In MBR, extracellular polymeric substance (EPS) is known as an important factor of fouling; soluble EPS (sEPS) affects internal contamination of membrane, and bound EPS (bEPS) affects the formation of the cake layer. The production of EPS changes according to the composition of influent, which affects fouling characteristics. Therefore, in this study, the effects of the F/M ratio on the sEPS concentration, bEPS content, and fouling were evaluated. The effects of F/M ratio on the amount and composition of EPS were confirmed by setting conditions that were very low or higher than the general F/M ratio of MBR, and the fouling occurrence characteristics were evaluated by filtration resistance distribution. As a result, it was found that the sEPS increased significantly with the increase of the F/M ratio. When the substrate was depleted, bEPS content decreased because bEPS was hydrolyzed into BAP and seemed to be used as a substrate. In contrast, when the substrate is sufficient, UAP (utilization-associated products) was rapidly generated in proportion with the consumption of the substrate. UAP has a relatively higher Protein/Carbohydrate ratio (P/C ratio) than BAP, and this means, it has a higher adhesive force to the membrane surface. As a result, UAP seems like causing fouling rather than BAP (biomass-associated products). Therefore, Rf (Resistance of internal contamination) increased rapidly with the increase of UAP, and Rc (Resistance of cake layer) increased with the accumulation of bEPS in proportion, and as a result, the fouling interval was shortened. According to this study, a high F/M ratio leads to an increment in UAP generation and accumulation of bEPS, and by these UAP and bEPS, membrane fouling is promoted.

This study investigates the fundamental properties of the water-binder (W/B) ratio and fine aggregate-binder (F/B) ratio in the alkali-activated slag cement (AASC) mortar. The W/B ratios are 0.35, 0.40, 0.45, and 0.50, respectively. And then the F/B ratios varied between 1.00 and 3.00 at a constant increment of 0.25. The alkali activator was an 2M and 4M NaOH. The measured mechanical properties were compared, flow, compressive strength, absorption, ultra sonic velocity, and dry shrinkage. The flow, compressive strength, absorption, ultra sonic velocity and dry shrinkage decreased with increases W/B ratio. The compressive strength decreases with increase F/B ratio at same W/B ratio. Also, at certain value of F/B ratio significant increase in strength is observed. And S2 (river sand 2) had lower physical properties than S1 (river sand 1) due to the fineness modulus. The results of experiments indicated that the mechanical properties of AASC depended on the W/B ratio and F/B ratio. The optimum range for W/B ratios and F/B ratios of AASC is suggested that the F/B ratios by 1.75~2.50 at each W/B ratios. Moreover, the W/(B+F) ratios between 0.13 and 0.14 had a beneficial effect on the design of AASC mortar.
This paper investigates the relation of invert U-shape between the M/B ratio and leverage ratio by market, firm size, and a level of technology of firm. Our sample consists of 510 manufacturing firms continually listed on the Korea Securities Market and Kosdaq Market from January 1, 2001 to December 31, 2008. The total sample consists of the Korea Securities Market(large firms, high technology industry) sample of 2,248(1,816, 1,704) observations and the Kosdaq Market(small and medium firms, high technology industry) sample of 1,632(2,264, 2,376) observations. The empirical results show that the relation of invert U shape appears on the sample of the Kosdaq Market, small and medium firms, and high technology industry. However, the relation doesn't appear on the sample of the Korea Securities Market, large firms, and low technology industry. These mutually different results may be caused by the relatively low M/B ratio of the latter.

This study determined the optimum mix proportions for volcanic-ash-based geopolymer by analyzing the flow, setting time, and compressive strength. $Na2SiO_3$ and NaOH were used as alkali activators, and NaOH concentrations of 2, 4, 6, and 8M were used for different experimental cases. The A/B ratios examined were 0.25, 0.3, 0.35, 0.4, and 0.45, and the ratios of volcanic ash to blast furnace slag binder were 7:3, 6:4, and 5:5. In the experiment, the flow and setting time tended to decrease and the compressive strength increased as the molarity of NaOH in the geopolymer increased. The optimum molarity of NaOH was determined to be 4M. As the A/B ratio increased, the setting time decreased and the compressive strength increased. The most advantageous A/B ratio for the setting time and strength was 0.35. Increasing the ratio of volcanic ash resulted in a longer setting time and lower compressive strength. The optimum binder ratio was chosen as 6:4 based on the setting time and compressive strength. Thus, 4M of NaOH, an A/B ratio of 0.35, and binder ratio of 6:4 are considered as the proper parameters for the volcanic-ash-based geopolymer.

