A study on the relationship between attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, college adjustment, major satisfaction, and academic motivation in college students (대학생의 ADHD성향과 대학적응, 전공만족 및 학습동기의 관련성 연구)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to understand the level and patterns of college adjustment, major satisfaction, academic engagement, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). This study examined the factors influencing adaptation to college life. Methods: This study was approved by the institutional review board of 00 university. We analyzed 166 survey data responses collected by distributing questionnaires from June 1 to July 2, 2020. Statistical product and service solutions version 23.0 was used for statistical analyses. The data were presented as frequencies and percentages or means and standard deviations, and pearson correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were performed. Results: There was a significant difference in the average score of major satisfaction according to the type of college (university) and grades. For college adjustment, there was a significant difference in the average score according to major grades. Academic engagement showed a significant difference in the average score according to the college type and grade. Major satisfaction, college adjustment, and academic motivation showed significant positive correlations among the variables, whereas ADHD, major satisfaction, and college adjustment showed a significant negative correlation. Multiple regression analysis revealed that major satisfaction (p<0.001) and academic motivation (p<0.001) were factors affecting college adjustment (p<0.05). Conclusions: It is necessary to develop and apply specific and systematic adaptation programs to improve the understanding, control, and guidance methods for college students and to promote human relations, such as school life and social life.

A Study on Marital satisfaction and Marital Stability by Level of Socio-Economic Status. (사회경제적 지위에 따른 결혼만족도와 결혼안정성에 관한 연구)

  • The objected of this study were to investigate how social class system influences family life, especially, marital relationship through area of marital satisfaction and marital stability and to find out influences of variables related to marital stability, that is, marital satisfaction, marital alternatives and barriers to marital breakup. The study was performed in a viewpoint of social exchange approach. Major findings were as follows; First, husbands and wive's marital satisfaction and marital stability differed significantly by their level of SES. The marital satisfaction scores and the marital stability score of higher class were higher than those of lower class. second, the higher the marital satisfaction scores and the barriers to marital breakup scores were, the higher the marital stability scores were. And the higher the marital alternatives scores were, the loser the marital stability scores were. Third, the independent influences of variables related to marital stability were differed by level of SES. The last, the typology of marital satisfaction and marital stability differed by level of SES. In lower class, the marriage type of low satisfaction and low stability is more than other types. But in middle and upper class, the most marriage type is high satisfaction and high stability marriage.

Patterns of commitment to Work Role and Fathering and the Level of Life Satisfaction among Married Men (기혼 남성의 아버지역할과 직업역할 몰입 유형화와 생활만족도)

  • The main purpose of this study is to examine the relation between different patterns of commitment to work role and fathering and the level of life satisfaction. 272 fathers, whose oldest child is under 12 years old with professional, managerial and clerical jobs, were selected. The major findings of this study were as follow: 1) Married men with the oldest child under 12 years old were more likely to be committed to fathering than to work role. 2) The significant variables that affected the level of commitment to fathering were the age of the oldest child, the frequency of participation in the meeting after work, parental satisfaction, and how they perceive the spousal support. And the significant variables that affected the level of commitment to work role were type of job, parental distress, work satisfaction, work distress. 3) Patterns of commitment to fathering and work role were categorized into four groups. The names were given as positively balanced commitment pattern, positive fathering commitment pattern, negative fathering commitment pattern, and totally negative commitment pattern. 4) The significant variables important in classifying the patterns of commitment to work role and fathering appeared to be the age of the oldest child, work distress, the frequency of participation in the meeting after work, parental satisfaction, how they perceive the spousal support, work satisfaction and weekend total working hour. 5) The balanced positive commitment to work and fathering was associated with the highest level of life satisfaction.

The effect of clinical practice belonging, satisfaction with major, and work values on career identity of nursing students (간호대학생의 실습소속감, 전공만족도, 직업가치관이 진로정체감에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: This exploratory study aims to identify the influence of clinical practice belonging, satisfaction with major, and work values on the level of career identity among nursing students. Methods: The subjects of this study are 251 senior students from three nursing departments located in a metropolitan city. Using SPSS 22.0, the study uses technical statistics, t-test, One-way ANOVA, correlation, and multiple regression analysis. Results: The average scores for clinical practice belonging, satisfaction with major, and work values were 3.61, 3.87, and 3.70 out of 5.00, respectively, and 2.85 out of 4.00 for career identity. The factors affecting students' career identity were clinical practice belonging, aptitude, satisfaction with clinical practice, satisfaction with major, indoor work, service and employment at hospitals with 40 percent being explained by these variables. Conclusion: Through this study we found that clinical practice belonging has the greatest impact on career identity. In order to enhance clinical practice belonging, universities and clinical institutions need to develop new programs and curricula.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the impacts of personality variables, family variables, job variables, work-family conflict and job satisfaction on life satisfaction of family business workers. The major findings are as follows: 1. There was direct causal effects of job satisfaction, Sunday working level, the duration of the family business, an academic background on life satisfaction of family business workers. 2. Such variables family variables(family size, number of family workers, number of unpaid family workers), working time variables (working hours per a day, saturday working level, flexibility of working time), work-family conflict had indirect causal effects on life satisfaction of family business workers

