  • This study was aimed to minimize the impact force and vibration transmitted to the transporting materials from the trailer and wheel shaft by installing the leaf spring suspension device at the space between the wheel shaft and frame of power tiller trailer. The developed trailer equipped with leaf spring suspension device was compared to the existing trailer without suspension device, in order to identify the vibration absorption effect of the leaf spring. The results of this study could be summarized as follows; (1) The length and the maximum bending amount of the leaf spring were designed as 1,000 mm and 42 mm, respectively, considering the possible space for installing at below the trailer. When 4 leaf springs were installed on both wheel shafts, the allowable maximum load was identified as 9,418 N. (2) The average vibration accelerations for the frequency less than 20 Hz, where the severe transporting loss could be represented, were $0.017\;m/s^2$ and $0.133\;m/s^2$ for the developed and the existing trailer, respectively, showing the vibration absorption effect of about 87%. And the average vibration accelerations on the driver's seat for the frequency less than 20 Hz were $0.01\;m/s^2$ and $0.20\;m/s^2$ for the developed and the existing trailer, respectively, which showed the similar vibration absorption effect. (3) The change of the average vibration accelerations for the frequency from 20 Hz to 80 Hz showed the similar tendency with the result for the frequency less than 20 Hz, but the effect for developed trailer was reduced slightly. And the effect of vibration absorption for the above 80 Hz was reduced highly. However, by installing the leaf spring suspension device at the trailer, the low frequency below 40 Hz, which could affect on transporting loss severely, could be reduced highly. (4) The maximum vibration acceleration for the frequency less than 20 Hz were $0.027\;m/s^2$ and $1.267\;m/s^2$ for the developed and the existing trailer, respectively. And the change of maximum acceleration between 20 Hz and 120 Hz was showed similar tendency with the result for the frequency less than 20 Hz, but the width of change was reduced highly.

  • Vibration is one of the factors that degrades the performance of equipment and measurement equipment used in high-tech industries such as semiconductors and display. The vibration isolator is classified into passive type and active type. The passive vibration isolator has the weakness of insufficient vibration isolation performance in the low frequency band, so an active vibration control system that can overcome these problems is used recently. In this paper, PID controller is used to control the active vibration isolator. Methods for setting the gain of the PID controller include the Zeigler-Nichols method, the pole placement method. These methods have the disadvantage of requiring a lot of time or knowing the system model accurately. This paper proposes the gain auto tuning method of the active vibration isolator applied with the PSO algorithm, which is an optimization algorithm that is easy to implement and has stable convergence performance with low calculations. It is expected that it will be possible to improve vibration isolation performance and reduce the time required for gain tuning by applying the proposed PSO algorithm to the active vibration isolator.

  • In this study, the system for application of the bone stimulation was implemented using high frequency and low strain method. The whole system consists of the high frequency and low strain vibration stimulation system 177 for stimulating bone, LVDT sensor, and wireless sensor based on tri-axial accelerometer. To evaluate the usefulness of the system, the frequencies and accelerations from function generator were applied to the vibration stimulation system. The range of frequency was 17 Hz, 30 Hz, 45 Hz, 50 Hz and the range of acceleration was set 0.3 g, 0.6 g, 1g, and 2 g. The measured frequencies and acceleration using LVDT (linear variable difference transformer) sensor and 3-axial accelerometer were estimated and compared. The range of frequencies average difference was from 0.0 to 0.004 Hz. As the standard deviation of frequencies estimated by LVDT sensor and accelerometer was below 0.03 Hz and the output frequencies of function generator were similar: Also the results of t-test were satisfied with conditions of p > 0.05. And the acquired frequencies and acceleration from vibration measuring device module were estimated and analyzed. As the mean of accelerations was similar to the acceleration applied from function generator. And the standard deviation of acceleration estimated from vibration measuring device module was ranged from 0.019 g to 0.038 g. Also the results of t-test were satisfied with conditions of p > 0.05. Therefore, these results were airy similar to the acceleration applied from function generator. As a result, the usefulness of the system was confirmed. n a further study, clinical experiment will be carried out with the authorization of IRB (institutional review board) so that appropriate frequency and strain would be investigated in clinical field.

  • Model Based Compensator(MBC) is recently used for the analysis of multi-variable control in frequency domain. Target loop is designed by the demanding requirements such as cross-over frequency, disturbance rejection in low frequency domain, zero steady-state error, identification of maximum and minimum singular values and sensor noise rejection in high frequency domain. Loop transfer recovery will be continued in frequency domain until the plant with MBC comes close to the target loop. In this study, the technique using MBC is applied to the elevator vibration control system. It is found that this technique is very effective to control the vibration system.

  • Low vibration characteristics of a vehicle are mainly influenced by the local stiffness of the joint structure beam section. The method of substituting equivalent beam element to spring element for the joint is presented. Formation process of the equivalent beam joint modeling is described in terms of key section properties. To get required dynamic characteristics section properties of the equivalent beam element are set to design variables. The study shows that the equivalent beam joint model can be effectively used for low frequency vibration analysis of a vehicle.

  • This paper is concerned with the dynamic characteristics of buildings, especially with the measurement of the natural frequencies(natural periods) and the damping. Process of ambient vibration and synchronized human excitation tests for natural period and damping are given. Data from measurement on 16 reinforced concrete buildings in Seoul and Seoul national university of technology are given. 16 Low-rise Reinforced concrete buildings are measured for ambient vibration to obtain the vibrations characteristics. The natural periods obtained by ambient vibration measurements are compared with those of forecast model suggested by standards and foreign researchers. The natural periods show a clear dependence on building height. On the other hand, the damping ration scatter under the influence of various factors, for example, building height and natural frequency.

  • The Stockbridge damper is used to control the aeolian vibration of a overhead transmission line due to the natural wind under a low velocity, between 1 m/s to 7 m/s. The damper model can be simply derived with several design parameters and the location of eigenvalues of design parameters are important to determine the efficiency of energy dissipation by excitation itself with two counterweights. First, the importance of resonance frequencies of Stockbridge damper was reviewed through the analysis of frequency response function of damper system. Then, the best selection of design parameters was investigated with the introduction of objected function that minimize the distance between the calculated eigenvalues and target frequency points. The best choice of design parameters was reviewed using the simulated results from the objective function and the effectiveness of selected design case was discussed at the point view of practical implementation.
