Characteristics of Occupational Accidents by Type of Parking Lot

  • Objective: This study aims to analyze occupational accidents of parking lot attendants by parking lot type. Background: Recently, efforts are made to analyze accident characteristics by occupation type targeting the workers engaged in the same work. Method: This study analyzes 303 occupational accidents of parking lot attendants occurring from 2010 to 2012. Parking lots are grouped into two groups according to the work environment. One is public/ground type which comprises road side or open area parking lots and the other is building/mechanical type which comprises a multi-story parking building with connecting ramps and/or mechanical parking system. The characteristics of occupational accidents by parking lot type are analyzed. Results: Accident characteristics showed the difference between public/ground type and building/mechanical type on the size of enterprise, age, gender and work experience of the injured. Also the accident type, source of accident and parts of body affected are different between the two parking lot types. Conclusion and Application: The findings of accident characteristics according to parking lot types can be used as baseline data for establishing systemized preventative policies for occupational accidents of parking lot attendants.

  • The variable sampling inspection scheme with screening for the purpose of assuring the upper limit of maximum expected surplus loss after inspection has been proposed. In this inspection scheme, it has been assumed that a product lot consists of products manufactured through a single production line and lot quality characteristics follow a normal distribution. In the previous literature with respect to inspection schemes, it has been commonly assumed that lot quality characteristics obey a single normal distribution under the condition that all products are manufactured in the same condition. On the other hand, the production line is designed in order that the workload of respective processes becomes uniform from the viewpoint of line balancing. One of the solutions for the bottleneck process is to arrange the workshops in parallel. The lot quality characteristics from such a production line with the process consisting of some parallel workshops might not follow strictly the single normal distribution. Therefore, we expand an applicable scope of the above mentioned variable sampling inspection scheme with screening in this article. Concretely, we consider the variable sampling inspection with screening for the purpose of assuring the upper limit of average outgoing surplus quality loss in the production lots when the lot quality follows the mixed normal distribution.

  • The number of vehicle has been increased due to growth of economy. Consequently, the needs for parking area has been increasing. there is a serious problem in aged-apartments. It result from observing a parking lot law at that times. That is the reason why residents demand parking lot expansion. Parking lot addition is being studied on a lots different standpoint to solve the present parking lot condition. Parking lot expansion is limited by housing complex characteristics. This study analyzed the housing complex characteristics of aged-apartment. It is analyzed that the number of house holders, distance between buildings, and level of site for finding housing complex characteristics. The result are as follows. the complex lower than 300 households is about 35% in the Number of households. The buildings which has a moving distance from 41m to 50 is nearly 23%. Them the 멕스둣 house located on the flat is 82%. This study will become a reference data for the parking lot expansion.

Numerical Simulation on Ventilation Characteristics of an Underground Bus Parking Lot (버스전용 지하주차장의 환기 특성에 관한 수치해석적 연구)

  • In this paper, the ventilation characteristics of an underground parking lot with 17 buses has been investigated for two cases by computational fluid dynamics. It has been found that the average concentration of CO and $NO_x$ gas in the parking lot were 1.3 and 0.3 ppm respectively, when four buses operated. When the fifteen vehicles stopped in the parking lot, the average concentration of CO and $NO_x$ gas was 2.9 and 0.8 ppm respectively. The average concentration of two pollutants$(CO,\;NO_x)$ are lower than the standard values. Therefore the facilities and its location is proper to ventilation.

  • In this paper we study the decision rule for the amount of purchasing materials according to the fraction defective in the single sampling inspection by attributes based on operating characteristics. In deciding the amount of purchasing materials, it is important that we ought to occupy the practical purchasing amount, considering the fraction defective of the lot in acceptance inspection, because the acceptance probability is variant with the fraction defective of the lot.

  • This characteristics of process industries are high capital intensity, relatively long and sequence dependent setup times, and extremely limited capacity resources. The lot sizing, sequencing and limited capacity resources factors must he considered for production scheduling in these industries. This paper presents a mixed integer programming model for production scheduling. The economic trade offs between capacitated lot sizing flow shop scheduling and sequence dependent setup times also be compared with SMITH-DANIELS's model. As a results, it is shown that this paper has lower total cost, more efficient throughput than SMITH-DANIELS's model.

