Character conveys rich storytelling and various design elements. Domestic characters are changing and developing in various forms through SNS and offline sources, which are being developed in the aspect of contents industry. The purpose of this study is to find out and discuss the factors that character users are using Korean characters as storytelling and color factor. In terms of storytelling, they prefer adventure, fantasy, absurd and humorous stories. In terms of color, it seems that they prefer a character with simple and simple color/ warm color and warm / cute color composition. On the other hand, characters with a simple story, which is the main subject of early childhood education, fashion, or toys in the aspect of storytelling, are not preferred. In terms of color, it was shown that 4 or more colors were combined without a main color. These main colorless characters gave complex feelings that are not preferred. In terms of storytelling, it is necessary to develop and develop the contents of OSMU(One-source Multi use) through story development with adventure and fantasy structure. In terms of color, it is necessary to configure the user with a simple and simple color which is preferred by the users. Also, the assembly robot toy character needs to increase the satisfaction of the character through simple color composition. As a result of this study, the factors that satisfy the users in terms of storytelling and color are derived. These results will contribute to the development of theoretical aspects, storytelling aspects, and character design industry aspects. Despite the significance of the above paper, it was inevitable to limit the research on the analysis of the storytelling of specific characters, the research through the color analysis framework, the accurate data analysis on the color analysis, and the simple comparative analysis of one.

This paper aims to investigate the effect of anticipatory motion in Wall E (2008). For the purpose of the study, first of all, an overall discussion on the definition and role of anticipation presented through the related literature review. Based on this, the present study analyzed the functions of anticipatory movements of the main characters, Wall E and EVE in 29 scenes. As a result, this paper found that anticipation is involved in expressions of humanity, thought process, utterance and intonation, the degree of emotion and energy, reinforcement of the character's intention, and biological response within the film. Overall, these findings show that anticipation takes an important part in giving the illusion of life to the characters throughout the movie, which may imply that anticipation can be beneficial for characters with abstract form or limited modality. The ultimate goal of this study is to propose that the animation principles can be used as a tool to analyze character animation and can be applied academically or industrially to other fields such as artificial intelligence.

A high performance license plate recognition system (LPRS) is proposed in this work. The proposed LPRS is composed of the following three main stages: (i) plate region determination, (ii) character segmentation, and (iii) character recognition. During the plate region determination stage, the image is enhanced by image processing algorithms to increase system performance. The rectangular license plate region is obtained using edge-based image processing methods on the binarized image. With the help of skew correction, the plate region is prepared for the character segmentation stage. Characters are separated from each other using vertical projections on the plate region. Segmented characters are prepared for the character recognition stage by a thinning process. At the character recognition stage, a three-layer feedforward artificial neural network using a backpropagation learning algorithm is constructed and the characters are determined.

This is a project presented to obtain Master of Fine Arts degree in Costume Production. The candidate has to present 20 costume illustrations and four full constructed costumes for selected actors. At the presentation, the candidate is given 45 minutes to present followed by questions asked by the committee and audiences and it was presented and exhibited in Brookline Arts Council. The thesis consists of two parts; research and analysis on the play, and the result of the design and production for the $play^{1)}$which consists of four fully built costumes-two in chosen fabrics and the other two in muslin with full closure worn on selected actors for each character. The period for the costume design is the Elizabethan period, the actual period the play Hamlet was written in England. The play Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead is a play written in 1967 from a view of two small characters from Shakespeare's play Hamlet. So the costumes of Hamlet's characters are in full period, but the main two characters' costumes will have some of modern twists.

Anatomical characters of the secondary xylem in roots of Lauraceae, including 6 genera and 13 species grown in Korea, were studied systematically. Lauraceors members studied anatomically possess characters of the secondary xylem that are in the main more specialized than those found in the primitive angiosperm families. The specialized characters are as follows; (1) mostly solitary pores with some radially multiples, (2) mostly simple perforation plates and partially scalariform perforation plates in all species, (3) slightly oblique end wall of vessel element, (4) predominantly alternate intervascular pitting, (5) paratracheal axial parenchyma in all species, (6) heterogeneous II or III vascular rays. Those who are damned in Light in August (1932) include Lena Grove, Joe Christmas as well as Gail Hightower. Through these characters, William Faulkner criticizes the confrontation between the North and the South after Civil War, religious fundamentalism, and racial discrimination which were great social issues in the twentieth century American society. The main characters are commonly isolated from the community through their grandfather's influence instead of father, which lets Americans understand that their faults originated from the beginning of America. Although they tend to approach to the community from their isolation, the damned are refused from the community. However, Faulkner would not lose his hope even on the ground of Christmas's death. By evoking from Hightower and Bunch their responses for good, Lena can draw Hightower into the community, and create her home with Bunch as a final victor. Even in the community being rampant with racial hatred, which most of Americans can not but face with, Faulkner can provide us with a ray of hope through these three characters.

The syntactic pattern recognition system of Korean characters is composed of three main functional parts; Preprocessing, Graph-representation, and Segmentation. In preprocessing routine, the input pattern has been thinned using the Hilditch's thinning algorithm. The graph-representation is the detection of a number of nodes over the input pattern and codification of branches between nodes by 8 directional components. Next, segmentation routine which has been implemented by top down nondeterministic parsing under the control of tree grammar identifies parts of the graph-represented Pattern as basic components of Korean characters. The authors have made sure that this system is effective for recognizing Korean characters through the recognition simulations by digital computer.

This study has analyzed the main works of Hayao Miyazaki, a great master of Japanese animation, and inquired into the internal and external feature of characters depicted in his works. The creation of animation character starts from non-being in the planning step and becomes an important medium which will contain the story and the subject of drama. Therefore it's possible to analogize what he intends to represent through the identity, role and external feature of characters appeared in Hayao Miyazaki's animation. As a result of analyzing these external features, the message pursued by Hayao Miyazaki shows diversified girl character unlike the existing one of Japanimation, the girl characters in his works are sometimes sexless, sometimes androgynous, but they take the role to show the intention of director and to settle matters through new femininity free from any frame. In addition, the story of drama and other components show that the Japanese-typed is being sublimated worldwide with fantasy world through oriental appearance of girl character and various color symbols.

This study focuses on the characters and spacial expressions from the film , one of the representative works of the Coen brothers. The esoteric narrative of the film could be analyzed by understanding the symbolic expressions present throughout the film. The unrealistic characters, spaces, and props that appear along with the main character contain a symbolic meaning and adhere to the artist's worldview. These expressions contribute to creating a unique world for the Coen brothers and significantly impacted later films. Coen brothers' other films and , similarly display the unrecognizable world that coexists with the real world and the powerful presence that dominates it within the world. This study examines the use of symbolic characters and spacial expressions shown in the representative works of the Coen brothers.

This study was carried out to seek the visible marker and make it easy to select the individuals or lines which have excellent characters. Ginseng plants of one to five years were used for this study, and agronomic characters, such as stem diameter. stem length, leaf length, leaf width, petiole length. stem weight, leaf weight, number of leaves, number of leaflets, main root length, root length, root diameter and root weight were determined and correlations among them were estimated. Generally, agronomic characters, such as stem diameter, leaf length, leaf width, number of leaves, number of leaflets, leaf weight and stem weight had positive and highly significant correlations with root weight per plant, the character that has great influence on yield.
