Low Temperature Sintering and Dielectric Properties of Ceramic/glass Composites with CAS-Based glass (CAS계 유리가 첨가된 ceramic/glass 복합체의 소결 및 마이크로파 유전 특성)

  • CAS계 유리에 $CaCO_3-Al_2O_3$ 혼합물 및 화합물을 10, 30 wt% 첨가하여 저온 소걸 및 마이크로파 유전 특성을 고찰하였다. CAS계 유리의 연화온도는 $841^{\circ}C$ 이며, CAS계 유리에 $CaCO_3$ 와 30 wt%의 $CaCO_3-Al_2O_3$ 혼합물을 melting되며, 10 wt%의 $CaCO_3$, $Al_2O_3$, $1CaCO_3-1Al_2O_3$ 혼합물 및 $CaAl_2O_4$ 화합물를 10 wt% 첨가하였을 때 $900^{\circ}C$ 이하에서 소걸이 가능하였다. 복합체의 XRD 상 분석 결과, CaCO3를 첨가하였을 때에는 모든 조성이 비정질을 나타내었고, $Al_2O_3$$1CaCO_3-1Al_2O_3$ 혼합물은 $Al_2O_3$ 결정상이 생성되었고, $CaAl_2O_4$ 화합물은 $CaAl_2Si_2O_8$의 hexagonal와 anorthite 결정상이 생성되었다. 따라서 CAS-10 (A, C-A, CA) 복합체는 $900^{\circ}C$에서 각각 유전율 ($\varepsilon_r$) 6.4, 6.9, 5.15 와 품질계수 ($Q^*f$) 2,400, 1,500, 3,000의 마이크로파 유전 특성을 나타내어 LTCC 기판 재료로 사용이 가능하며, 특히 $CaAl_2O_4$ 화합물을 사용하였을 때 가장 우수한 유전 특성을 나타내는 것을 확인하였다.

  • Objective : Erysipelas is an acute inflammation caused by pyogenic bacteria. This mainly involves the upper part of dermis. It begins as erythematous patches with tenderness, followed by fever, headache, chills and fatigue etc. It may results in edema, obstruction of lymphatics and sepsis. So this experiment is carried out for test whether the Bojeasodok-um subtracted Scrophulariae Radix, Lasiosphaera seu Calvatia, Isatidis Radix added indigo Naturalis, Lithospermi Radix have an anti-inflammatory effect and have suppression effect on immunocyte in the state of inflammation which induced by Erysipelas. Method : Experimental animals made use of 4-5 week-age(weight 20-25g) ICR(male) mouse. In the breeding farm, the lighting time was controlled from 7:00 am till 7:00 pm, the temperature was controlled So we concluded that BS is prospected as an anti-inflammatory agent to cure inflammation induced bywithin 18-23$23^{\circ}C$ and water and food were not limited.The freezing lyophilization powder which were extracted from Bojesodok-Um divided low dose group(200mg/kg-BSL) and high dose group(500mg/kg-BSH) and after melting in water, it was orally administered to the mouse. Compared with inflammation induced group which were induced by triggering-inflammation reagent Carageenan and Zymosan and normal contrast group, we measured the edema decrement effect,macrophage and spleen cell activation. Result : 1. BS has suppress inflammatory reaction induced by Carageenan. 2. BS has suppress increasing activation of abdominal cavity macrophage in the Carageenan and Zymosan induced inflammation. 3. BS has suppress increasing activation of spleen cell in the Carageenan and Zymosan induced inflammation. Based on the above result, BS was improved its suppression effect to the inflammatory reaction through the suppression of spleen cell and macrophage activation. So we concluded that BS is prospected as an anti-inflammatory agent to cure inflammation induced by Erysipelas.

