  • In this paper, multiphase optimization of machine structure is presented. The goal of first step is to obtain (i) light weight, (ii) rigidity statically. In this step, multiple optimization problem with two objective functions is treated using Pareto Genetic Algorithm. Where two objective functions are weight of the structure, and static compliance. The method is applied to a new machine structure design.

  • The grouping of parts into families and machines into cells poses an important problem in the design and planning of the flexible manufacturing system(FMS). This paper proposes a new optimal algorithm of forming machine-part groups to maximize the similarity, based on branching from seed machine and bounding on a completed part. This algorithm is illustrated with numerical example. This algorithm could be applied to the generalized machine-part grouping problem.

  • In this paper,the more accurate and simple synchronous machine model is derived by parameter modification method. At first, the flux linkage state space model is composed by redefining the parameters of synchronous machine and considering the saturation effect approximately. After that, this modified model is apply to the power system model and the effects of power system stability is analyzed by this model's characteristics in fault condition. As the result, the modified synchronous machine model shows more accurate and simple than the privious one.

  • Recently, as the demand for high efficiency, multi-function machine tools has increased, domestic machine tool industries are investing in research and development for Gantry-Type Machining centers. In this thesis, for the purpose of evaluating machining accuracy and designing a machine tool structure, a simplified model of the main frame is suggested. The results show the general characteristics of the optimum design, and the approach is shown as practicable for the preliminary design analysis and improvement of a conceptual design of a Gantry-Type Machining center. This paper's results are expected to improve the static characteristics of Gantry-Type Machine centers. The three-dimensional finite element models proved that the modeling method might be applied to real machine tool structures.

공작기계 열변형의 실험적 보정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Experimental Compensation of Thermal Deformation in Machine Tools)

  • Thermally induced errors of machine tools have been recognized as one of the most important issues in precision machining. This is probably the most formidable obstacle to obtain high level of machining accuracy. To this regard, the experimental compensation methodologies such as software-based method or origin shift of machine tool axes have been suggested. In this research, to cope with thermal deformation, a model based correction was carried out with the function of an external machine coordinate shift. Models with multi-linear regression or neural network were investigated to selected a good one for thermal compensation. Consequently, multi-linear regression model combined with origin shift was verified good enough form the machining of dot matrices of plate with ball end milling.

  • The disc spinning machine is a specific production machine for discs of automobile. Using this machine, we could product superior wheels in hardness and strength to the press method and the machine made process time shorten by one-pass spinning. But, the spinning machine became huge because it needed maximum pressure during the process and this can badly affect the lifetime of components. In this paper, hydraulic control system was designed to make up for defects of spinning machine and to shorten overusing power. Experimental hydraulic control system was used to simulate the wheel disc spinning process and the control performance was evaluated for the required forces and positions.

  • In order to utilize the information of well-known grinding data or grinding machine, a database needs to be designed by considering the delicate property of the machine tools for the high precision and quality of the demanding specification. Among the machine tools, machining conditions of the grinding are various and knowledge repeatance obtained form the grinding process are less credable.Therefore it is desirable for D/B, which is used to set the grinding conditions, to utilize the maximum machine tool capability. The present paper studied occurance limit of chatter vibration and burn considering the characteristics of machine tool. And also basic experiments were performed to establish optimum grinding canditions which can maximize the machining efficiency.

  • Machine tool errors have to be characterized and predicted to improve machine tool accuracy. A real-time error compensation system has been developed based on volumetric error synthesis model which is composed of machine tool errors. This paper deals with new algorithm about verification of machine tool errors. This new algorithm uses a simplified volumetric error synthesis model. This simplified model is constructed with only main components among the error components of the machine. The main error components are analyzed by ball bar test of hemispherical helix. The novel measurement method using ball bar system has many advantages which are more efficient, easier to use than conventional measurement system.

  • This paper is devoted to the development and performance evaluation of a hard bearing type balancing machine for rigid rotors. The pedestals of the balancing machine are designed to be rigid to be rigid enough to enable the balancing to operate far below the fundamental critical speed. The force measuring method is implemented to the balancing machine. The forces due to unbalance are measured through load cell that are attached to the pedestals. A helical coupling is used for transmitting the driving force from an AC servo motor to the rotor to be balanced. The experimental results show that the current hard bearing type balancing machine can indicate the presence of unbalance beyond 1 .mu. m in specific unbalance unit. The limitation of the current balancing machine is due to the coupling that is likely to make inconsistent offset errors everytime the rotor is connected to the machine.

  • Currently A demand of high precision workpiece is increasing in industry. At present, roundness measuring machine using Air bearing, coordinate measuring machine that are used from measurement station. but these machines will not be able to apply to In-line process. because of like these machine's price are very expensive and measurement time is long. also, the complexity of conventional roundness measurement method based on fourier transform, it makes difficult to development analysis program. This work present new architecture of a Out-diameter measuring system fur analysis of roundness of product. In this system, the influence of table motion errors is minimize by using two LVDT sensor and knife edge contact tip. We are produce a test machine and make an experimenter on Out-diameter of test bearing. The measurement result compared with roundness measuring machine.
