Short-Term Photovoltaic Power Generation Forecasting Based on Environmental Factors and GA-SVM

  • Considering the volatility, intermittent and random of photovoltaic (PV) generation systems, accurate forecasting of PV power output is important for the grid scheduling and energy management. In order to improve the accuracy of short-term power forecasting of PV systems, this paper proposes a prediction model based on environmental factors and support vector machine optimized by genetic algorithm (GA-SVM). In order to improve the prediction accuracy of this model, weather conditions are divided into three types, and the gray correlation coefficient algorithm is used to find out a similar day of the predicted day. To avoid parameters optimization into local optima, this paper uses genetic algorithm to optimize SVM parameters. Example verification shows that the prediction accuracy in three types of weather will remain at between 10% -15% and the short-term PV power forecasting model proposed is effective and promising.

반복 공정을 가지는 제약적 병렬기계에서의 일정 계획 수립 (A Scheduling Scheme for Restricted Parallel Machines with Cycling Process)

  • A study on the following parallel machine problem is addressed in this research. An order is completed only when a given number of processes (cycle) are repeated. Anew cycle is possible only upon the completion of the previous cycle. Orders are classified into job group according to product feature. For a machine to switch to a different job group from the currently processing one a major setup is required while a minor setup time is inserted in between two jobs of the same job group. The objective of the study is to find a schedule that minimizes total weighted tardiness. An initial solution is obtained by the RATCS(Restricted Apparent Tardiness Cost with Setup) rule, and a Tabu search is applied to improve the solution. Numerical examples are also presented.

반도체 웨이퍼 제조공정에서의 스케줄링 규칙들의 성능 분석 (Performance Analysis of Scheduling Rules in Semiconductor Wafer Fabrication)

  • Semiconductor wafer fabrication is known to be one of the most complex manufacturing processes due to process intricacy, random yields, product diversity, and rapid changing technologies. In this study we are concerned with the impact of lot release and dispatching policies on the performance of semiconductor wafer fabrication facilities. We consider several semiconductor wafer fabrication environments according to the machine failure types such as no failure, normal MTBF, bottleneck with low MTBF, high randomness, and high MTBF cases. Lot release rules to be considered are Deterministic, Poisson process, WR(Workload Regulation), SA(Starvation Avoidance), and Multi-SA. These rules are combined with several dispatching rules such as FIFO (First In First Out), SRPT (Shortest Remaining Processing Time), and NING/M(smallest Number In Next Queue per Machine). We applied the combined policies to each of semiconductor wafer fabrication environments. These policies are assessed in terms of throughput and flow time. Basically Weins fabrication setup was used to make the simulation models. The simulation parameters were obtained through the preliminary simulation experiments. The key results throughout the simulation experiments is that Multi-SA and SA are the most robust rules, which give mostly good performance for any wafer fabrication environments when used with any dispatching rules. The more important result is that for each of wafer fabrication environments there exist the best and worst choices of lot release and dispatching policies. For example, the Poisson release rule results in the least throughput and largest flow time without regard to failure types and dispatching rules.

Load Balancing Approach to Enhance the Performance in Cloud Computing

  • Virtualization technologies are being adopted and broadly utilized in many fields and at different levels. In cloud computing, achieving load balancing across large distributed virtual machines is considered a complex optimization problem with an essential importance in cloud computing systems and data centers as the overloading or underloading of tasks on VMs may cause multiple issues in the cloud system like longer execution time, machine failure, high power consumption, etc. Therefore, load balancing mechanism is an important aspect in cloud computing that assist in overcoming different performance issues. In this research, we propose a new approach that combines the advantages of different task allocation algorithms like Round robin algorithm, and Random allocation with different threshold techniques like the VM utilization and the number of allocation counts using least connection mechanism. We performed extensive simulations and experiments that augment different scheduling policies to overcome the resource utilization problem without compromising other performance measures like makespan and execution time of the tasks. The proposed system provided better results compared to the original round robin as it takes into consideration the dynamic state of the system.

An Automation Instructor System using Finite State Machine within Web services

  • The majority of the Web's success can be related to its productivity and flexibility. Web Services (WSs) have the means to create new patterns for the delivery of software capabilities. The WS easily provides the use of existing components available via the Internet. WSs are a new trend that shares ubiquitous systems with others, so the popularity of the Web is increased day by day with their associated systems. This paper will explore and adopt the possibility of developing a technique that will automate instructors' scheduling of timetables within a Web services environment. This technique has an advantage that facilitates users to reduce the time cost and effort by reducing errors and costs for institutes. Providing dependable tables to avoid mistakes related to instituting schedules is ensured by an automated repetitive manual procedure. Automated systems are increasingly developed based on organizations and their customers. Still, the setting's difficulty of automation systems increases to rise as the system architecture and applications must accomplish various requirements and specifications of ever-demanding project scenarios. The automation system is composed of an operating system, platforms, devices, machines, control system, and information technology. This architecture provides more productivity and optimized services. The main purpose of this paper is to apply an automation system to enhance both quality and productivity. This paper also covers an agile method of proving an automation system by Finite State Machine (FSM) and Attributed Graph Grammar (AGG) tool.

