A Study on the Design of Telemedicine System Using Image Division Communication (영상분할 통신을 이용한 원격진료시스템의 설계에 관한 연구)

  • In general cases, the conventional internet connected to a terrestrial network is transmit too large medical images. To overcome this low speed transmitting rate problem of the interned, we have studied about an image division communication system as a fast telemedicine system. The image division communication system was 5-10 times faster than the conventional terrestrial internet link. Also we have developed a Web-based telemedicine system that can access every permitted server of hospitals via the internet. Studied image division communication corrected problem of other reflex quality decline in erratic transmission of reflex by transmission speed imbalance that is problem of single communication techniques that used in existing reflex transmission. Also, could keep quality state of fixed reflex gouge abnormal transmission speed. Visual Basic and C++, ASP programming techniques were used to make our system and it can access and retrieve medical information and image through only public web browse such as internet explorer without additional specific tools. To increase the transmitting speed of our telemedicine system, JPEG method was used. In conclusion, we were able to develop a fast and public telemedicine system using the proposed image division communication system and Web technology. Image division communication system technology increased the speed of the conventional internet and Web technology extended the scope of use for telemedicine system from intrahospital to public use.

  • In recent trends of the enlargement and specialization, container ship, LNCG, PCC and passenger ship which have relatively large hull and superstructure above the water line, are already being operated in the world It is very important information for the safety operation of these vessels to estimate the ship's performance under the specific wind condition while berthing, unberthing or low-speed sailing. In this paper, the effect of wind force and moment acting on the training ship HANNARA is investigated by using the numerical calculations. The results of drift angle and counter rudder angle with the relative wind direction and force, the critical wind velocity with the ratio of wind velocity and ship's speed and maximum heeling angle with the wind velocity are shown The presented results can be applied directly to T/S HANNARA in berthing maneuver and avoiding typhoons, and utilized as an educational materials.

  • Electrochromism is defined as a phenomenon which involves persistently repeated change of optical properties between bleached state and colored state by simultaneous injection of electrons and ions, sufficient to induce an electrochemical redox process. Due to this feature, considerable progress has been made in the synthesis of electrochromic (EC) materials, improvements of EC properties in EC devices such as light shutter, smart window and variable reflectance mirrors etc. Among the variable EC materials, solid-state inorganics in particular, metal oxide semiconducting materials such as nickel oxide (NiO) have been investigated extensively. The NiO that is an anodic EC material is of special interest because of high color contrast ratio, large dynamic range and low material cost. The high performance EC devices should present the use of standard industrial production techniques to produce films with high coloration efficiency, rapid switching speed and robust reversibility. Generally, the color contrast and the optical switching speed increase drastically if high surface area is used. The structure of porous thin film provides a specific surface area and can facilitate a very short response time of the reaction between the surface and ions. The large variety of methods has been used to prepare the porous NiO thin films such as sol-gel process, chemical bath deposition and sputtering. Few studies have been reported on NiO thin films made by using sol-gel method. However, compared with dry process, wet processes that have the questions of the durability and the vestige of bleached state color limit the thin films practical use, especially when prepared by sol-gel method. In this study, we synthesis the porous NiO thin films on the fluorine doped tin oxide (FTO) glass by using sputtering and anodizing method. Also we compared electrical and optical properties of NiO thin films prepared by sol gel. The porous structure is promised to be helpful to the properties enhancement of the EC devices.

A Study on the Cutting and Vibratory Characteristics of the Eccentrically Rotating Cutter-Bar System (편심회전 봉형 절단장치의 절단 및 진동 특성에 관한 연구)