  • The purposes of the study are to measure the relative importance of independent variables, to analyze relation between user satisfaction and use, and to improve the level of user satisfaction in using e-Trade system(uTradeHub). The study develops the independent variables in three dimensions(i.e the quality of system, quality of information, and quality of service), estimates the level of satisfaction on a par with these variables, and analyzes the causal relation of these variables. The major findings of the study are as follows. First, there is a significant casual relationship between the quality of system and user satisfaction, thus the hypothesis is accepted. Second, there is a significant casual relationship between the quality of information and user satisfaction, thus the hypothesis is accepted. Third, there is a significant casual relationship between the quality of service and user satisfaction, thus the hypothesis is accepted. Final, there is a significant casual relationship between the user satisfaction and use, thus the hypothesis is accepted.

Awareness of Disabled Person and Analysis of Factors Related to the Awareness among Nursing Students (간호학생의 장애인에 대한 인식과 영향요인)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the level of awareness toward disabled persons among nursing students and to identify associating factors for their awareness of disabled persons. Method: 410 nursing students completed the survey on the awareness and frequency of contacts toward disabled persons, self-efficacy, and clinical practice satisfaction. Results: The scores in awareness, contact, clinical practice satisfaction was $50.53{\pm}7.53$, $52.41{\pm}10.61$, $79.21{\pm}10.88$ and $67.04{\pm}9.47$, respectively, indicating. Awareness of disabled persons had significant positive correlations with frequency of contact (p<.001), satisfaction with nursing major (p=.045), satisfaction with clinical practice (p<.001) and self-efficacy (p=.029). Conclusion: To improve awareness of disability, we need to improve student's satisfaction with nursing major and clinical practice by modifying the curriculum. Thereby awareness toward disabled and the weak can improve naturally.

Relationship among Stress, Depression, and Satisfaction to Clinical Practice among Nursing Students (간호대학생의 스트레스, 우울 및 임상실습만족도와의 관계)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship among stress, depression, and satisfaction to clinical practice in nursing students. Methods: Three hundred forty-five nursing college students were selected by convenient sampling and data were collected from October to November, 2011. Results: The nursing students experienced moderate stress level. The most severe stressors were adjustment to school and clinical practice. Also, they experienced more than moderate level of satisfaction on clinical practice. The most satisfiable factors were clinical practice circumstance and practice hours. The sophomore had more severe stress and depression and had lower clinical practice satisfaction than the junior. Satisfying with major in nursing as well as clinical practice had a significantly negative correlation with stress and depression. Conclusion: Based on this results, we need to develop programs for increasing satisfaction to clinical practice and major in nursing. The program will enhance adaptation ability to clinical practice.

The Convergence Study on Influences of Self-esteem in Adulthood and Attachment to Mother on Adult Students' Major Satisfaction in e-learning education (성인학습자의 자아존중감, 모 애착이 이러닝 교육과정의 학습자가 선택한 전공만족도에 미치는 영향에 관한 융합적 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of attachment across an individual's lifespan. The present study explored how mother attachment in childhood influences adult student's major satisfaction and examined the mediating effect of self-esteem between mother attachment and major satisfaction. Participants were 529 adult students enrolled in S Cyber University. They answered a questionnaire about their present self-esteem level, attachment to their mother in childhood, and major satisfaction. By using SEM analysis, this study found that adult students' self-esteem completely mediated between their childhood attachment to their mother and their major satisfaction in adulthood. This result indicates influences of a secure attachment and positive self-esteem on major satisfaction of e-learning adult students.

A Study of Customer Satisfaction upon to the Service Quality in Restaurants (외식업체에서 제공되는 서비스 품질에 대한 고객만족도에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to find out not only customer demands and satisfaction with service quality in restaurants, but the difference between customer satisfaction and employee practice. This study also identifies the factors affecting customer satisfaction. For the purpose, 116 copies of a questionnaire for employees and 213 for customers were analyzed with frequency, percentile, mean, multiple regression analysis, T-test, one-way ANOVA, and Duncan's Multiple range test, using SPSS/WIN 10.0 program. The major findings obtained in this study are as follows: First, customer demands were affected mostly by educational level among socio-demographic variables. Second, customer demand for service quality was not fully being met, considering customer satisfaction level. Third, employee practice was generally above customer satisfaction. Fourth, One of the variables that chiefly affect customer satisfaction was demand for information and facilities.
