  • Based on the linear potential theory with the side wall reflection. the directional spectrum waves are numerically simulated by a source distribution method and these together with long-crested irregular waves are also generated at the towing tank of Pusan National University by considering the transfer function of the wave maker obtained from the regular waves. In the numerical simulation, the characteristics of the directional spreading function are investigated by changing the breadth of the wave-maker unit. the width of the towing tank and the wave period. In the experimental generation, the statistical properties and the power spectrums of the long-crested irregular and directional waves are compared along the towing tank length. The directional spreading functions are also investigated at various positions in the tank.

  • In a situation that ordinal preferences on multiattribute weights are captured, we present two solution approaches: an exact approach and an approximate method. The former, an exact solution approach via interaction with a decision-maker, pursues the progressive reduction of a set of non-dominated alternatives by narrowing down the feasible attribute weights region. Subsequent interactive questions and responses, however, sometimes may not guarantee the best alternative or a complete rank order of a set of alternatives that the decision-maker desires to have. Approximate solution approaches, on the other hand, can be divided into three categories including surrogate weights methods, dominance value-based decision rules, and three classical decision rules. Their efficacies are evaluated in terms of choice accuracy via a simulation analysis. The simulation results indicate that a proposed hybrid approach, intended to combine an exact solution approach through interaction and a dominance value-based approach, is recommendable for aiding a decision making in a case that a final choice is seldom made at single step under attribute weights that are imprecisely specified beyond ordinal descriptions.

  • The objective of this paper is to propose a method of how to perform risk assessment in the early stage of defense research and development for the acquisition of weapon systems. An advanced method for risk assessment and its associated objective functions are developed first based on the concept of systems engineering. The developed method is then applied to carry out the analysis of alternatives in the trade-off environments. As a case study, the multi-purpose training ship is considered, where it is performed using the notions of technology readiness levels, degrees of difficulty, and technology need values to facilitate design space visualization and decision maker interaction. It is noted that decision makers can benefit from our approach as an improved risk assessment method in the context of multi-criteria decision making.

  • In this paper, the hybrid methods are suggested, which use the direction angle information to present running trajectory and track the past locations through a small amount of vehicle's location information. In order to prove the effectiveness of the new technique suggested here, vehicle's location information are collected by running the vehicles moving objects under various conditions. Using the location informations and direction angle information collected with time intervals, the vehicl e's location information is abstracted, compared and analyzed. and I have proved that the suggested techniques are more effective by comparing them with others in various methods such as GPS TrackMaker, difference image techniques, consistency comparison, quantity comparison, vehicle's running distances and so on.

  • In selecting the best project in multi-criteria decision making problems, the imperfect information of consequence and the vague preference of the decision maker(DM) would make the decision analysis more complex together with the conflict of several criteria. In this context, a method is proposed to deal the fuzzy information mentioned before instead of reducing it to a single representative value. And, based on the given imprecise information, projects are ranked completely or partially according to DM's vague preference. The procedure consists, for each pair of projects, of calculating the degree of supporting over all criteria and the degree of opposing with respect to each criterion for their outranking relation. Together with weights for each criterion, these indices produce fuzzy outranking relations for each pair of projects. And a complete or partial ranking of projects is obtained according to outranking degrees considering the interdependence among projects.

  • A 2-D Fluent-based numerical wave tank(FBNWT) capable of simulating wave propagating and overtopping is presented. The FBNWT model is based on the Reynolds averaged Naiver-Stokes equations and VOF free surface tracking method. The piston wave maker system is realized by dynamic mesh technology(DMT) and user defined function(UDF). The non-iteration time advancement(NITA) PISO algorithm is employed for the velocity and pressure coupling. The FBNWT numerical solutions of linear wave propagation have been validated by analytical solutions. Several overtopping problems are simulated and the prediction results show good agreements with the experimental data, which demonstrates that the present model can be utilized in the corresponding analysis.

  • Many Traditional Algebraic Analyses of preference and choice for a finite set of alternatives have been based on binary choices. They have assumed that the binary preference information given by a decision maker is transitive. However, there is considerable evidence that many relations that might occur as preference relations cannot be presented as transitive relations. To construct transitive binary comparisons from intransitive ones, we suggest the notion of superior set, which helps us to understand the structure of intransitive binary comparisons. We also provide a heuristic method to construct transitive binary comparisons. And some merits merits of the suggested method over the existing methods are also discussed.

  • This work has improved the method of Kim and Gal's (6) in that of requiring less response of the DM(decision maker) and ease of reply. The underlying notion is the MCDC(maximally changeable dominance cone) for describing all efficient solutions under the particular preference structure. According to the DM's partial preference expression, enlarging the MCDC is achieved, which results in reducing the solutions needed to take into consideration. The cone generators corresponding to the DM's response are added to the MCDC, which results the MCDC is enlarged. Adopting the scheme of pairwise comparison as a means of acquiring preference attitude, an improved interactive method is proposed. And also, a scheme of choosing a reference point is suggested to achieve the computational efficiency.

  • It is the basic direction of revised education course to bring up the autonomous and creative Koreans to lead the 21st century. In the music education of the middle school it could be said that music program using computer is a very effective medium for learners' sake of stimulating their audio-visual sense at the same time. In this study, I will look around the facility of the computer music program and tried to find the application method to connect the creative learning activity in music class. And I will also show the application method in the musical activity area. For this, I proposed the method for students' creative learning activity in the middle of using Finale 2010 for music notation, Window Moviemaker for image editing and Goldwave for sound editing.

  • Generally, building construction projects have a complex decision-making process because of the participation of various agents. In this situation, a final decision is arrived at by relying on subjective judgments based on the experience of project participants. For this reason, a method of assessing the objectivity of opinions is needed. In previous studies, the multi-criteria decision making method was applied to arrive at a final decision objectively, but this method has a limitation, in that the experience of each decision maker is not considered differently in the decision making process. Therefore, this study proposed a theoretical model using the S-shaped growth curve and regression analysis by building construction project type to quantitatively estimate decision-making reliability according to the experience of individual project participant`s. The developed model could be added to the Multi-criteria decision making method, and secure the objectivity and reliability of project participants' final opinion.
