important factors. Such factors are explicitly included in a generic model. Another point to keep in mind is that the model should be constructed so that the data in a type of accident can be utilized to predict other types of accidents. Based on such a generic prediction model, we analyze the effects of system reliability. When we improve the system reliability, in other words, when there are changes in model parameters, the predicted time to next accidents should be modified influencing the effects of system reliability improvements. We apply Bayesian approach and finds the formula to explain how a change on the machine reliability or human error probability influences the time to next accident.

  • The ubiquitous technology, leading the stream of change in telecommunication market, makes VoIP a foundation technology to enter NGN era. With this trend in mind, VoIP providers try to satisfy customer needs and invest on R&D in order to survive in this emerging market. The critical issues to VoIP providers are two fold the first one is to find out the quality attributes of Internet telephony service; and the second one is to assess the impact they have on customer satisfaction, customer loyalty and customer performance. In this study, we attempt to empirically answer the above two issues employing SEM (structural equation modeling) and AHP (analytic hierarchy process), and suggest strategic guidelines for successful deployment of Internet telephony service.

  • The ocean has settled down in human mind as a territory and a leisure space from which anyone enjoys and takes a benefit under the national sovereignty, as the new era of Sea comes. In addition, because the population engaged in marine activities has rapidly increased, the number of marine accidents consequently has grown up as well. In this reason, currently it has been highlighted to devise safety measures to prevent large scale accidents or disasters on the oceans. Therefore, this thesis firstly points out issues and problems of current search and rescue operations, and secondly studies three primary factors of the search and rescue operations, which are decision of search range, decision of search asset, and decision of search duration. Finally, the thesis suggests a theoretical foundation of the search and rescue operations by applying the result of studies and the marine search theory through a theoretical approach to reasonable standards.

  • The purpose of this research is to study empirically the relationship between servant leadership and organizational effectiveness and more importantly the moderating effect of Hospital employees' belief in public service on such relationship. The result showed that servant leadership positively affects three organizational effectiveness including job satisfaction, organizational commitment and OCB(organizational citizenship behavior). It was also found that Veterans Hospital employees' belief in public service moderated the relationship between servant leadership and those three organizational effectiveness variables. In other words, those who have strong belief in public service showed higher job satisfaction, organizational commitment and OCB as well as higher service and responsibility mind. Finally, limitations of the study and suggestions for future studies are presented in the conclusion.

  • The Purposes of this study are to analyze fashion trading area's conditions of Busan area to establish fashion marketing strategies for the conditions of location in choosing the new retailers and to propose the most efficient, optimum fashion trading area(FTA) under the management mind of low cost and high efficiency according to the changes of 21C management paradigm. The subjects of investigation for this study were 1083 women visited FTA in Busan. The data were analyzed by using MANOVA, ANOVA, frequency and trend analysis, and the Cronabach $\alpha$ and Turkey HSD were also applied. The results of this study were summarized as follows. 1 The characteristics of consumer spatial behavior according to fashion trading area show significant difference in starling position, movement means, movement time, visit purpose and visit frequency. 2 The buying behavior of fashion items according to fashion trading area shows difference in fashion trading area shows difference in fashion trading area, store and buying behavior.