Grain Refinement and Mechanical Properties of AM60 Mg Alloy by $CaCN_2$ Addition (Ca$CN_2$ 첨가에 의한 AM60 마그네슘 합금의 결정립 미세화 및 기계적 성질)

  • Effects of $CaCN_2$ addition on the grain refinement in the AM60 magnesium ingots were investigated. The effects of the $CaCN_2$ are estimated with different inoculation temperatures, inoculation contents, and holding time to find out the optimum condition. AM60 alloy was melted in the low carbon steel crucible by cylindrical electric furnace under an argon atmosphere. The melting and casting apparatus is specially designed for magnesium alloys. The grain size of AM60 magnesium alloy decreased significantly with an increase in $CaCN_2$ content and, at 0.8 wt% $CaCN_2$ or more, grain size becomes constant at about $85 {\mu}m$. The optimum condition was obtained in the 0.8 wt% $CaCN_2$ for holding molten metal of 30 min. at the temperature of $710^{\circ}C$. The tensile properties of AM60 magnesium alloys were improved due to grain refinement by addition of $CaCN_2$. In the optimum condition, the yield strength, tensile strength and elongation were ${\sigma}_{0.2}=107 MPa$, ${\sigma}_{T.S}=234 MPa$ and e=14.2%. The variation of stress with strain obeyed the relationship of the ${\sigma}=K{\varepsilon}^n$. The strain-hardening exponent, n and strength coefficient, K obtained in the 0.8 wt% $CaCN_2$ added AM 60 magnesium alloy were n=0.21 and K=390 MPa.

  • Poly(ethylene glycol) with number-average molecular weight (M$_{n}$) of 200 (PEG 200) or 400 (PEG 400) was reacted with various linking agents (CH$_2$Cl$_2$, CH$_2$Br$_2$, CH$_2$I$_2$, Br(CH$_2$)$_3$Br) in the presence of alkali to form of oxyalkylene linked chains. Molecular weights of copolymers were controlled using feed mole ratio of alkali/CH$_2$C1$_2$/PEG. The M$_{n}$ of the polymers measured by end group analysis and that measured by GPC agreed well. Molecuglar weights of polyether copolymers obtained from PEG 200 and PEG 400 were about 500~8500 and 1000~2000, respectively. Polyether copolymers prepared from PEG 400 showed melting points of around 1$0^{\circ}C$. Glass transition temperatures of the copolymers were around -75$^{\circ}C$ and the crystallinity was about 0~25%. The polyether copolymers prepared from PEG 200 had no crystallinity below the M$_{n}$ of 2500. 2500.

  • Calcium ferrite is a major bonding material self-fluxed sintered ore, and it is used as a flux in the steelmaking process. Calcium ferrite is more effective binder for making sintered ore and flux for steel making because of it's low melting temperature. In this Study, calcium ferrite was made by using variety industrial by-products from steel plant. The property of calcium ferrites was investigated on the basis of test method using in the cement manufacturing process. Crystal analysis, compression test as well as thermal analysis were carried out to evaluate physical properties of calcium ferrite.

  • Fabrication and Characterization of Bi$_{2}$/Sr$_{2}$/CaCu$_{2}$/O$_{8}$(Bi2212) superconductor thick films were fabricated successfully on C tapes by liquid reaction between Cu-free precursors of Bi$_{x}$/SrCaO/$_{y}$(x=1.2-2) and Cu tapes. Cu-free Bi-Sr-Ca-O powder mixtures were screen-printed on Cu tapes and heat-treated at 850-87$0^{\circ}C$ for several minutes in air oxygen nitrogen and low oxygen pressure. In order to obtain the optimum heat-treatment condition we studied the effect of the precursor composition the printing thickness and the heat-treatment atmosphere on the superconducting properties of Bi2212 films and the reaction mechanism. Microstructures and phases of thick films were analyzed by films and the reaction mechanism. Microstructures and phases of thick films were analyzed by optical microscope and XRD. The electric properties of superonducting films were examined by the four probe method. At heat-treatment temperature the thick films were in a partially molten state by liquid reaction between CuO of the oxidized copper tape and the precursors which were printed on Cu tapes. During the heat-treatment procedure Bi2212 superconducting particle nucleate and grow in preferred orientations.ons.s.

