  • 본 연구에서는 유량제어 조직밸브의 기초특성을 집중정수계 모델을 사용하여, 해석하고, 이것을 실험적으로 확인하였다. 그 결과를 요약하면 아래와 같다. 1. 로직밸브의 주밸브 유량은, 그것보다 매우 소유량인 파일럿 유량에 의하여 제어할 수 있다. 2. 주밸브(파핏밸브)~파일럿실간의 개구면적이 주밸브 변위에 비례하도록 밸브를 설계함으로써 주밸브변위(혹은 면적)와 부하유량사이에 양호한 직선성이 얻어진다. 3. 유량제어 로직밸브에서 주밸브 유량의 제어범위의 상한은 기름홈의 개구면적의 최대치에 의하여 결정한다.

  • 준설토 이송 시 윤활층에 전자기장을 인가하여 이송 동력을 절감하고, 송토량을 증가시키는 연구의 일환으로, 이런 전자기장 장치의 실제 적용성을 검증하고자 실현장 8.5km의 이송거리의 준설현장에 전자기장 장치를 설치하여 그 효과를 검증하였다. 이송 유속에 관계되는 운전 조건 및 토질상태와 유동상태를 모니터링하고, 획득한 데이터를 송토량과 동력 사이의 관계로 정리하여 전자기장 인가 후 약 30%의 동력대비 이송량 증가가 있음을 확인하였고, 이를 통해 전자기장 인가가 준설토 이송 시 동력절감에 효과가 있음을 확인하였다.

  • Flow characteristics at secondary recirculation zone in a liquid fuel ramjet combustor were investigated using CFD and Stereoscopic PIV method. The combustors have two rectangular inlets that form 90 degree each other. Three guide vanes were installed in each rectangular inlet to improve the flow stability. The tested angle of the air intakes was 60 degree. The experiments were performed in the water tunnel test with the same Reynolds number in the case of Mach 0.3 at inlet. The computational and experimental results showed that the secondary recirculation flow occurred at the front junction of inlet main stream and combustor chamber. The size of secondary recirculation regions are increased with approaching closer to the center of the combustor. Since the performance of combustor is closely dependent not only on the main recirculation in the dome region but also on the secondary recirculation flow in a junction region, the optimal angle of the air intakes should be considered the recirculation size as frame holder.

The model combustor has two rectangular inlets that form 90 degree angle each other. The tested angles of the air intakes were 30, 45 and 60. Three guide vanes are installed in each rectangular inlet to improve the flow stability. The experiments are performed in the water tunnel test with the same Reynolds number as the case of Mach 0.3 at the inlet. PIV software is developed to measure the characteristics of the flow field in the combustor. The accuracy of the developed PIV program is verified with rotating disk experiment and standard data. The experimental results show that the secondary recirculation flow occurred at the front junction of inlet main stream and combustorchamber. The size of secondary recirculation regions are increased with increasing air inlet angles. Since the performanceof combustor is very dependant on not only the main recirculation in the dome region but also the secondary recirculation flow in a junction region, the optimal angle of the air intakes should consider the both recirculation size as a frame holder.

  • Analyzing the characteristics of blood flow in the blood vessels is very important to diagnose the circulatory diseases. In order to investigate the hemodynamic characteristics in vivo, the measurements of blood flows inside the extraembryonic arterial and venous blood vessels of chicken embryos were carried out using an in vivo micro-PIV technique. The circulatory diseases are closely related with the formation of abnormal hemodynamic shear stress regions, thereby it is important to get blood velocity and vessel's morphological information according to the vessel configuration and the flow conditions. In this study, the flow images of RBCs in blood vessels were obtained using a high-speed CMOS camera with a spatial resolution of approximately 14.6${\mu}$m${\times}$14.6${\mu}$m in the whole circulation network of blood vessels. The blood flows in the veins and arteries show steady laminar and unsteady pulsatile flow characteristics, respectively. The mean blood flows merged (in veins) and bifurcated (in arteries) smoothly into the main blood vessel and branches, respectively, without any flow separation or secondary flow which accompanying large variation of shear stress. Vorticity was high in the inner regions for both types of vessels, where the radius of curvature varied greatly. The instantaneous flows in the arterial blood vessels showed noticeable pulsatility due to the heart beat, and the main features of the velocity waveforms, including pulsatile shape, retrograde flow, mean velocity, maximum velocity and pulsatile frequency, were significantly dependent on the pulsatile condition which dominates the arterial blood flow. In near future, these in vivo experimental results of blood flow measured in various extraembryonic blood vessels would be very useful to understand the hemodynamic characteristics of human blood flows and various blood flow researches for clinically useful hemodynamic discoveries as well.

EFFECTS OF A SPLIT INJECTION ON SPRAY CHARACTERISTICS FOR A COMMON-RAIL TYPE DIESEL INJECTION SYSTEM

  • This work was performed to investigate the effect of a split injection on spray characteristics of fuel sprays injected from a common rail system. In order to analyze the spray behavior and atomization characteristics at various rates of split injections, the injection durations of pilot and main injections were varied in experiments. The injection rate of split injection was measured to study the effect of the pilot injection on the main injection. By using a Nd:YAG laser and an ICCD camera, the development of the injected spray was visualized at various elapsed time from the start of injection. The microscopic characteristics such as SMD and axial velocity were analyzed by using a phase Doppler particle analyzer system. The results indicate that the ambient gas flow generated by the pilot injection affects the behavior of main spray, whereas the effect of pressure variation on the main spray is little. The spray tip penetration of a main spray with pilot injection is longer than that of the single injection by the effect of ambient gas flow. Also the main spray produces larger droplets than the pilot spray due to a small relative velocity between the droplets and ambient gas.

엔진 윤활 시스템에서 오일 압력 변동의 영향 (The Effect of Oil Pressure Fluctuation on the Engine Lubrication System)

  • The connecting rod big-end bearing is one of the most heavily loaded components of the lubrication system of high-speed combustion engines. The supply oil flow has to pass to the main bearing and the rotating crankshaft before entering the connecting rod bearing. It is common knowledge that the centrifugal forces due to the crankshaft rotation influence the oil flow to connecting rod bearing through the oil supply bore, especially, when the oil supply system to the connecting rod bearing has a 180$^{\circ}$circumferential groove via a single drilling in the crankshaft. In this case, it should be confirmed that the groove oil pressure in the main bearing is sufficient to overcome these centrifugal forces. For the purpose, the dynamic oil pressure before entering oil supply bore to the connecting rod bearing was measured instead of averaged oil pressure in main gallery. Experimental test results show that the dynamic oil pressure in the oil groove was more useful than that of main gallery. And it was also found that the oil pressure fluctuation in the groove was sensitively affected by the reduction of the main bearing clearance.
