  • The paper presents methodologies and results concerning one- and two-dimensional numerical modeling of radio frequency oscillations in a coaxial transmission line fed with a short pulse of electric current. The line is partially filled with a ferrite material, magnetized longitudinally close to saturation. The 2D model has permitted analyzing, for the first time in the art, the spatial structure and dynamics of the wave field within the radially non-uniform cross-section planes of the non-linear and dispersive guiding structure. This opens ways for optimizing size parameters of the line and the extent to which it is filled with the ferromagnetic material, thus increasing the line's electric strength and intensity of the r.f. oscillations.

  • This paper presents an electromagnetic analysis of a tubular linear machine with axially magnetized permanent magnets using improved analytical techniques. Based on the magnetic vector potential and a two-dimensional polar-coordinate system, the magnetic field and armature reaction field can be derived. Using these, equivalent circuit parameters, such as the electromotive force and inductance, can be obtained analytically. Finally, the generating characteristics are derived with the equivalent circuit method. In this study, the finite element method was employed to provide a comparative evaluation, and experiments were conducted to validate the results of the analytical analysis.

  • Spatial distributions of magnetic flux density in a newly designed magnetized inductively coupled plasma (M-ICP) etcher were investigated. Radial and axial magnetic flux densities as well as the magnetic flux density on the center of the substrate holder were controllable by placing multiple circular coils around the etcher properly. The plasma density non-uniformity in M-ICP (25 Gauss) can be reduced (1.4%) compared to that in ICP (16.7%) when the neutral gas pressure was 0.67 Pa and a right-hand circularly polarized wave (R-wave) can be propagated in to the etcher by making magnetic flux density increases both radially and axially from the center of the substrate holder.

  • The present study formulates the theory of spontaneously emitted electromagnetic fluctuations in magnetized plasmas containing particles with an anisotropic suparthermal (bi-Kappa) velocity distribution function. The formalism is general applying for an arbitrary wave vector orientation and wave polarization, and for any wave-frequency range. As specific applications, the high-frequency electromagnetic fluctuations emitted in the upper-hybrid and multiple harmonic electron cyclotron frequency range are evaluated. The fluctuations for low-frequency are also applied, which include the kinetic $Alfv\acute{e}n$, fast magnetosonic/whistler, kinetic slow mode, ion Bernstein cyclotron modes, and higher-order modes. The model predictions are confirmed by a comparison with particle-in-cell simulations. The study describes how energetic particles described by kappa velocity distribution functions influence the spectrum of high and low frequency fluctuations in magnetized plasmas. The new formalism provides quantitative analysis of naturally occurring electromagnetic fluctuations, and contribute to an understanding of the electromagnetic fluctuations observed in space plasmas, where kappa-distributed particles are ubiquitous.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate treatment efficiency in dyeing wastewater treatment by the high rate aeration system(HRA) and a combination of the HRA with magnetized wastewater treatment system(MWS). At the hydraulic retention time of 16hr, 24hr, 30hr, BOD removal efficiencies of HRA system were 93%, 96% and 98%, combination of the HRA with MWS system were 94%, 96.8% and 98.2%, respectively. In ease of COD, at the hydraulic retention time of 16hr, 24hr, 30hr, COD removal efficiencies of HRA system were 66%, 77.1% and 83.1%, combination of the HRA with MWS system were 70.2%, 80.1% and 86.6%, respectively. The comparison of the HRA and combination of the HRA with MWS, effluent BOD of the former was 22.7mg/${\ell}$ and the latter was 19.4mg/${\ell}$, theretore biological treatment efficiency identified to increase by the MWS.

  • This paper deals with the analytical method to calculate the high temperature demagnetization characteristics of a high-speed machine with diametrically magnetized permanent magnet rotor. The equivalent magnetic circuit model is used to analyze the magnet operating point on high temperature condition. Agreements have been obtained between the results of the analytical model and finite-element analysis on prototype high-speed motors.

  • An Inductively Coupled Plasma(ICP) was employed to prepare the Diamond-Like Carbon film with $CH_4$ gas. We observed the changes of mechanical, optical properties and internal stress of the films according to the variation of discharge power and negative-self bias. When weak magnetic field is applied, the properties of film are observed to change drastically. In magnetized case, the micro-hardness and the internal stress increase up to critical point and droped down in marked contrast to unmagnetized case. It suggests that large amount of ion flux exists due to high dissociation rate of the reactive radicals in plasma with magnetic field as reported elsewhere. As a result of FT-IR absorption measurement it could be confirmed that the $CH_x$ bonding and the micro-hardness and the internal stress decreased with the increase of negative-self bias.

  • The rotational loss is one of the most important problems for the practical applications of PM synchronous motor/generator. This rotational loss is divided as the mechanical loss by windage and bearing and iron loss by hysteresis loop and eddy current in the part of the magnetic field. So, In this paper, a double-sided PMSM/G without the iron loss is designed by analytical method of the magnetic field and estimation of the back-EMF constant represented as the design parameter. This design model consists of the double-sided PM rotor with Halbach magnetized array and coreless 3-phase winding stator. The results show that the double-sided PMSM/G without iron loss can be applicable to the required system without the rotational loss.

  • Magnetic couplings are do not require any mechanical contact with the power transmitted to the secondary side according to the primary side. For this reason, well-suited for isolated systems such as vacuums or high pressure. So, this paper presents the force characteristic analysis of the permanent magnet (PM) linear coupling with vertical magnetized using an analytical magnetic field calculations. Based on the definition of governing equations and magnetic vector potential, we obtained the analytical solutions according to the boundary condition for each of the regions. Also, we derived from the force generated in the permanent magnet surface using the Maxwell stress tensor. The analytical results are proved the validity by comparing to the finite element method (FEM).

  • We study on Argon metastable and 4p state neutral atom density in magnetized ICP Helicon plasmas by Laser Induced Fluorescence and plasma emission. The results show that metastable density is too low at the center of chamber due to significant neutral depletion. Otherwise, 4p state is high at the center of chamber because electron density is very high. Power and pressure dependence of metastable and 4p state neutral atom have been spatially measured in the radial direction of cylindrical chamber.