  • This is on-going project planned from June to August, 2003 for the development of sub-urban housing of 108 buildings on 30,000 pyung lot located in Dochuk-myun, Kwangju-si, Kyunggi-do. The Site is consist of 10 different building sizes ranging from 45pyung to 65pyung on 180 to 220pyung lot. Buyers can customize their types and functions based on given sizes. Most sub-urban housing until now was based on typical planning and had no regard for its characteristics of diverse location. To solve these problems, I designed each types according to its locational characteristics and gave each lot flexible shape to have identities. To take advantage of its undulation, I put playground and sports facilities like swimming pool and tennis court at the approach. Central square to the center and park and observatory to the top

Effects of Roots Powder of Balloonflowers on General Composition and Quality Characteristics of Sulgidduk (도라지 분말이 설기떡의 일반성분 및 품질특성에 미치는 영향)

  • The general composition like moisture content, and the physical and sensory characteristics of the steamed rice cake added with powder of roots of balloonflowers were as follows. The moisture content in the roots was 4.13${\pm}$0.01%, crude protein 9.24${\pm}$0.11%, crude fat 3.07${\pm}$0.04%, crude fiber 33.82${\pm}$0.01%, and crude ash 8.16${\pm}$0.02%. The moisture content of the cake was decreased with increase of the root’s powder added. In physical characteristic, the hardness of the cake was increased with increase of the powder. The control cake was the highest in the cohesiveness. The springiness tended to be increased with increase of the powder. The gumminess was higher with increase of the powder, being 530.33% in the control and 284.44% in the sample with 12.0% powder added. The adhesiveness was decreased with increase of the powder. The color change was significantly decreased with increase of the powder. With increase of the powder, the value a was decreased, while the value b showed to be increased. In a sensory test, the favorite degree to color, flavor, bitter taste, moistness, soft-ness and overall acceptability was measured to get the follow result. To color, the lot with 6% of the balloonflower powder added showed the highest accept-ability with the same highest result also to flavor and bitter taste. The moistness and the softness were revealed as the highest at the control, and the chewiness was also highest at the lot with 3% of the powder added. The overall acceptability was highest as 5.75 at the lot with 6% of the powder added, coming out to be higher in order of the 3% added-lot, the control, the 9%-lot and the 12%-lot.

The Study on Parking Lots Management according to Off-Street Parking Lots Characteristics : Focusing on Residential Development District (노외주차장 특성이 주차장 운영여부에 미치는 영향분석 : 택지사업지구를 중심으로)

  • Automobiles and parking lots have greatly been increased by the continuous development of new towns and residential districts. There were not enough parking lots; and although there were off-street parking lots available for sale, they were not easily sold. Through a parking regulation, local governments can require parking spaces for more than a certain rate in developing areas. Despite local governments should require parking spaces within the parking demand and regulation, they did not investigate parking demands. Off-street parking spaces are not easy to sell because they don't consider the parking demand. In this study, we analyzed the factors that affect the parking management in order to increase sales of the off-street parking. The factors were "the characteristics of the parking lots", "the accessibility of the off-street parking", and "the traffic environment around off-street parking." We have derived suggestions for these factors. In addition, this study has derived nine variables affecting the parking operation in these three factors, and suggested a logistic regression model and the influence of each factors. According to the analysis, "parking signs" were the most influential. Next were "land uses" and "lanes on road".

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the formation and change of road-block-lot of the old inner city in cheongju The result of this study are as follows; (I)Among others a system roads of in around the old castle in cheongju city is most of feature north and south direction of road. Lot system is organic relations of north and south direction of road. Therefore, urban tissue in around the old castle in cheongju city is established order road system keep on the change of expansion urban tissue. (2) Block type classified into non-division, 2division and over 3division. (3) The square block remains mostly in Cheongju old castle, two-division block was around south of castle. And block of the grid-form street system divided into over 3 division. Through the guideline about characteristic of block type, residential area should be developed as a characteristics area in the urban area.
