  • The kidney, heart and lung were examined of cats fallen sick lower urinary tract disease(LUTD). There cases typically clinical findings were urinary retention, hematuria, dehydration, cytoplegia and uremia. It is believed that these histopathological and clinical findings resulted from the struvite crystal thrombus in ureter. But we have many factors of an unsolved problem on LUTD. Accordingly, this LUTD demands to process of pathological diposition.

  • A total of 18 lower urinary tract disease(LUTD) cats were examined by radiographical finding. It is difficult of descend to particular on struvite crystal intraurinary bladder by the usual radiographical technique. However, we have lots of informations by imaging processing method on standing-up position radiograph. This method be helpful from now on LUTD research work.

  • ln order to acquire the fundamental data for the organic solvents in bond and to contribute the health improvement of workers in deprtment of organic solvents in shoes manufacturing industries. The authors surveyed the contents of organic solvent in adhesive and determined the amount of volatilization of organic solvent by time and temperature with gaschromatography from March to September 1990. The results were as follows; 1) The kinds for organic solvents in bond were 9 that was Toluene, C-Hexane, N-Hexane, C-Hexanon, Aceton, Methyl Ethyl Keton, Dimethyl Formamide, Etyly Acetate. 2) Toluene and Methyl Ethyl Keton among the organic solvents in adhesive were over 80.18%. 3) The amount of volatilization of Methyl Cyclohexanone and Aceton by time and temperature were the most level than other compounds.

  • Natural pterocarpan Medicarpin (Med) has been shown to have various beneficial biological roles, including inhibition of osteoclastogenesis, stimulation of bone regeneration and induction of apoptosis. However, the effect of the Med on lipolysis in adipocytes has not been reported. Here, we show the effect of Med on lipolysis in different mouse adipocytes and elucidate the underlying mechanism. We observed that Med treatment promoted release of glycerol in the media. Differentiated mouse brown adipose tissue cells were treated with Med. RNA-Seq analysis was performed to elucidate the effect of med and subsequently was confirmed by qRT-PCR and western blotting analyses. Med treatment increased both protein and gene expression levels of hormone-sensitive lipase (Hsl) and adipose triglyceride lipase (Atgl), which are two critical enzymes necessary for lipolysis. Mechanistic study showed that Med activates Protein Kinase A (PKA) and phosphorylates Hsl at PKA target position at $Serine^{660}$. Silencing of PKA gene by short interfering RNA attenuated the Med-induced increase in glycerol release and Hsl phosphorylation. The results unveil that Med boosts lipolysis via a PKA-dependent pathway in adipocytes and may provide a possible avenue of further research of Med mediated reduction of body fat.

  • Mediator 19 (Med19) is a component of the mediator complex which is a coactivator for DNA-binding factors that activate transcription via RNA polymerase II. Accumulating evidence has shown that Med19 plays important roles in cancer cell proliferation and tumorigenesis. The involvement of Med19 in sensitivity to the chemotherapeutic agent cisplatin was here investigated. We employed RNA interference to reduce Med19 expression in human non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cell lines and analyzed their phenotypic changes. The results showed that after Med19 siRNA transfection, expression of Med19 mRNA and protein was dramatically reduced (p<0.05). Meanwhile, impaired growth potential, arrested cell cycle at G0/G1 phase and enhanced sensitivity to cisplatin were exhibited. Apoptosis and caspase-3 activity were increased when cells were exposed to Med19 siRNA and/or cisplatin. The present findings suggest that Med19 facilitates tumorigenic properties of NSCLC cells and knockdown of Med19 may be a rational therapeutic tool for lung cancer cisplatin sensitization.
