Although the number of smartphone users is continuously increasing due to the advantage of being able to easily use most of the Internet services, the number of counterfeit applications is rapidly increasing and personal information stored in the smartphone is leaked to the outside. Because Android app was developed with Java language, it is relatively easy to create counterfeit apps if attacker performs the de-compilation process to reverse app by abusing the repackaging vulnerability. Although an obfuscation technique can be applied to prevent this, but most mobile apps are not adopted. Therefore, it is fundamentally impossible to block repackaging attacks on Android mobile apps. In addition, personal information stored in the smartphone is leaked outside because it does not provide a forgery self-verification procedure on installing an app in smartphone. In order to solve this problem, blockchain is used to implement a process of certificated application registration and a fake app identification and detection mechanism is proposed on Hyperledger Fabric framework.

In this course of Internet proliferation, many network-related technologies are examined for possible growth and evolution. The use of Internet-based technologies is private networks has further fuelled the demand for network-based applications. The most promising among the new paradigms is the use of mobile agents. The mobile agent is capable of migrating autonomously form node to node in the network, to perform some computations on behalf of the user. The mobile agent paradigm is attractive alternative to traditional client-server programming for a significant class of network-centric applications. It does however, suffer. from a major drawback namely, the potential for malicious attacks, abuse of resources, pilfering of information, and other security issues. These issues are significantly hampering the acceptance of the mobile-agent paradigm. This paper describes the design of a secure mobile agent gateway 7hat can split and merge the agent code with security policy database on the VPN. This mechanism will promote security in the mobile agent systems.

The SCADA(Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems are used to control some critical national infrastructures such as electricity, gas, and water distribution systems. Recently, there are many researches on key management scheme for secure communication due to change to the open network environment. We propose a new key management method which is established on ID-based cryptosystem using pairing on MTU(Master Terminal Unit), Sub-MTU, and RTU(Remote Terminal Unit). Furthermore, we present a redistribution protocol of private key of each device and a system recovery protocol as a countermeasure of exposure of KMS(Key Management System) master key which is occurred by some unexpected accidents or malicious attacks.

With the growth of Web services and the development of web exploit toolkits, web-based malware has increased dramatically. Using Javascript Obfuscation, recent web-based malware hide a malicious URL and the exploit code. Thus, pattern matching for network intrusion detection systems has difficulty of detecting malware. Though various methods have proposed to detect Javascript malware on a users' web browser, the overall detection is needed to counter advanced attacks such as APTs(Advanced Persistent Treats), aimed at penetration into a certain an organization's intranet. To overcome the limitation of previous pattern matching for network intrusion detection systems, a novel deobfuscating method to handle obfuscated Javascript is needed. In this paper, we propose a framework for effective hidden malware detection through an automated deobfuscation regardless of advanced obfuscation techniques with overriding JavaScript functions and a separate JavaScript interpreter through to improve jsunpack-n.

SCADA(Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) systems are widely used for control and monitoring of critical infrastructures including electricity, gas and transportation. Any compromise in the security of SCADA systems could result in massive chaos and disaster at a national level if a malicious attacker takes the control of the system. Therefore, sound countermeasures must be provided when the SCADA systems are being developed as well as when they are being operated. Unlike general information processing system, SCADA systems have different service responses, communication protocols and network architectures and therefore a different approach should be applied to each SCADA systems that takes into consideration of each system's security characteristics and architectures. In addition, legal basis should be established to ensure the nationwide management of the systems security. This paper examines the vulnerabilites of SCADA systems and proposes action plans to protect the systems against cyber attacks.

