The purpose of this study was to describe the difference of weight distribution between healthy persons and low back pain patients during normal standing posture and to help the evaluation of weight bearing. 30 healthy persons and 30 low back pain patients being treated as hospitals in Taegu area participated in this study. The results were 2.63kg id the difference of weight distribution of healthy group and 3.04kg in low back pain group. This study was not significantly different between healthy and low back pain group.
Pregnancy and puerperium are associated with significant changes in pschological and physiologic health status. Back and pelvic pain is common in pregnancy with prevalence figures in the range of $48\%-90\%$. The pain starts during pregnancy and often disappears soon after childbirth. But the prevalence of such pain four to six months post postpartum is report to be $25-40\%$. In $10-15\%$ of the case the pain become chronics, that is persisting for more than three months after childbirth. Low back pain and pelvic pain maybe caused by several factors related to changes that occur naturally during pregnancy. Changes in the center of gravity can create a strain on weight-bearing structures in bone. Pregnancy related hormones, relaxin, create general laxity of collagenous tissue. Another factor found to be a possible primary or contributing cause for law back and hip symptoms are leg length inequality, weight gain and changes in foot function. This article outlines the physiological and biomechanical changes that occur during pregnancy which have been reported to be possible causes of low back and pelvic pain And then, examination, diagnosis, evaluation and treatment of the woman during pregnancy are described. Standard treatment for low back pain and pelvic pain in pregnancy includes education in anatomy and kinesiology, back-strengthening exercise, training of the abdominal muscles and body posture correction. So, most woman during pregnancy require individual consultation and physiotherapist.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate effects of education and stabilization exercise of lumbar neutral zone is range of motion and pain of lumbar spine on the with non-specific low back pain. The purpose of this study was to identify the superior exercise on the reduction of low back pain, between the Mckenzie exercise and the williams exercise. 24 chronic low back pain patients were randomly divided into 3 groups (Mckenzie exercise group = 8, williams exercise group = 8, control group = 8). Each group examined using the Borg scale in a reduction of low back pain, the EMG amplitude in a stationary sit-up position and in a stationary 1000 back extension position. The Results are as follow. 1. After the training period, the Mckenzie exercise group and the williams exercise group revealed reduction of low back pain, but the control group does not revealed it. 2. After the training period, there were no significant differences on the reduction of low back pain between the Mckenzie exercise group and the williams exercise group. 3. After the training period, no groups decreased on the abdominal muscle EMG amplitude. 4. After the training period, all groups revealed no significant differences on the abdominal muscle EMG amplitude. 5. After the training period, all groups decreased on the low back muscle EMG amplitude. 6. After the training period, all groups revealed no significant differences on the low back muscle EMG amplitude. Overall, the study suggested that the Mckenzie exercise and the williams exercise achieve the same effect on the reduction of low back pain, and the fact seems to be influenced by other factors without muscular adaptation.
This study is about the correlation of pain strength between Oswestry Disability Index and Hendler 10-Minute Screening Test in the patient of low back pain. The subject were 66, in and out patient who had recieved physical therapy on low back pain in several hospitals at Seoul and Kyungkido. during July 5.-August 27. 1999 1. The average score of Oswestry Disability Index was $24.06{\pm}8.16$ and that of Hendler 10-Minute Screening Test was $24.82{\pm}4.31$. 2. The Pearson's R score between each questionnaires of Oswestry Disability Index and pain strength was .5692. p<0.0001. So it is very high. But, that between each questionnaires of Hendler 10-Minute Screening Test and pain strength was not significant.. 2261 p<0.05 3. The Pearson's R score between Pain strength of Oswestry and person care was .3391, sex life was .3756, social life was .4637 (p<0.005) and that between Pain factor of Hendler, pain area of Hendler and sleeping(4358), sex(.6198), position change(2767), (p<0.005). So it is significant. 4. The categories where we could see the correlation between Pain strenth of Oswestry and Hendler each questionnaires were sleeping(.3222), sex(5524), position change(4291). (p<0.005).
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of hand acupuncture therapy on pain, ROM, ADL, and depression among older people with low back pain and knee joint pain. Methods: The research was a quasi-experimental design using a non-equivalent control group pre-post test. The participants were 40 patients, 18 in the experimental group and 22 in the control group. A pretest and 2 posttest were conducted to measure the main variables. For the experimental group, hand acupuncture therapy, consisting of hand acupuncture and press-pellets based on corresponding points, was given. Results: There were statistically significant differences in pain, ROM in knee joint, and ADL in the experimental group but not in depression compared to the control group over two different times. Conclusion: The hand acupuncture therapy was effective for low back pain, knee joint pain, ROM in knee joint and ADL among the elders in this study. Therefore, the hand acupuncture therapy can be utilized in the field of geriatric nursing as a nursing intervention for older people with low back pain and knee joint pain.

