  • 본 논문은 1MVA까지 대응구성이 가능한 병렬확장구조를 가진 EES용 PCS의 개발에 관해 기술하고 있다. 시장의 다양한 용량요구에 대응하기 위해 Stack과 필터로 구성된 인버터 Stack 판넬을 설계/구현하였으며 이를 이용하여 1MW까지 병렬구성하여 대응이 가능하다. 높은 시스템 전력밀도와 MTBF, 효율을 구현하였으며 이에 대한 설계 및 시스템 제어, 시뮬레이션 결과에 관해 언급한다.

양양양수 온라인 무효전력 운전범위 시험과 과여자제한기(OEL) 동특성 시험 (On-line Tests of on the Yang-Yang Pumped Storage Plant for the Reactive Power Limits and the OEL Dynamics)

  • This paper describes the tests on the reactive power output limit and the Over-Excitation Limiter (OEL) dynamics of a generation unit. The suggested test methods on reactive limit can identify the allowable maximum/minimum reactive power at 100% rated MW in the steady-state unit operation condition. The on-line OEL test method can identify the time characteristics of OEL with the generation output at 50% of the rated MW. These methods are validated by applying to four Yang-Yang pumped storage units with 282 rated MVA each.

  • A zero voltage switching (ZVS) three level resonant pole inverter is presented for high power GTO inverters. The concept of auxiliary resonant commutated pole(ARCP) for two level inverter is extended to the three level inverter. The proposed auxiliary commutation circuit consists of one resonant inductor and two bi-directional switches, which provides ZVS condition to the main devices without increasing device voltage or current stresses. The auxiliary device operates with zero current switching(ZCS) which enables use of the low cost thyristors. The proposed circuit can handle higher voltage and higher power(1-10MVA) comparing to the two level one. Operation and analysis of the proposed circuit are illustrated. Experimental results with 10 KW, 4 kHz prototype are presented to verify the principle of operation.

  • This paper analyse a operating characteristics when the Community Energy System (CES) is operated islanding mode. In the near future, CES might be one of major energy supply structures. The basic concept of CES is that it supplies electrical and thermal energy to the local customer loads through the islanded power network separated from the grid. The CES must be supplying local load with stable energy on the islanding mode, analysing necessary to thoroughly the operation feature. In order to show them, in this paper, we model the CES with 2.34 MVA DG and simulate the operating feature on the islanding mode of CES. The simulation results show that, in order to stability operate, the CES need the efficient load management and generation control schemes during the transition periods.

  • This paper describes the feasibility study of HVDC system application to KEPCO power system for increasing power transfer capability or the flexibility of power delivery from one area to the other using the existing transmission line. This paper assumes the 345kV transmission line connecting between Shinokchun and Sedaegu to be converted to the DC line by replacing the AC insulator with that of DC. Then, the HVDC bipole system of 1000MVA with $\pm300kV$ is designed and the contingency studies are carried out.

  • This paper deals with a wound-field synchronous machines(WFSM), with an electromagnet on its salient rotor, as an alternative to a permanent magnet in the rotor. We then examine the power performance characteristics, loss characteristics, V-curves and large short-circuit ratios for a large-scale synchronous generator, considering the leading and lagging operations, based on the finite-element method. We predict the performance of a 100MVA-class generator based on the operating range for a constant short-circuit ratio. At the last, We compared with the electromagnetic characteristics of three model according to number of slots.

이터 초전도자석 전원공급장치 현장 설치현황 및 시운전 계획 (KO AC/DC Converter System Installation Status and Commissioning Plan at ITER Site)

  • The construction of the ITER tokamak machine is ongoing at a 77% process rate to achieve the first plasma in 2025. The 18 sets of power supply systems comprising 400 MVA thyristor AC/DC converters for the superconducting magnets supplied by Korea (KO) are being installed with other systems, such as PF converters (China), DC busbars (Russia), and cooling water systems (India), in two buildings (Europe). The system interfaces have been defined during the design stage, and the systems have been manufactured. However, during the on-site installation work, several installation and integration issues emerged due to the manufacturing tolerance and design mistakes. To continue the installation and testing, the engineers of each system resolved the interface issues, planned the commissioning, and integrated the test plan. This paper describes the on-site installation status and issues and the commissioning plan of KO AC/DC converters.

  • In Korea, 22.9kV 50MVA HTS (High Temperature Superconducting) cables and 630A/3kA hybrid SFCLs (Superconducting Fault Current Limiters) have been or are being developed by LS Cable, LS Industrial System, and Korea Electric Power Research Institute. They will be installed at Icheon 154kV Substation for real-power-distribution-system operation in 2010. This paper proposes specification of current limiting resistor/reactor for the SFCL and fault current condition of the HTS cable for applying the superconducting devices to Korean power distribution system, from the viewpoint of power system protection.

  • A common problem in many fields of cryogenic power engineering is applying high voltage to cold parts of superconducting apparatus. In many cases, a bushing provides electrical insulation for the conductor which makes the transition from ambient temperature to the cold environment. The 60 kV class cryogenic high voltage bushing for neutral line of the 154 kV / 100MVA high temperature superconducting (HTS) transformer was described. The bushing is energized with the line-to-ground voltage between the coaxial center and outer surrounding conductors; in the axial direction, there was a temperature difference from ambient to about 77 K. For the insulation design of cryogenic bushing, electrical insulation characteristics of the GFRP were discussed in this paper.

  • Static synchronous compensator(STATCOM)은 무효전력을 공급하여 외란을 완화하는 등 전력 품질을 향상시켜 전력 계통을 안정화하는 시스템이다. Cascaded H-bridge(CHB) 컨버터는 멀티레벨 구조를 가지므로 STATCOM 시스템 적용에 많은 이점이 있다. 하지만, 이러한 멀티레벨 CHB 컨버터의 안정적인 동작을 위해서는 균형 제어가 필수적이다. 본 논문에서는 Y 결선 CHB 컨버터의 레그 에너지 균형 제어에 사용되는 주입 영상분 전압에 대하여 분석하고 균형 제어의 동특성 향상을 위한 전향 보상 계산 방법을 제안하였다. 제안한 방법을 적용하여 부하 불평형뿐만 아니라 계통 사고로 인한 계통 및 부하 동시 불균형에서도 안정적으로 시스템을 동작할 수 있다. 마지막으로 제안한 방법에 대한 수학적 타당성을 제시하고, 50MVA의 실제 스케일의 시뮬레이션을 통해 제안하는 방법을 검증하였다.
