고온초전도 자기부상자석의 최적설계에 관한 연구 (Study on the Optimal Design for HTS Magnetic Levitation Magnet)

  • 본 연구에서는 초고속 자기부상열차의 개발을 위한 기초연구의 성격을 가지고 있는 고온초전도 자기부상자석의 최적 설계를 수행하였다. 고온초전도 자기부상자석은 임계전류, 발생자장, 지상도체 등을 고려하여야 하는데 3차원 수치해석법을 이용하여 권선의 구조를 설계하였다. 권선의 형태로써 더블팬케이크형 고온초전도 권선을 선택하였으며 일정한 길이의 초전도선으로 최적의 부상조건을 가지는 구조를 도출하였다. 본 연구에서 제시한 조건은 총 800m 고온초전도선을 사용하는 가정 하에 piece length 400m로 내경 100mm인 더블팬케이크형 코일 2개를 제작하여 직렬로 연결한 부상자석이다. 제작한 자석의 인덕턴스는 279.4mH였으며 임계전류는 42A 였다. 인덕턴스, 발생자장 모두 설계 시 제시한 계산 값과 일치하는 결과를 보여주었으므로 본 연구는 성공적으로 수행되었다고 할 수 있으며 본 결과는 향후 초전도 자기부상자석의 설계에 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

  • An H$_{\infty}$ control system design for a magnetic levitation system is presented. In the control system design, we consider the influence of both disturbances and uncertainties in the model. The main disturbances stem from the position sensors.The uncertainties are divided into electromagnetic and mechanical ones: the former are due to the gain change in the current amplifier, the influence of leakage flux and modelling error in the magnetic circuit and the latter are due to the changes of the mass and the moments of inertia of the vehicle. Therefore, the designed controller is indispensable to guarantee the robustness of this system for both stability and performance. The controller design is based on the standard H$_{\infty}$ optimal control problem. As the novel features in this paper :(1) there are two poles on j.omega.-axis in the control model;(2) an integrator is included in the controller so that equivalently there are three poles on j.omega.-axis in the model. Finally, several experiments and simulations are carried out to verify the high performance and robustness of the designed control system.m.

  • In this paper we propose a controller which has the capability of disturbance measurement calibration for Cds array sensors in a magnetic levitation system. Steady state error due to environment light condition or external disturbance is corrected constantly. The correction is made by the sensors to measure the ball position of the system without additional deployment of sensors.

  • In this paper, we develop a functional test model for magnetic bearing wheels. The functional test model is an electromagnetic levitation system that has three degree of freedom, which consists of one axial suspension from gravity and two axes gimbaling capability to small angels. A nonlinear controller with high-gain observers is proposed and the real-time experiment results show that the rotor is accurately levitated at the desired position and well-balanced, which is a suitable result for the potential use an magnetic bearing wheels. Also, the proposed scheme exhibits better performance when it is compared with the conventional PID control method.

  • To get competitiveness in international markets, it is essential to provide low acquisition, maintenance and operation cost with high reliability, availability and maintainability. It can be achieved by lowering development cost, making proper maintenance planning and scheduling strategies, allocating man power and logistic cost properly. In this paper, we introduces the research on making a model for estimating the life cycle cost of newly developing magnetic levitation train system in Korea. To develop a proper life cycle cost model, we broadly analyzed specs and standards and compared the life cycle cost model developed in other country. Finally, we suggests strategies to develop an unique model for the magnetic levitation train system developing in Korea.

  • In this paper, a robust levitation controller for an attractive MAGLVE system is designed. The design of an H$\infty$ controller based on LMI method is proposed for the control of a simple magnetic levitation system. Attractive MAGLEV system is highly nonlinear and open-loop unstable, and has a very restricted equilibrium region, Also, this system has to tolerate various disturbances caused by propulsion.   • In this work, a magnetic levitation (maglev) system is developed to transport a wafer between semiconductor fabrication process modules in clean rooms to take advantages of eliminating particle and oil contamination that normally exist in conventional transport systems due to contact motion of mechanical components. A main feature of the maglev system developed in this work is that a controller and power supplying part are not mounted on the moving carrier but on the stationary track, which is defined a controller-free carrier, to reduce carrier's weight. Iron-core electromagnets and irons are used for levitation, and air-core electromagnets and permanent magnets are used for stabilization. Analysis, design, and modeling of the magnetically levitated transport system are presented. The performance of the maglev system is experimentally demonstrated.

The fabrication of bulk magnet stacked with HTS tapes for the magnetic levitation

  • With the innovative development of bio, pharmaceutical, and semiconductor technologies, it is essential to demand a next-generation transfer system that minimizes dust and vibrations generated during the manufacturing process. In order to develop dust-free and non-contact transfer systems, the high temperature superconductor (HTS) bulks have been applied as a magnet for levitation. However, sintered HTS bulk magnets are limited in their applications due to their relatively low critical current density (Jc) of several kA/cm2 and low mechanical properties as a ceramic material. In addition, during cooling to cryogenic temperatures repeatedly, cracks and damage may occur by thermal shock. On the other hand, the bulk magnets made by stacked HTS tapes have various advantages, such as relatively high mechanical properties by alternate stacking of the metal and ceramic layer, high magnetic levitation performance by using coated conductors with high Jc of several MA/cm2, consistent superconducting properties, miniaturization, light-weight, etc. In this study, we tried to fabricate HTS tapes stacked bulk magnets with 60 mm × 60 mm area and various numbers of HTS tape stacked layers for magnetic levitation. In order to examine the levitation forces of bulk magnets stacked with HTS tapes from 1 to 16 layers, specialized force measurement apparatus was made and adapted to measure the levitation force. By increasing the number of HTS tapes stacked layers, the levitation force of bulk magnet become larger. 16 HTS tapes stacked bulk magnets show promising levitation force of about 23.5 N, 6.538 kPa at 10 mm of levitated distance from NdFeB permanent magnet.

  • A magnetically levitated micro-positioner is implemented to avoid mechanical friction and increase precision. Since magnetic levitation system is inherently unstable, most concern is focused on a magnetic circuit design to increase the system dynamic stability. For this, the proposed levitation system is constructed by using an antagonistic structure which permits a simple design and robust stability. From the dynamic equations of motion, it is verified that the proposed magnetically levitated system is decoupled in 6 degree-of-freedom motion. Experimental results are presented in terms of time response and accuracy.

  • Recently, the study on bearingless motors which integrate both motor and magnetic bearing function in one stator is very active, as many machines have high rotational speed, high precision, smaller size and lighter weight. In this paper, we propose a novel rotary actuator including function of axial bearing using Lorentz force as a preceding research for development of a bearingless motor. As using Lorentz force, this type has some merits such as the linearity of control force, freedom from flux saturation and high efficiency unlike conventional rotary actuators using a reluctance force. This type is cotrolled independently in levitation and rotational directions respectively. It shows by mathematical expression of levitation force and torque in the proposed rotary actuator. And also, the levitation force is generated by magnetic interaction between the magnetic materials and the rotational torque is generated by Lorentz force. Finally. for verification of this proposed system, a prototype is made and some experiments will be performed in the near future.