This study was conducted to derive merchantable volume ratio for 5 major species such as Pinus Densiflora (Central Region). The data used for this study was from at least more than 1,300 trees of research data throughout the country. the study applied two estimation equations, which were the estimation equation for wood volume ratio representing total wood volume to total tree stem volume and the estimation equation for merchantability representing ratio of merchantable volume to total wood volume. The merchantable volume ratio was derived by multiplying those two estimation equations. In order to gain wood volume ratio(W) from DBH, $W=\frac{a_1}{1+a_2/D}+\frac{b_1}{1+b_2/D}$ model was used. Fitness index of it was more than 99% by species, and other test statistics also indicated the suitability of this equation enough. Merchantability (M) for wood volume applied $M=e^{a_1\(\frac{d}{D}\)^{a_2}}-(b_0+b_1D+b_2D^2+b_3D^3)$ model and fitness index was more than 96% by species. Merchantable volume ratio was assessed using those two estimation equations by each 5 species, and constructed a merchantable volume ratio table. In result, merchuntable volume ratio was little difference between stand types, but there was slightly different with the existing standard such as conifers of 85% and non-conifers of 70%.

In this paper, the derivation of protection ratio is newly proposed for the detailed planning of frequency coordination in microwave relay networks, and computed results for protection ratio of co-channel and adjacent channel are illustrated over the actual system and its frequency. It is shown that the suggested method based upon availability prediction can be expressed in terms of composite fade margin, interference-to-noise ratio(I/N), net filter discrimination, and system parameters. According to results, for 6.7 GHz, 60 km, 64-QAM, and I/N= -6 dB at BER $10^{-6}$, composite fade margin and co-channel protection ratio provide 25.5 and 50.7 dB, respectively. Also, net filter discrimination and adjacent channel protection ratio are obtained as 26.3 and 24.4 dB, respectively, at the first adjacent channel of 40 MHz. The proposed method provides some merits in computing protection ratio for microwave relay networks in view of an easy extension and practical applications considering more detailed and various system parameters.

In this paper, we investigated the influence of flow and compressive strength on the mixing ratio and water-to-binder (W/B) ratio of magnesia - potassium phosphate composites for controlling the quality of the Magnesia-Potassium Phosphate Composites(Magnesia-Potassium Phosphate Composites, MPPC) as a matrix material for biological panels. MPPC was produced at 7 W/B ratios (30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55 and 60 vol.%) and 4 P:M ratios (1:0.5, 1:1.0, 1:2.0 and 1:3.0). The experiment results confirmed that the flow and compressive strength of MPPC depend strongly on both P:M and W/B ratios. The flow of MPPC showed that as P: M was increased, the mixing did not occur due to the shortage of the compounding amount for the reaction, because of the large density difference between P and M. The compressive strength of MPPC showed a tendency to decrease with increasing P:Mratio but there was a contradictory result with no proportional change according to W/B ratio. These results indicate that the optimum compounding ratio exists for MPPC according to W/B ratio. These results will be used as the basis data for quality control of the fluidity and compressive strength of matrix materials in terms of material in biological panel design.
The purpose of this study is to identify female 500m sprint start motion by the center of gravity position in short track speed skating. The center of gravity position ratio was divided into three type(type A front : 80%-back : 20%, type B front : 70%-back 30%, type C front: 50%-back : 50%). Three video cameras were used for 3D motion analysis with DLT method and the results were as follows: The elapsed time in starting motion was appeared that type B was the shortest and type A was the longest. It was appear that the stroke length of type A was longer than that type B and C during starting phase. This result was similar to displacement of center of gravity. It was appeared that skill type of center of gravity position ratio type B' ankle and knee joint angle were lower than that of type A and C. Observing these results it was conclusion that skill type B of center of gravity position ratio was more faster than that of type A and C. But it is important that these skill type needed to verifying more subjects.

There are many counting rules for analyzing man-made mineral fibers. The representatives are the NIOSH Method 7400 A and B counting rules. The two rules have different rules of length-to-width ratio(aspect ratio) and diameter. The A rule counts only fibers $>5{\mu}m$ in length, and only fibers with aspect ratio >3:1. The B rule counts only ends of fibers $>5{\mu}m$ in length and $<3{\mu}m$ in diameter, and only fibers with aspect ratio ${\geq}5:1$. The A counting rule had been used before the B counting rule was introduced. The purpose of this study is to compare the A and B counting rules for airborne fibers from various man-made mineral fibers(glass wool fibers, rock wool fibers, refractory ceramic fibers, and continuous filament glass fibers) industries. There were significantly differences between the paired counts of A and B rules in all types of fibers(p<0.05). A rule counts/B rule counts(A/B ratios) were 1.52 for glass fibers, 1.53 for rock wool fibers, 1.19 for RCF, and 1.82 for continuous filament glass fibers. The counting results by A and B counting rules were highly correlated in glass wool fibers, rock wool fibers and refractory ceramic fibers(RCF) samples (r=0.96 for all types of fibers) except continuous filament glass fibers(r=0.82). Regression equations to correct for the differences between counting rules were presented in this paper.

This paper examines the effects of fundamental variables on stock returns. Therefore, the major purpose of this study is to identify fundamental variables having a systematical effect on the stock return. The paper uses panel data analysis. We find that the results of regressions say that firm size, book-to-market ratio(B/M), earning-to-price ratio(E/P), cash flow-to-price ratio(C/P) can explain the differences in average returns across stocks.
