  • This paper presents a vision based autonomous inspection system for welding quality control of car sinking seat. In order to overcome the precision error that arises from a visible inspection by operator in the manufacturing process of a car sinking seat, this paper proposes the MVWQC (machine vision based welding quality control) system. This system consists of the CMOS camera and NI machine vision system. The image processing software for the system has been developed using the NI vision builder system. The geometry of welding bead, which is the welding quality criteria, is measured by using the captured image with median filter applied on it. Experiments have been performed to verify the proposed MVWQC of car sinking seat.

  • Up to now, the security system in Korea has been developed from the human security system to more efficient mechanical security system. The mechanical security system has its advantages over the human security system in terms of economy and operation. However, as there are weaknesses in the use of mechanical security equipment such as erroneous alarm sounds, the studies have been done to improve them. This paper tries to suggest how to improve the mechanical security system based on the results of the study on the weakness of the mechanical security obtained through AHP technique.

  • This paper describes a remote monitoring and control system using mobile internet environments through TCP/IP. The server program acts as the main interface between the machine system and the internet technology. The client program is to be distributed to the remote users such as PDA who want to monitor the machine status. A server system is designed to send information of the faults and status of application system to the client part. Therefore, The client parts can take measures and control the system remotely according to the error and faults of system. We developed the client- serversystem for remote control of a green house environment.

  • In this paper, a fault-tolerant Mini-MAP system with high reliability is proposed. For fault-tolerance, the LLC sublayer, MAC sublayer, and physical layer of the Mini-MAP system are dualized. The detection of faults, the replacement of the failed network, and the management of the network are three major functions required for the dualization, and they are performed by ESM(Error Supervisory Machine), EMM(Error Management Machine), and NMM(Network Management Machine) of the proposed fault-tolerant Mini-MAP system, respectively. The ring maintenance function of the MAC sublayer is used for the detection of the faults. In the proposed fault-tolerant Mini-MAP system, the data are received from both of the dualized networks and transmitted to the selected one of the two. We analyze the reliability and the MTTF(Mean Time To Failure) of the proposed fault-tolerant Mini-MAP system and show that it has better performance compared to a general Mini-MAP system.

  • In this study, we identify the structural dynamic characteristics of the rigid body suspension system of waching machine containing rotating system, and consider the methods for the reduction of noise and vibration due to the structural problems. The structural dynamic characteristics of the suspension system have been studied by the computer simulation, in which the commercial software package, "DYMES(Dynamics of Mechanical System)" is used. The behaviour of the supporter by the rotating system has been parametrically studied by computer simulation, and the force and torque which are transferred to the fixed body through the suspension bar also has been calculated. The possibility to decide the position and the stability of the rigid body suspension system for waching machine is demonstrated based on various simulation results.n results.

  • Chemical facility system have dangerous elements that can injure the human like an explosion and a fire, gas poisoning by a leakage of the harmful chemical material. In addition to a vibration of the machine occurs the leakage. Therefore, the chemical factory requires for periodic monitoring of the vibration. But, until now, the operator has executed a monitoring of the machine by the senses.   • The loader of this study is an agriculture machine for a stock farmer. We has much researched about power train and steering system in order to develop a new stock machine. So, the loader developed in this study has a 4 wheel driving system and a 4-type wheel steering system. Though the technological region is some large and general, these technologies are very important and their technical life may be very long. The power train of the loader is consisted of many units as follows, engine, clutch, transmission, and axles. And, the 4-type wheel steering system is consisted of oil tank, oil pump, steering valve, solenold valve, electronic controller, hydraulic cylinders, and touch sensors. This study shows construction logics of power train and steering system. We could know from many working tests that the developed loader with 4-type steeling system has many advantages when driving in a narrow corral.

  • It can be acquired the high effective productivity through of high speed, precision of machine tools, and then, machine tools will be got a competitive power. Industrially advanced countries already developed that the high speed feed is 60m/min using the high speed ball screw. Also, a lot of problems have happened the feed drive system. It is necessary to study about the character of positioning accuracy, heat generation and high speed control for feed drive system of high speed. in this study, we make use of the feed drive system with a high lead ball screw. We'll develop the feed drive system at the speed of 60m/min. Using the design of the mechanical element and the high speed control, the basic design concept can be established. After manufacturing one-shaft feed drive system and then conducting the performance test, It'll be analyzed properties of the high speed feed drive system.

  • Improving the reliability or long-term dependability of a system requires a different approach from the previous emphasis on short-term concerns. The purpose of this paper is to present a reliability evaluation method for an oil cooler intended for high-precision machining centers. The oil cooler system in question is a cooling device that minimizes the deformation caused from the heat generated by driving devices. This system is used for machine tools and semiconductor equipment. We predicted the reliability of the system based on the failure rate database and conducted the reliability test using a test-bed to evaluate the life of the oil cooler. The results provided an indication of the reliability of the system in terms of the failure rate and the MTBF of the oil cooler system and its components, as well as a distribution of the failure mode. These results will help increase the reliability of oil cooler systems. The evaluation method can also be used to determine the reliability of other machinery products.

  • For exposure systems, very accurate alignment between the mask and the substrate is indispensable. In this paper, an automatic alignment system using machine vision for exposure systems is described. Machine vision algorithms are described in detail including extraction of an alignment mark's center position and camera calibration. Methods for extracting parameters for alignment are also presented with some compensation techniques to reduce alignment time. Our alignment system was implemented with a vision system and motion control stages. The performance of the alignment system has been extensively tested with satisfactory results. The performance evaluation shows alignment accuracy of lum within total alignment time of about $2{\sim}3$ seconds including stage moving time.