The reversible data hiding technique safely transmits secret data to the recipient from malicious attacks by third parties. In addition, this technique can completely restore the image used as a transmission medium for secret data. The reversible data hiding schemes have been proposed in various forms, and recently, the reversible data hiding schemes based on interpolation are actively researching. The reversible data hiding scheme based on the interpolation method expands the original image into the cover image and embed secret data. However, the existing interpolation-based reversible data hiding schemes did not embed secret data during the interpolation process. To improve this problem, this paper proposes embedding the first secret data during the image interpolation process and embedding the second secret data into the interpolated cover image. In the embedding process, the original image is divided into blocks without duplicates, and the maximum and minimum values are determined within each block. Three way searching based on the maximum value and two way searching based on the minimum value are performed. And, image interpolation is performed while embedding the first secret data using the PVD scheme. A stego image is created by embedding the second secret data using the maximum difference value and log function in the interpolated cover image. As a result, the proposed scheme embeds secret data twice. In particular, it is possible to embed secret data even during the interpolation process of an image that did not previously embed secret data. Experimental results show that the proposed scheme can transmit more secret data to the receiver while maintaining the image quality similar to other interpolation-based reversible data hiding schemes.
Today, people share information and communicate with others using various information and communication media such as e-mail, smartphones, SNS, etc. However, it is being used in malicious attacks to send a large amount of illegal spam or to use it for fraud by using illegally collected personal information and devices that are vulnerable to security. Illegal spam, smishing, and fraudulent mail(SCAM) cause a lot of direct and indirect damage to companies and users, including not only social costs such as mental fatigue, but also unnecessary consumption of IT infrastructure resources and economic losses. Although there are regulations related to spam, violators of the law are still on the rise by circumventing the law, and victims are constantly occurring, so it is necessary to review what the problem is. This study examined domestic and foreign spam-related regulations and spam-related response activities, identified problems, and suggested improvement countermeasures. Through this study, it was intended to suggest directions for improving spam-related systems in order to block illegal spam and prevent fraudulent damage.
The Internet of Things (IoT) provides data convergence and sharing functions, and IoT technology is the most fundamental core technology in creating new services by convergence of various cutting-edge technologies. However, there are different classification systems for the Internet of Things, and when it is limited to the domestic public sector, it is difficult to properly grasp the current status of which devices are installed and operated with what share, and systematic data or research The results are very difficult to find. Therefore, in this study, the relevance of the classification system for IoT devices was analyzed according to reality based on sales, shipments, and growth rate, and based on this, the actual share of IoT devices among domestic public institutions was analyzed in detail. The derived detailed analysis results are expected to be efficiently utilized in the process of selecting IoT devices for research and analysis to advance information protection technology such as responding to malicious code attacks on IoT devices, analyzing incidents, and strengthening security vulnerabilities.

The tremendous growth of the Internet of things is unbelievable. Many IoT devices have emerged on the market over the last decade. This has made our everyday life easier inside our homes. The technology used at home has changed significantly over the past several decades, leading to what is known today as the smart home. However, this growth has also brought new challenges to our home security and privacy. With the smart home becoming more mainstream, cybersecurity issues have become a fundamental concern. The smart home is an environment where heterogeneous devices and appliances are interconnected through the Internet of Things (IoT) to provide smart services to residents. These services include home climate control, energy management, video on demand, music on-demand, remote healthcare, remote control, and other similar services in a ubiquitous manner. Smart home devices can be controlled via the Internet using smartphones. However, connecting smart home appliances to wireless networks and the Internet makes individuals vulnerable to malicious attacks. Remote access within the same environment or over the Internet requires an effective access control mechanism. This paper intends to shed light on how smart home devices are working as well as the type of security and privacy threats of the smart home. It also illustrated the types of authentication methods that can be used with smart home devices. In addition, a comparison of Smart home IoT-based security protocols was presented along with a security countermeasure that can be used in a smart home environment. Finally, a few open problems were mentioned as future research directions for researchers.

Health information systems (HIS) are facing security challenges on data privacy and confidentiality. These challenges are based on centralized system architecture creating a target for malicious attacks. Blockchain technology has emerged as a trending technology with the potential to improve data security. Despite the effectiveness of this technology, still HIS are suffering from a lack of data privacy and confidentiality. This paper presents a blockchain-based data storage security architecture integrated with an e-Health care system to improve its security. The study employed a qualitative research method where data were collected using interviews and document analysis. Execute-order-validate Fabric's storage security architecture was implemented through private data collection, which is the combination of the actual private data stored in a private state, and a hash of that private data to guarantee data privacy. The key findings of this research show that data privacy and confidentiality are attained through a private data policy. Network peers are decentralized with blockchain only for hash storage to avoid storage challenges. Cost-effectiveness is achieved through data storage within a database of a Hyperledger Fabric. The overall performance of Fabric is higher than Ethereum. Ethereum's low performance is due to its execute-validate architecture which has high computation power with transaction inconsistencies. E-Health care system administrators should be trained and engaged with blockchain architectural designs for health data storage security. Health policymakers should be aware of blockchain technology and make use of the findings. The scientific contribution of this study is based on; cost-effectiveness of secured data storage, the use of hashes of network data stored in each node, and low energy consumption of Fabric leading to high performance.