납기 위반 및 셋업 최소화를 위한 강화학습 기반의 설비 일정계획 모델 (Machine Scheduling Models Based on Reinforcement Learning for Minimizing Due Date Violation and Setup Change)

  • 최근 제조업체들은 제품의 생산방식이 고도화 되고, 복잡해지면서 생산 장비를 효율적으로 사용하는데 어려움을 겪고 있다. 제조공정의 효율성을 방해하는 대표적인 요인들로는 작업물 종류 변경(job change)으로 인한 작업 준비 비용(Setup Cost) 등이 있다. 특히 반도체/LCD 공정과 같이 고가의 생산 장비를 사용하는 공정의 경우 장비의 효율적인 사용이 매우 중요한데, 상호 충돌하는 의사결정인 납기 준수를 최대화 하는 것과 작업물 종류 변경으로 인한 작업 준비 비용을 최소화 하는 것 사이에서 균형을 유지하는 것은 매우 어려운 일이다. 본 연구에서는 납기와 작업 준비 비용이 있는 병렬기계에서 강화학습을 활용하여 납기 및 셋업 비용의 최소화 목표를 달성하는 일정계획 모델을 개발하였다. 제안하는 모델은 DQN(Deep Q-Network) 일정계획 모델로 강화학습기반의 모델이다. 제안모델의 효율성을 측정하기 위해 DQN 모델과 기존에 개발하였던 심층 신경망 기반의 일정계획 생성기법과 휴리스틱 원칙의 결과를 비교하였다. 비교 결과 DQN 일정계획 생성기법이 심층신경망 방식과 휴리스틱 원칙에 비하여 납기 및 셋업 비용이 적은 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

탑재운영절차서 실행환경을 위한 Lua 인터프리터 기반의 가상머신 설계 (Design of a Virtual Machine based on the Lua interpreter for the On-Board Control Procedure Execution Environment)

  • 본 논문에서는 탑재운영절차서 실행환경을 위한 Lua 인터프리터 기반의 가상머신 설계와 기능 및 성능분석 결과를 나타낸다. 한국항공우주연구원에서 계획 중인 달 탐사 임무를 온보드상에서 자율적으로 운영하기 위해 탑재운영절차서 실행환경의 개발이 요구되어졌다. 탑재운영절차서는 위성에 탑재되어 지상 간섭없이 자율적으로 임무 수행을 가능케 함으로써 전파 지연과 제한된 데이터 통신용량을 갖는 심우주 임무들에서 이미 적용되고 있다. 가상머신의 실행엔진인 인터프리터는 고급언어로 작성된 원시코드를 한줄씩 번역하고 실행하므로 컴파일러에 의해 생성된 코드가 실행되는 것에 비해서 실행 속도가 현저하게 느리다. 이를 극복하기위해 레지스터 기반의 Lua 인터프리터를 적용하여 탑재운영절차서 실행환경 설계 및 구현하였으며 실험을 통해 여러 요소들에 따른 성능분석을 수행하였다. 성능분석 결과는 탑재운영절차서 스케줄링 방안 뿐 아니라 Lua 인터프리터를 적용하는 시스템에 적용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Smalltalk 패러다임을 이용한 객체지향 시뮬레이션기반 전문가시스템 (Object-Oriented Simulation-Based Expert System Using a Smalltalk Paradigm)

  • Simulation-Based Expert System(SIMBES) is a very effective tool to solve complex antral hard problems. The SIMBES model includes a simulator, a feature extractor, a machine learning system, a performance evaluator, and a Knowledge-Based Expert System(KBES). Since SIMBES depends on Problem domains, a schedule-based material requirements planning problem, which is NP-hard, was selected to exemplify the SIMBES model. To implement the SIMBES application in Smalltalk paradigm, a system class hierarchy was constructed. The hierarchy consists of five large classes such as Job Generator, Job Scheduler, Job Evaluator, Inference Engine, and Executive System. Several classes inside these classes were identified. Additionally, instance protocols about all classes have been described in terms of messages and pseudo methods. These protocols can be implemented easily by any other object-oriented languages. Furthermore, these results may be used as a skeletal system to develop a new SIMBES efficiently, especially when the application is related to other scheduling problems.

  • 쓰레드는 프로그램의 동시성을 표현하는데 적합하고, 프로세서 모델에 비하여 동기화나 문맥교환의 비용을 줄일 수 있어 기존의 멀티 프로세스 프로그래밍을 대체하고 있다. 운영체계에서 멀티쓰레팅 환경의 제공은 이제 필수적이며, 좋은 성능을 위해서는 운영체계의 지원이 필요하다. ARX 실시간 운영체계는 유저 레벨 멀티쓰레팅을 지원하고 있으며 쓰레드의 성능을 높이고 유저 레벨에서 실시간 스케쥴링이 가능하도록 하기 위하여 동적 가상 쓰레드 바인딩(dynamic virtual stack binding)과 스케쥴링 이벤트 업콜(scheduling event upcall)등의 기법을 지원한다. 본 논문에서는 자바 가상 머신을 통하여 ARX 운영체계의 쓰레드 라이브러리의 성능을 측정하고 다른 운영체계의 멀티쓰레드 라이브러리와 성능 비교를 하였다. 실험결과 ARX 가 제공하는 쓰레드 라이브러리가 다른 운영체계에 비해 우수한 성능을 보여줌을 확인하였다.

  • This paper discusses a knowledge-based system being developed by KAIST and KEPCO to assist planning the annual maintenance schedule of power units. To meet users' requirements, we have designed the system with several features: man-machine interaction, catalog system, user-friendliness, the hybrid-system of math-model and knowledge-base. In this paper, we introduce the outline of our system.