Purpose : The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of Joing Mobilization and Group back Pain Exercise Program on the disability level and the pain of flexibility and the back muscle strength in the hearing impairment patients with Low back pain. Methods : The subjects of this study were 12 patients, 8 males and females. They visited clinic for physical treatment within 6 months after onset of low back pain. One group was applied with Joing Mobilization and other group was with Group back Pain Exercise Program. The patient were treated special program 3 times session weekly. And treatment 2 times session was 15min with physiotherapy weekly. The muscle strength was measured by Cybex 660, the level of disability by Oswestry low back pain disability scale, the intensity of pain by visual analogue scale (VAS). The data was analysed by paired T-test and independent T-test. Results : The results of this study were summarized as follow : 1. The Oswestry disability score of experimental and control group were significantly decreased and there was no difference in the Oswestry disability score change between joint mobilization group and back pain exercise group. 2. The pains in anterior, postrior, lift lateral and right lateral bending and in rotation of back pain exercise group were significantly increased compared with those of joint mobilization group. 3. The flexors and extensors peak torque of back pain exercise group were significantly increased at test velocities $30^{\circ}$/sec, $60^{\circ}$/sec compared with those of the joint mobilization group. There was no significant difference in extensors and flexors peak torque at $30^{\circ}$/sec, $60^{\circ}$/sec between two group. The results showed that the back pain exercise group were effective in decreasing disability score and pain of trunk activity, increasing trunk extension and flexion peak torque. Conclusion : It is suggested theat the back pain exercise program could be an essential factor for the effective intervension to the hearing impairment patients suffere from low back pain.

66 patients with low back pain were evaluated to determine if any differences of weight bearing were existed between the same side leg that feel pain(pain side leg) and that without pain (non-pain side leg) of lower extremities while weight bearing. 66 patients were divided into 3 groups according to pain pattern such as low back pain only(26), radiating pain only(21) and low back pain with radiating pain (19). Control group were 28 normal persons. The weight bearing was rated by Limloader(Model LLD-2000, Ver 1.2) and analyzed by paired and independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Dunan's analaysis and Pearson's correlation analysis. The results of this study were as follows : 1. In patient group, significant difference of weight bearing rating between pain side leg and non-pain side leg was found. There was borne significantly less weight bearing rating(14.68%) on the pain side leg(P<.001). 2. In normal group, there was no significant difference between left and right leg(P>.05). But there was significant difference(3.21%) in absolute difference of both leg(p<.001). 3. The difference of 1 and 2 was 11.47% : more difference of weight bearing rating between both legs in patient group than that of the control group(p<.001). 4. There were significant differences of weight bearing rating in those 3 groups : low back pain group(10.30%), radiating pain group (17.90%) and low back pain with radiating pain group (17.10%) (p<.001). 5. There was significant correlation between pain intensity and difference of weight bearing rating(p<.05). The severer pain intensity. the more difference of weight bearing rating was found. 6. There was no significant correlation between the age, height and duration of symptom, etc(p>.05).
Background: Many patients with chronic low back pain have reduced movement due to pain. For that reason, muscle strength weakens, which leads to pain again. The pain caused by such a vicious circle is not only caused by structural problems, but also by physical function, activity disorder, or psychological depression due to biopsychosocial approaches and pain neuroscience education was applied as an intervention to find out its effect. Therefore, this study was experimented with to find out the effects of pain neuroscience education on pain, physical function, activity disorder, and depression in patients with chronic low back pain. Design: Randomized control trial Method: The study subjects were 39 patients with chronic low back pain, and the study subjects were randomized through computers to the experimental group applying pain neuroscience education and the control group applying only general physical therapy and myofascial release techniques, and the experiment was conducted for 4 weeks. Pressure Pain Threshold , Schober test, Korean Roland-Morris Disability Questionnaire, Korean Oswestry Disability Index, and Korean Depression Screening Assessment were measured. Results: As a result of the study, there was no significant difference in pain neuroscience education compared to the group that applied only general physical therapy and myofascial release techniques in both lumbar pressure pain thresholds, Schober test, Korean Roland-Morris disability questionnaire, and Korean Oswestry disability questionnaire. However, the Korean Depression Screening Assessment which is the result of measuring depression, showed significant results(p<0.05). Conclusion: Therefore, it is believed that it can be a way to mediate the psychological part through pain neuroscience education for patients with chronic low back pain in the future.