  • This work was intended to study the cutting graph and vibratory phenomina of a newly developed mower which may be suitable for mowing agricultural product having large and hard stems like corn and sugar beet. The system consists of cutter-bar having Curvilinear-translation motion, which attached to drag-crank mechanism. The motion of equation developed for experimental vibratory system which equipped with the cutter-bar system was established and the parameters defining the system's vibratory motion were experimentally determined. The optimum balancing weight for the cutter-bar am vibratory characteristics of the cutter-bar for various counterweight were analyzed to provide the design and operational conditions. The results of the study are summarized as follows; (1) The cutting graph by the new cutter-bar system depends upon the magnitude of ratio of forward travel(Vm) to crank speed (R$\omega$); The cutting pitch for Vm/R$\omega$ 1 (whole cycle cutting) and Vm/R$\omega$=2/$\pi$ (a half cycle cutting) are 2$\pi$ Vm and 4R, respectively. (2) The experimental vibratory system had been proved to function adequately so that it can be used in determining the required counterweight to minimize the vibratory motion of cutter-bar. (3) Experimentally determined counterweight to give the least vibratory motion was a little greater than the theoretically determined one. With the optimum counterweight it was possible to reduce up to about 87% of the amplitude without counterweight, which may be considered to be within safe operational region. (4) To avoid the actual operation of the cutter-bar at resonance which occured in low frequency ratio, it was considered that the rotational speed of the crank for a specific design of mower should be determined separately in connection with the desired cutting graph.

A Correlation Model of Traffic Safety and Personality in Elderly and Non-Elderly People (고령자와 비고령자의 성격과 교통안전 연관성 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore a correlation model of traffic safety and personality in elderly and non-elderly people. The correlation model is constructed by a factor regression analysis with latent factors and items related to traffic safety consciousness. As a result, it is found that non-elderly people with positive, active, perfectionistic, and unforgiving personality are likely to speed, have a high chance to be involved in traffic accidents, and tend to give low scores to traffic conditions. However, elderly people who are highly educated are likely to give high scores to traffic conditions and do not speed. Instead, elderly people become more likely to be involved in traffic accidents when they are engaged in more social activities. The results could contribute to developing traffic safety education and policy that is better customized to the specific needs of different groups of road users.

Korean Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Fourth Edition Profiles in Child and Adolescent with Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder : Retrospective Study (주의력결핍 과잉행동장애 아동청소년의 Korean Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Fourth Edition 프로파일 : 후향적 의무기록 분석)

  • Objectives : The aim of this study was to investigate Korean Wechsler Intelligence profiles and specific abilities related to attention problem of children with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Methods : The Korean Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-fourth edition (K-WISC-IV) and Advanced Test of Attention (ATA) were administered to 91 children and adolescents (age $8.5{\pm}2.6$ years, 73 boys) with ADHD. Pearson correlation and independent t-tests were used. Results : The means of Working Memory Index (WMI) and Processing Speed Index (PSI) showed a score of low average in K-WISC-IV. WMI scores for the K-WISC-IV showed clinically significant correlations with omission errors, commission errors, and response time variability on auditory ATA. PSI scores also showed significant correlations with response time and variability on visual ATA. In addition, significantly lower digit span backward scores were observed in hyperactive-impulsive/combined subtypes compared to inattentive subtype (t=3.60, p<.001). Conclusion : Children with ADHD showed significantly lower scores in WMI and PSI which were clinically correlated with ATA scores, and hyperactive-impulsive/combined subtypes showed poorer working memory functions in WMI. Follow-up studies are proposed.

Steady-State/Transient Performance Simulation of the Propulsion System for the Canard Rotor Wing UAV during Flight Mode Transition

  • A steady-state/transient performance simulation model was newly developed for the propulsion system of the CRW (Canard Rotor Wing) type UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) during flight mode transition. The CRW type UAV has a new concept RPV (Remotely Piloted Vehicle) which can fly at two flight modes such as the take-off/landing and low speed forward flight mode using the rotary wing driven by engine bypass exhaust gas and the high speed forward flight mode using the stopped wing and main engine thrust. The propulsion system of the CRW type UAV consists of the main engine system and the duct system. The flight vehicle may generally select a proper type and specific engine with acceptable thrust level to meet the flight mission in the propulsion system design phase. In this study, a turbojet engine with one spool was selected by decision of the vehicle system designer, and the duct system is composed of main duct, rotor duct, master valve, rotor tip-jet nozzles, and variable area main nozzle. In order to establish the safe flight mode transition region of the propulsion system, steady-state and transient performance simulation should be needed. Using this simulation model, the optimal fuel flow schedules were obtained to keep the proper surge margin and the turbine inlet temperature limitation through steady-state and transient performance estimation. Furthermore, these analysis results will be used to the control optimization of the propulsion system, later. In the transient performance model, ICV (Inter-Component Volume) model was used. The performance analysis using the developed models was performed at various flight conditions and fuel flow schedules, and these results could set the safe flight mode transition region to satisfy the turbine inlet temperature overshoot limitation as well as the compressor surge margin. Because the engine performance simulation results without the duct system were well agreed with the engine manufacturer's data and the analysis results using a commercial program, it was confirmed that the validity of the proposed performance model was verified. However, the propulsion system performance model including the duct system will be compared with experimental measuring data, later.

