Kyujang-gak was an institution established by the King Jungjo's order to enshrine and edit the royal writings and autographs, and to help the revival of learning with more active services in collection, control, and use of the important materials. Furthermore, it was aimed in its establishment to promote the settlement of an innovative and ideal Royal Regime. In this paper, the Outer Kyujang-gak(外奎章閣) of Kangwha Magistracy(江華府), which was one of the lower branches of the Kyujanggak(奎章閣), will be treated, especially about its details of establishment, location, functions, the characteristics and value of its collection. After the Japanese invasion of Korea in 1592, the Historical Deposit Library(史庫) was established at the Kangwha Magistracy to take custody of the royal writings and autographs. An Annex(別庫) was built near by the Historical Deposit Library to enlarge the space in the reign of the King Hyojong. These spaces, however, become insufficient as the amount of materials deposited expanded, and custody for them was also not successful. Therefore, at the April of the 6th year of the King Jungjo's rule, the Outer Kyujang-gak was built at the east of the Temporary Palace(行宮) within Kangwha Magistracy, where the royal materials were deposited. This Outer Kynjang-gak was also called 'Kangdo Oe-gak(江都外閣)', 'Kyujang Oe-gak(奎章外閣)' or 'Simdo Oe-gak(心都外閣)', and its major function was to take custody of the materials and to hand them down to the next generations forever. The Kandwha Magistrate(江華留守) was responsible for the management of the Outer Kyujang-gak. Regular events for the book keeping were enshrinement, inventory and airing. In the 6th year in the reign of the King Jungjo, 4,892 volumes consisting of 762 titles were moved here from the Bon-gmodang(奉謨堂), the Seoseo(西序) in Main Palace, the Annex(別庫), the Deposit Library(史庫) mentioned above, the Kaegsa(客舍) and Chaeg-go(冊庫) within Kangwha Magistracy. By the end of the Joseon Dynasty, through fourteen times of addition altogether, the number of collection enshrined here reached 6,400 volumes consisting of 1,212 titles. The significance of this Outer Kyujang-gak established at the Kangwha Magistracy is in the point that this was one of the most important deopsit libraries of the Joseon Dynasty.
By comparing ‘Jing Mai(${\ulcorner}$經脈${\lrcorner}$)’ and ‘Jin Fu(${\ulcorner}$禁服${\lrcorner}$)’, we are able to see that ‘Jing Mai’ has adopted many of its aspects from ‘Jin Fu’, which also enables us to conclude that ‘Jing Mai’ was made after 'Jin Fu', with the 'Ren Ying Cun Kou Mai Fa(人迎寸口脈法)‘ being considered important. 'Jing Mai' was made relatively late, during the last days of 'Xi Han(西漢)' or early days of 'Dong Han(東漢)'. Also 'Jing Mai' was written after 'Ying Qi(${\ulcorner}$營氣${\lrcorner}$)’. ‘12 Jing Mai’ in ‘Jing Mai’ is based mainly on 'Yin Yang Shi Yi Mai Jiu Jing(${\ulcorner}$陰陽十一脈灸經${\lrcorner}$)‘ and has also referred to other meridian theories, modifying it again by theories of 'Jin Fu' and 'Ying Qi', forming the 'Jing Mai Lian Huan(經脈連環)' part. The major change in '12 Jing Mai' is that '6 Yang Jing(6陽經)' enters the abdominal and thoracic cavity, directly relating to 'Liu Fu(六腑)'. 'Ben Jing(本經)'s connection to 'Ben Zang' is referred to as 'Shu(屬)' and connection to 'Ben Zang(本臟)' is referred to as 'Lou(絡)', clarifying 'Biao Li Guan Xi(表裏關系)' inside and outslde and 'Zang Fu Xiang He(臟腑相合)' congruency. Looking at the pathological condition view of ‘Jing Mai’, the writer of 'Jing Mai Pian' has renewed it and has erased repeated symptoms of 'Suo Seng Bing(所生病)' that appears in 'Shi Dong Bing(是動病)'. If the wrong adoption of theories of previous generations are corrected and parts which do not comply with the text's original meaning and parts that posterities added are deleted, the ancient acupuncture theory preserved in this book is still a precious treasure.
