자기부상열차-가이드웨이 통합 시스템의 동적 특성 (Dynamic Response of Coupled Maglev Train and Guideway System)

  • This study is proposed to develop a numerical interaction model of the magnetically levitated(maglev) train and guideway. For this purpose, equation of motion for 6-DOF vehicle model, EMS, guideway and guideway irregularity are derived as the state-space equation. In order to solve the state space equations, the present work was performed via matlab simulation using Runge-Kutta method. Through the simulation, the effect of dynamic response of maglev system to different vehicle speeds, guideway rigidity(EI) and masses is investigated.

  • Ultra-speed tube train, which runs in vacuum atmosphere to overcome aero-dynamic dragging force, is considered as a high-speed ground transportation system to back up long-distance air travel. To realize the ultra-speed tube train, feasibility study of currently available Maglev technologies especially for propulsion and levitation system is needed. Propulsion by linear synchronous motor(LSM) and levitation by electro-dynamic suspension(EDS) which are utilized in the Japan's MLX system could be one of candidated technologies for ultra-speed tube train. In the LSM-EDS system, the key component is superconducting magnet, and its reliability and performance is very important to guarantee the safe-operation of Maglev. As the initiative of the feasibility study, this paper deals with the basic structure of superconducting magnet and core technologies to design and operate it. And by surveying the current R&D achievement in Korea, the nation's capability to develop advanced superconducting magnet for Maglev is presented.

위치신호 보상 및 추정을 통한 초고속 자기부상철도 추력 성능 향상 (Thrust Performance Improvement through Position Signal Compensation and Estimation in Super Speed Maglev)

  • 본 논문에서는 초고속 자기부상철도 추진 제어에 필수적인 차량의 위치검지에 있어서 위치신호 송신지연 및 송신주기가 추력에 미치는 영향을 수치적으로 분석하고 test bed를 이용한 실험을 통해 이를 확인하였다. 위치신호 송신문제를 해결하기 위한 방안으로서 위치신호 보상 및 추정 기법을 제시하였으며 제시된 방법을 test bed에 적용하여 효용성을 검증하였다. 적용 결과 추력이 크게 증가하였으며 이에 따라 차량의 가속도 및 속도 성능이 향상됨을 확인하였다. 본 방법은 향후 개발 예정인 한국형 초고속 자기부상철도의 위치검지시스템에 효과적으로 사용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

  • Maglev is a system that a train runs levitated above a rail. Therefore it is very important to maintain a constant levitation gap for achieving serviceability and ride comfort. This study is a cooperation research subject of the 3-1 subject, performance improvement of maglev track structures, of the Center for Urban Maglev Program in Korea, started in 2006. The aim of this study is development of rapid constructions of bridge superstructure for maglev. At present, precast deck is widely used because of its superiority to cast-in-place concrete on quality and the term of works. The research group suggested basic systems of maglev guideway with PSC-U type and trapezoidal open steel box type girder, and precast deck, cooperating with Korea Railroad Research Institute, the managing institute of the 3-1 subject. In this study, longitudinally full-scale guideway girder system was fabricated and static/dynamic test of the girder was performed for the purpose of the performance evaluation.

  • The principal of a Maglev train is that floats on a magnetic field and is propelled by a linear induction motor. One of advantages is that it generates less noise compared to the wheel-on-rail train, because there are no wheels running along the rail. However, noises due to aero-dynamic disturbance and electrical system such as VVVF inverter and SLIM still occur. In this study, the Maglev cabin noises are measured during running and zero speed conditions. Pass-by noise measurements are performed to obtain outside noise during the operation of the train on the test tract. Data include a single microphone measurement as well as microphone array measurements. The array data are useful for sound source localization and more detailed noise reduction planning.

  • This paper presents the performance and test results of propulsion system which is met the requirements of urban MAGLEV. The design of propulsion system should be considered the effect of attractive force by the magnetic levitation and train running resistance. In this paper, the tractive and braking thrust are calculated and the train performance is simulated for the service track. Finally the test results of complete car are shown to verify the performance.

Maglev(UTM-02) Brake System Change from Pneumatic Bake System to Hydraulic Brake System

  • The Maglev(UTM-02) project is leading by Korea Institute of Machinery & Materials and financially supported from the ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy. The early development stagy of Maglev(UTM-02) was adopted the general urban railway pneumatic brake system due to the Korea domestic industrial environment. Currently there is two commercial operation Light Railway Train(LRT) system in Korea. One is U-Line in Uijungbu, and the other is Everline in Yongin. Both LRT systems are adopting high performance light weight hydraulic brake system. But those design and manufacturing core technology of the brake system is came from a major brake system companies located from aboard. Currently various studies have been continued to increase practical application and to improve competitiveness on performance for each sub-system of Maglev. Also in case of brake system, developing competitive hydraulic brake system is required. In this study, we have introduced the development process and performance evaluation of the new hydraulic brake system of Maglev.

  • 가속도를 계측하여 부상력을 제어하는 것은 가장 기본적인 자기부상열차의 부상공극 제어기법이다. 이에 이 연구에서는 가속도 되먹임에 기반한 부상공극제어기법을 자기부상열차에 적용하고, 이를 고려한 자기부상열차-가이드웨이 상호작용계의 동적거동 해석기법을 개발한다. 개발된 해석기법을 사용하여 실제 자기부상열차-가이드웨이 상호작용계의 동적해석을 수행하였다. 해석 결과를 통해 가속도 되먹임에 기반한 부상공극제어기법을 적용하여도 현재까지 제안된 자기부상열차 설계 기준을 충분히 만족함을 확인하였다. 즉, 현재 제안된 자기부상열차 가이드웨이 구조물의 설계 기준을 보완하여 안전하면서도 경제적인 구조물의 건설이 가능해질 것으로 예상된다.

  • Maglev train system has been continuously received attention as it provides good ride quality and low noise and vibration level. Furthermore it is an eco-friendly transport system with little dust pollutant. However the dynamic performance of the vehicle has been influenced by the track layout and the structural stability of guideways and girders, etc. Especially the levitation control of magnetic module is the most important performance of the Maglev system and is very sensitive about the control algorithm and the parameters of the controller. In this paper, the co-simulation of the control and dynamic model has been proposed and the simulation results for the running simulation on the curve track has been shown.

  • When developers conduct a systems engineering approach the first problems that they will be faced are how to define and analyze the operational concept. In case of practical use project of MAGLEV train, those problems are also important since end products of practical use project must be assured for commercial service level. Lack of domestic developer's experience on systems engineering activity can cause a confusion a progress of the project. This study will propose a guide to establish an operational concept of project to develop or construct urban transit system.