A study on the Frequency Analysis Function of the Auricle Using A Notch Filter

  • The human auricle is the first part to receive sound from the outside. In this part, the frequency range of human recognizable form is divided and organized. In this study, we propose modeling by applying a single sound source to the surface of the human auricle. This means that when the sound pressure of a low frequency (low frequency) sound enters the pinna, the impedance felt at the tip of a part of the non-linear surface of the pinna is mainly due to the tensile force at the end of the part of the non-linear surface of the pinna. By expressing the situation of moving at a very small speed, the characteristic impedance of the pinna was confirmed to be negative infinity, and it was also confirmed that the speed at the tip of a part of the non-linear surface of the pinna was 0 in the anti-resonance state. It was found that the wave propagation phenomenon that determines the characteristics of the filter is determined by how large the wavelength, kL, is compared to the length of the tip of a part of the non-straight surface of the pinna. Humans first receive sounds from outside through their ears. The auricle is non-linear and has a curved shape, and it is known that it analyzes frequencies while receiving external sounds. The human ear has an audible frequency range of 20Hz - 20,000Hz. Through the study, we applied the characteristics of the notch filter to hypothesize that the human audible frequency range is separated from the auricle, and applied filter theory to analyze it, and as a result, meaningful results were obtained. The curved part and the inner part of the auricle function as a trumpet, collecting sounds, and at the same time amplifying the weak sound of a specific band. The point was found and the shape of the envelope detected in the auricle was found. Selectivity for selecting sounds coming from the outside is the formula of the pinna that implements the function of Q. The function of distinguishing human-recognizable sound from the pinna from low to high through frequency analysis is performed in the pinna, and the 2-3kHz area, where human hearing threshold is the most sensitive, is also the acoustic impedance of the most recessed area of the pinna. Tribological Behavior of Fe-based Bulk Amorphous Alloy in a Distilled Water Environment (수중환경에서 Fe계 벌크 비정질 합금의 트라이볼로지적 거동)

  • The tribological behavior of an Fe-based bulk amorphous alloy while sliding against a AISI 304 disc is investigated using a unidirectional pin-on-disc type tribometer in dry and distilled water environments. The rod-shaped bulk pins are fabricated by suction casting. The crystallinities of the bulk amorphous alloys before and after the friction tests are determined by X-ray diffraction. The friction coefficient and specific wear rate of the amorphous pin in the water environment are found to be twice and thrice as much as in the dry environment at a low applied pressure, respectively. However, at a higher pressure, the friction coefficient and specific wear rate are 0.4 and 1.02 mg/(Nm/s), respectively, in the water environment. A microstructure analysis shows that the worn surface of the alloy is characterized by delamination from the smooth friction surface, and thus delamination is the main wear mechanism during the friction test in dry sliding environment. In contrast, brittle fracture morphologies are apparent on the friction surface formed in distilled water environment. For the sample tested at a lower sliding speed, the XPS data from the oxide layer are similar to those of the pure element with weak suboxide peaks. For higher sliding speeds, all the main sharp peaks representing the core level binding energies are shifted to the oxide region.

  • In this paper, we present an ASIC(Application Specific Integrated Circuit) design of wavelet transform filter Wavelet transform is used in lots of application fields which include image compression, because it has an excellent energy compaction. The operation characteristic and performance of wavelet transform filter are analyzed by using verilog-HDL(Hardware Description Language). In this paper, the designed wavelet transform filter uses line memory to improve data processing rate. Generally, when it reads and writes data of DRAM by using Fast Page Mode, input and output processing is very fast in horizontal direction but substantially slow in vertical direction. The use of line memory solves this low speed processing problem. As a result, though the size of the chip is getting larger, processing time for an image frame becomes 4.66ms. Generally, since the limit of 1 frame processing time on the data of TV video is 33ms, so it is appropriate for TV video.