Onbyeong(溫病) is called an acute epidemic febrile disease caused by warm pathogen, a major symptom of Onbyeong is high fever. Doctrine of Onbyeong is a study of an occurrence, progress and treatments of an acute epidemic febrile disease. Doctrine of Onbyeong is valid in the Cheong Dynasty at China. Now, a theory of doctrine of Onbyeong at China and Korea is being applied in not only an acute febrile disease but also many other lifestyle diseases. Onbyeongjobyeon is a book written by Oguktong(吳鞠通). Oguktong was influenced by Jangjung-gyeong(張仲景) "Sanghanron(傷寒論)". Oguktong had organized Seopcheonsa(葉天士)'s medical thoughts and Oguktong's medical experiences. A Samcho(三焦) deteriorated case is divided into three groups - Upper, Middle and Lower-energizer - that is discussed of a vertical progress of Onbyeong. And a Wigiyeonghyeol(衛氣營血) deteriorated case is divided into four groups - Wi, Gi, Yeong and Hyeol - that is discussed of a horizontal progress of Onbyeong. In Korean medicine, there are four types of diagnosis which are watching, listening, asking and taking. Informations, got by four types diagnosis are synthesized and classified for medical treatments. A pulse diagnosis belongs to a method by taking a wrist among four diagnosis. A Korean Medicine doctor makes a conclusion of cause, region and condition of disease by taking a pulse. Because all organs in human body are connected by a meridian system. organs conditions are reflected in a meridian system. So by taking a pulse, a progress and a prognosis of disease is diagnosed In this thesis, by taking a pulse on "Onbyeongjobyeon(溫病條辨)", a location and a feature of disease's cause with weakness and strength of a vital force are examined, and a character of a pulse diagnosis of Onbyeong is examined.
Objectives : This paper studies Zhushang, which is the name of a disease found in excavated books. Zhusang is the first disease listed in Wushierbingfang, which is a medical textbook excavated at Mawangdui, and Zhusang was followed by diseases such as Jinshang and Renshang. The paper studies what disease each of the word is refering to in terms of graphonomy, and compared the difference of their treatment from other classical texts. Methods : The scope of the study of this paper includes the excavated textbooks that seem to contain any disease related to Zhusang, and the two major text books of these are Wushierbingfang and Wuweihandaiyijian. Then Shennongbencao jing, which is the one of the earlier books on herbology, and Bencao gangmu, which was written based on the former, wer used to make comparisons. Parts in Donguibogam that seem to be related to the parts in the excavated texts were also compared. The study was done by first performing historical research on the names of the diseases in the excavated books, and compared them with the contents of the classical texts. Results : The Zhushang discovered in Wushierbingfang refers to wounds caused by metal or wood. It was interesting how they created a word for diseases depending on the cause. Only Jinshang is found in Wuweihandaiyijian, and the fact that different causes gave way to different names tells us that they had corresponding treatment. The categorization of Zhushang, Jinshang, and Renshang is corresponded better in Donguibogam than Chinese medical books.

The purpose of this study was to examine the knowledge and attitude of breast feeding and to explore the predictive variables for the intention of breast feeding of mothers. One hundred and thirty-five mothers who delivered at the D University hospital during the period of May to June in 1996 comprised the sample. Data were collected by questionnaire methods before discharge at the hospital. Data were analyzed using percent, 1-test, and logistic regression. The results were as follows : 1. During their pregnancy, majority of mothers (74.8%) got the breast feeding information. Information sources were book (34.5%), family and relatives(32.4%), mass media(24.3%), and professionals such as nurses and doctors (8.8% ). The frequently reported sources of most encouragement for breast feeding were mother in law(20.7%) and baby's father (11.1% ). 2. The mean score of the items of Knowledge and Attitude toward Breast Feeding Scale were 42.56 (SD=5.47) and 39.07(SD=5.15) , representing positive attitude toward breast feeding. The correlation between knowledge and attitude score was significant(r 〓.54, p<.001). Knowledge of breast feeding were significantly different between breast feeding intention group (including partial breast feeding) and artificial feeding intention group(t=2.79, p<.01) 3. Logistic regression analysis revealed that feeding method in the hospital, delivery type, knowledge toward breast feeding, disease related to pregnancy, complication related to delivery, and educational level of mother were predictives of the intention of breast feeding. 4. The most frequently rated reasons for the plan for mixed feeding were concern about insufficient milk (37.9%) and work(27.6%), The major reasons for plan for artificial milk feeding were having premature baby(25.9%) and maternal health problems including infection(14.8% ) and drug use due to chronic illness (14.8%). From the result of the study, it is recommended to develop supportive nursing intervention strategy to promote breast-feeding intention and practice. The intervention could be more effective to begin early in pregnancy and include teaching for breast feeding skills as well as information provision for positive attitude formation.
