  • These experiments were conducted to learn the antibiosis of microfloral organisms in the casing soil to Mycogone perniciosa, and interactions between M. perniciosa and Agaricus bisporus. The results obtained were as follows: 1. In vitro tests, the development of M. perniciosa was suppressed from the unidentified microfloral organisms in the casing soil. All the infected sporophores of A. bisporus occurred within an area applied with spore suspension of M. perniciosa as spot treatment and no infected ones in the area around the spot treated under cropping conditions. 2. In vitro tests, although the antagonistic relationship between M. perniciosa and A. bisporus was somewhat different in varying the kind of media, A. bisporus ultimately overgrew the colony of M. perniciosa. When spore inoculation of M. perniciosa was applied on the surface of grain spawn of A. bisporus and the mid layer of casing soil under cropping conditions, no infected sporophores were produced, whereas the infected sporophores were only produced on casing soil inoculated on the surface of casing soil with spore suspension.

  • This study was conducted to select the promising antifungal microoganisms for biological control of wet bubble, Mycogone perniciosa. Ninty one isolates of fungi, 342 isolates of bacteria, and 556 actinomycetes were isolated from mushroom composts and soils, were subjected to primary screening test on agar medium base for their antimicrobial spectra. Among them, 12 bacteria and 71 actinomycetes were selected. Among the antibiotic producing microoganisms, 5 cultures were selected on the basis their antibiotic activities on casing soil with Benlate nontolerence M. perniciosa. Finally, AJ-117, AJ-136 and AK-139 were selected as microoganism with antifungal activity against two strains of M. perniciosa.

  • Benomyl has been used to control Mycogone perniciosa for several years, the reduced effect of Benomyl against Mycogone perniciosa has been reporteod here. These experiments were carried out to substitute Benomyl with other chemicals. The isolates of Mycogone perniciosa those Benomyl tolerant are proved to be sensitive to Vitathiram, Difolatan, Ambam and RH-2161. However, these chemicals brought undisirable effects on the cultivation. Basamid and Vapam are found not to be harmful to Agaricus bisporus' mycelial growth in casing soil, these chemicals were treated up to 100 ppm of concentration for 15days in advance of use. Although Mycogone perniciosa was tolerant to Benomyl, Basamid and Vapam were very effective and enabled it to produce higher levels of mushroom sporophores.

  • Prochloraz of fungicide was applied on Mycogone perniciosa causing wet bubble in cultivated mushroom, Agaricus bisporus. In vitro, Prochloraz was an excellent fungicide on two strains of Mycogone, tolerant and non-tolerant to Benomyl, respectively. At the low dosage, Prochloraz more inhibited mycelial growth of mushrooms than Benomyl. At the higher dosage, Benomyl more inhibited the mycelial growth than prochloraz. The higher yield of sporophore of the mushroom with low inferction rate was abtained from several trial of Prochloraz. Prochloroz was concluded to be effective fungicide on Mycogone perniciosa on Agaricus cultivation.

  • 1. The mycelial growth and sporulation of Mycogone perniciosa was compared on modified Czapek's media deficient in carbon source, nitrogen source, K,Mg, P or the heavy metal elements. The mycelial growth was significantly reduced in solution cultures lacking Mg, K or P and only a trace of growth occurred in solutions lacking carbon source or nitrogen source. Most sparse sporulation and smaller chlamydospores than on any of deficient agar media occurred on agar media dificient in carbon source or nitrogen source. 2. In both potato dextrose agar and malt extract solution, growth of the fungus was optimum at $25^{\circ}C$, and undetectable at $10^{\circ}C$ and $35^{\circ}C$. 3. Optimum pH for growth of this fungus was 7.0. 4. This fungus was killed in soil when exposed to $50^{\circ}C$ or higher for 20 minutes or more.

  • This paper is to suggest a concept design of the permanent magnet type magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) device based on the parameter optimization method. Pulse currents in the gradient coils will introduce the effect of eddy currents in the ferromagnetic material, which will worsen the quality of imaging. In order to equalize the magnetic flux in the MRI device for good imaging, the eddy current effect in the ferromagnetic material must be taken into account. This study attempts to use the design of experiment (DOE) and the response surface method (RSM) for equalizing the magnetic flux of the permanent magnet type MRI device using that the magnetic flux can be calculated directly using a commercial finite element analysis package. As a result, optimal shapes of the pole and the yoke of the PM type MRI device can be obtained. The commercial package, ANSYS, is used for analyzing the magnetic field problem and obtaining the resultant magnetic flux.

  • An interesting recent application of intermolecular NOE experiment is the saturation transfer difference NMR(STD-NMR) method that is useful in screening compound libraries to identify bio-active ligands. This technique also identifies the group epitopes of the bound ligand in a reversibly forming protein-ligand complex. We present here a complete relaxation and conformational exchange matrix (CORCEMA) theory (Moseley et al., J. Magn. Reson. B, 108, 243-261 (1995)) applicable for the STD-NMR experiment. Using some ideal model systems we have analyzed the factors that influence the STD intensity changes in the ligand proton NMR spectrum when the resonances from some protons on the receptor protein are saturated. These factors will be discussed and some examples of its application in some model systems will be presented. This CORCEMA theory for STD-NMR and the associated algorithm are useful in a quantitative interpretation of the STD-NMR effects, and are likely to be useful in structure-based drug design efforts. They are also useful in a quantitative characterization of protein-protein (or protein-nucleic acid) contact surfaces from an intermolecular cross-saturation NMR experiment.

  • We investigated the effects of the powder characteristics of various domestic iron oxides (${\alpha}Fe_2O_3$) on the magnetic properties of Sr-ferrites The particle size and the distribution of iron oxides were classified hy three different rerinning methods, and greatly a affected on the magn$\xi$tic prope$\pi$ies and the mmphology of Sr-ferntes. The agglomeration of Ruthner iron oxides and the large particles of Chemirite (CY) above $0.80{\mu}\textrm{m}$ were degraded the prope며es of Sr-fcrrites. The optimal magnetic prope$\pi$ies of Srt territes, showing 68.2 emu/g of saturation magnetization and 4300 Oe of intrinsic coerClvity, were achieved at the following c conditions; Chemirite (P2EP) iron oxides of $0.14{\mu}\textrm{m}$ molar ratio of 5.8. and calcination of $1150^{\circ}C$/1 hr.