  • This study is designed to investigate the method of manufacturing herbal acupuncture through literature of oriental medicine. The findings of this study are as follows; 1. The methods of manufacturing herbal acupuncture go through the process of abstraction, purification, mixing, filtration, putting and tight sealing in the container, sterilization, quality control, printing and packing 2. There are many ways to manufacturing herbal acupuncture, for example water-alcohol precipitation, alcohol-water precipitation, liquid-liquid abstract, acid-base abstract, metal base precipitation, distillation, molecular structure, polyamide absorption, dialysis, and ion exchange, etc. And popular method is water-alcohol precipitation. This is through alcohol precipitate extracting the principal ingredients from water abstraction. This is very simple and efficient way using melting characteristics of compounds in herb to water and ethanol. 3. Sterilization of herbal acupuncture is through heating-pressure, boiling, steam flowing, low temperature, filtering, radiation, cooling, and microwaves. Nowadays filtering is commonly used. And sterilization is estimated by an examination of asepsis . 4. Herbal acupuncture must be undergo study and experiment to clinical use. The problems of herbal acupuncture are turbidity, instability, causing hemolysis, pain, and fever. So many provisions (addition, sterilization, and filtration etc.) must be prepared. 5. The theory of manufacturing herbal acupuncture is from oriental medicine, not western. So it must be corresponded to oriental medical theory, for example Gimi(氣味), Guigyung(歸經), Ingyung(引經), Bosa(補瀉), and Match of Herb. It is recommended that further study of many other sided investigations in the future.

Synthesis of Cu-coated Ni-based Bulk Metallic Glass Powders by Gas Atomization and Spray Drying Process

  • Bulk amorphous materials have been intensively studied to apply for various advanced industry fields due to their high mechanical, chemical and electrical properties. These materials have been produced by several techniques such as mechanical alloying, melt spinning and gas atomization, etc. Among them, the atomization is the most potential technique for commercialization due to high cooling rate during solidification of the melt and mass productivity. However, the amorphous powders still have some limitations because of their low ductility and toughness. Therefore, intensive efforts have to be carried out to increase the ductility and toughness. In this study, the Ni-based amorphous powder was produced by the gas atomization process. And in order to increase the ductile toughness, ductile Cu phase was coated on the Ni amorphous powder by spray drying process. The characteristics of the as-synthesis powders have been examined and briefly mentioned. The master alloy with $Ni_{57}Zr_{20}Ti_{16}Si_2Sn_3$ was prepared by vacuum induction melting furnace with graphite crucible and mold. The atomization was conducted at $1450^{\circ}C$ under the vacuum of $10^{-2}$ torr. The gas pressure during atomization was varied from 35 to 50 bars. After making the Ni amorphous powders, the spray drying was processed to produce the Cu -coated Ni amorphous composite powder. The amorphous powder and Cu nitrate solution were mixed together with a small amount of binder and then it was sprayed at temperature of $130^{\circ}C$ and rotating speed of 15,000 R.P.M.

A Study on Precuring Condition of the 2-step Manufacturing Method for PEMFC Composite Bipolar Plates (PEMFC용 복합소재 분리판을 위한 2단계 제조공법의 예비성형 조건에 대한 연구)

  • The 2-step manufacturing method consisting of preforming and stamping processes was developed to manufacture composite bipolar plates for PEMFCS. The preform was composed of expanded graphite, graphite flake and phenol resin. Procuring conditions were optimized by checking the electrical conductivity, flexural strength and microstructure. Procuring temperature $(100^{\circ}C)$ slightly above the melting point of phenol powders $(90^{\circ}C)$ induced moderate curing, but also prevented excessive curing. Preforms utilizing the tangled structure of expanded graphite were easily fabricated at low pressure of 0.07-0.28MPa. The proper procuring time, 5min, was determined to fabricate the preform stably because insufficient and excessive procuring deteriorated the flexural strength of composite bipolar plates.

  • Fire doors installed to prevent the spread of fire in buildings are made of paper honeycomb, glass wool, and other materials. Due to their high water absorption rate, they absorb ambient moisture and degrade, and their increased weight causes them to sag internally, creating voids that can warp in the event of a fire and allow flames to pass through. To overcome these issues, research is being conducted on the physical performance of lightweight aerated concrete. However, there is a lack of research on how to ensure fire resistance. Therefore, in this study, the backside temperature of lightweight aerated concrete formulations was measured and compared and analyzied with the physical performance. Since it is difficult to achieve low density by saturation alone, aerated concrete with EPS was produced, which resulted in a density reduction of 24'26%, but the strength increase per unit cement increase was 5'25%, which tended to be lower than the formulation without EPS. The results showed that the lightweight aerated concrete with EPS was 130~140℃ lower than the lightweight aerated concrete with EPS, which is believed to be due to the melting point of EPS delayed the heat diffusion. In the future, wo plan to conduct research to identify the optimal formulation for fire door core materials by varying the amount of EPS added and using industrial by-products to increase long-term strength.
