  • This paper presents the output feedback control design for triangular nonlinear systems with input delay. The proposed controller is composed of a high gain observer and a linear controller. It is shown that by using Lyapunov-Krasovskii theorem, the proposed controller ensures an asymptotic stability for sufficiently small input delay. Finally, an illustrative example is given in order to show the effectiveness of our design method.

  • In this paper, the robust nonlinear observer will be developed for PEM fuel cell system. Nonlinear model of PEM fuel cell system is introduced to study the design problems of observer. Sliding mode observer is designed to estimate the cathode and anode pressures of PEMFC system. And a nonlinear state observer is also designed to estimate the other states such as supply manifold pressure, Oxygen pressure, Hydrogen pressure, return manifold pressure, etc. The validity of the proposed observer will be verified by using Lyapunov's stability analysis method.

  • In this paper, a controller based on repetitive learning control is designed to control an unmanned surface vessel with nonlinear characteristics and unknown parameters. First, we define the equations of motion and error system of the unmanned vessel, and then design an repetitive learning controller composed of system error and estimated unknown parameters based on repetitive learning control and adaptive control. The stability of the unmanned vessel model controlled by the designed controller is verified through the analysis of the Lyapunov stability. Simulation shows that the error converges asymptotically to zero with semi-global result, confirming that the unmanned vessel is moving toward a given ideal path, and verifies that the controller is also feasible.

  • This paper investigates the problem of stability analysis and robust H controller for time-delayed systems with parameter uncertainties and stochastic disturbances. It is assumed parameter uncertainties are norm bounded and mean and variance for disturbances of them are known. Firstly, by constructing a newly augmented Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, a stability criterion for nominal systems with time-varying delays is derived in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Secondly, based on the result of stability analysis, a new controller design method is proposed for the nominal form of the systems. Finally, the proposed method is extended to the problem of robust H controller design for a time-delayed system with parameter uncertainties and stochastic disturbances. To show the validity and effectiveness of the presented criteria, three examples are included.

  • In this paper, we propose a tracking control method for a quadrotor equipped with a 2-DOF manipulator, which is based on the multiple sliding surface control (MSSC) method. To derive the model of a quadrotor equipped with a 2-DOF manipulator, we obtain the models of a quadrotor and a 2-DOF manipulator based on the Lagrange-Euler formulation separately - and include the inertia and the reactive torque generated by a manipulator when these obtained models are combined. To make a quadrotor equipped with a manipulator track the desired path, we design a double-loop controller. The desired position is converted into the desired angular position in the outer controller and the system's angle tracks the desired angular position through the inner controller based on the MSSC method. We prove that the position-tracking error asymptotically converges to zero based on the Lyapunov stability theory. Finally, we demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control system through a computer simulation.

  • The finite time optimum regulation problem of a discrete time bilinear system with a quadratic performance criterion is obtained in terms of a sequence discrete algebraic Lyapunov equations. Our new method is based on the successive approximations. This algorithm saves the computation time to solve the optimal problem, and the design procedure is illustrated for an example.

  • In this paper, we propose a robust controller for motion control of n-link robot manipulators using visual feedback. The desired joint velocity and acceleration is obtained by the feature-based visual systems and is used in the joint velocity control loop for trajectory control of the robot manipulator. We design a robust controller that compensates for bounded parametric uncertainties of robot dynamics. The stability analysis of robust joint velocity control system is shown by Lyapunov Method. The effectiveness of the proposed method is shown by simulation results on the 5-link robot manipulators with two degree of freedom.

  • This paper presents an $H_{\infty}$ controller synthesis method for discrete time fuzzy dynamic systems based on a piecewise smooth Lyapunov function. The basic idea of the proposed approach is to construct controllers for the fuzzy dynamic systems in such a way that a Piecewise smooth Lyapunov function can be used to establish the global stability with $H_{\infty}$ performance of the resulting closed loop fuzzy control systems. It is shown that the control laws can be obtained by solving a set of Bilinear Matrix Inequalities (BMIs). An example is given to illustrate the application of the proposed method.

  • In this paper, we propose an adaptive tracking control method of a mobile manipulator for contour following with a kinematic model to have several unknown dimension parameters. Moreover, we will use the decentralized control method to design two independent controllers for two subsystems. The proposed controllers in this paper are based on the Lyapunov function in order to guarantee the stability of whole system for contour following task. The updated laws are also designed to estimated the unknown dimension parameters. Finally, the simulation results are presented to show the validity of the proposed controllers in this paper.

  • In this paper, a nonlinear controller based on adaptive sliding-mode method which has a sliding surface vector including new boundary function is proposed and applied to a two-wheeled voiding mobile robot (WMR). This controller makes the welding point of WMR achieve tracking a reference point which is moving on a smooth curved welding path with a desired constant velocity. The mobile robot is considered in view of a kinematic model and a dynamic model in Cartesian coordinates. The proposed controller can overcome uncertainties and external disturbances by adaptive sliding-mode technique. To design the controller, the tracking error vector is defined, and then the new sliding is proposed to guarantee that the error vector converges to zero asymptotically. The stability of the dynamic system will be shown through the Lyapunov method. The simulations is shown to prove the effectiveness of the proposed controller.
