  • Offset parabolic antenna have been widely used for satellite communication system. To locate feedhorn on antenna system, it requires arbitrary structure which forces to fix on system. However, arbitrary scatterer increases sidelobe level of elevation axis. To solve this problem, we need to predict which angle level is increased by arbitrary scatterer simply. Because conventional simulation method takes a long time to simulate parabolic antenna system and needs exclusive software. In this paper we can calculate sidelobe angle simply by using raytracing method, check coincidence between calculated and simulated result and show how arbitrary scatterer affects sidelobe lavel of elevation axis of offset parabolic antenna depending on angle and location of arbitrary structure.

  • Green landscape plan to the riverfront area of the Han River The Han River, one of the symbolic elements in metropolitan Seoul, structures an axis of waterscape as the openspace crossing east to west of the city of Seoul. As riverside urban motorway(88 Olympic motorway) and riverside public park were constructed by the Han River Comprehensive Development Project in 1986, the necessity of general plan for the in-stallation of envirommental facility belt to conserve living enviroument is being required with relation to, dense residential areas closed to the river Therefore, the goal of the study is to provide better riverview and to increase environmental purifi-cation ability as a large scale waterscape axis by the preparation of landscape plan to the riverfront area of Han River, In order to achieve the goal, the study deals with sectional speciality, the introduction of landscape assessment techniques and ecological approach to given environment. As unity is kept through whole waterfront area, the area is divided into 9 zoning sections to study development methods for each section, and themes for speciality are given to each section, and the. sort of plants which can be symboliged to the area is selected. Also, the planting methods for harmony with the type of road structure and riverscape is offered. Though the study may give significane to the image and the function of riverside road, in con-clusion, the characteristic ecological approach to the river is so limited that has not been reflected enough on the plan. It is expected that the study should be continued, and long-term riverfront openspace plan, environmentally sustainable, should be arepared.

  • The propagation of light radiation in a turbid medium is an important problem that confronts dosimetry of therapeutic laser delivery and the development of diagnostic spectroscopy. Scattered light is measured as a function of the position(distance r, depth z) between the axis of the incident beam and the detection spot. Turbid sample yields a very forward-directed scattering pattern at short range of position from source to detector, whereas the thicker samples greatly attenuated the on-axis intensity at long range of position. The portions of scattered light reflected from or transmitted throughphantom depend upon internal reflectance and absorption properties of the phantom. Monte Carlo simulation method for modelling light transport in tissue is applied. It uses the photon is moved a distance where it may be scattered, absorbed, propagated, internally reflected, or transmitted out of tissue. The photon is repeatedly moved until it either escape from or is absorbed by the phantom. In order to obtain an optimum therapeutic ratio in phantom material, optimum control the light energy fluence rate is essential. This study is to discuss the physical mechanisms determining the actual light dose in phantom. Permitting a qualitative understanding of the measurements. It may also aid in designing the best model for laser medicine and application of medical engineering.

  • An accurate analytical equation for the total energy in the framework of the single domain model is used to study the thermal stability of nanostructured synthetic ferrimagnets. Elliptical cells are considered that have lateral dimensions of 160 nm (long axis)$\times$80 nm (short axis) and varying values of thickness asymmetry for the two magnetic layers. The direction of the applied magnetic field, which points to the $45^{\circ}$ direction, is in the opposite direction to the thicker layer magnetization. A significant difference is observed in the applied magnetic field dependencies of the equilibrium magnetic configuration and the magnetic energy barrier when using the simplifying assumption that the self-demagnetizing field is identical in magnitude to the dipole field. At a small thickness asymmetry of 0.2 nm, for example, the magnetic energy barrier is reduced from 68 kT (T=300 K) to 6 kT at the remanent state and a progressive switching behavior changes into a critical behavior, as the simplifying assumption is used. The present results clearly demonstrate the need for an accurate analytical equation for the total energy in predicting the thermal stability of nanostructured synthetic ferrimagnets.

  • Currently, the multi-residential apartments used in Korea are mostly bearing wall apartments which don't satisfy consumers for the lack of architectural plan flexibility. And due to remodelling-incompatible, bearing wall apartments have to be reconstructed. It is, thus, necessary to develop multi-residential apartments utilizing composite beam that can replace the conventional bearing wall-type apartment buildings. Composite beams proposed in this paper ensure modification of space and quality control, while the floor heights are maintained at the same floor height as in bearing wall structures. This study analyzes the experimental behavior of composite beams with proper combination of structural steel, reinforced concrete, and precast concrete. By comparing with the theoretical analysis and experimental results, the accuracy of flexural moment capacity and neutral axis was evaluated. The experiments were performed by two simply-supported specimens using loading and unloading. When the analysis results were compared with the experimental results, the flexural moment capacity of the composite beam was shown with an error of approximately -0.5 to 0.1% at the maximum load limit state.

  • Koreasat spacecraft requires accurate and reliable attitude control to provide beam pointing for tenyear long communication and direction broadcasting services. This paper describes the detailed design and performance of an on-orbit normal mode attitude control subsystem for the spacecraft. Koreasat used a momentum wheel which has nominal momentum 475in-1b sec(547.6cm-kg sec) aligned with the pitch axis to control pitch attitude and provide gyroscopic stiffness in roll/yaw plane and used a 300 atm magnetic torquer to control the roll and yaw attitudes. An Earth Sensor Assembly (ESA) is used to provide pitch and roll information for the on-board micropocessor. The roll/yaw control used bang-off-bang control and while pitch axis control used proportional and integral control law. Control system errors during the operational normal mode are 0.03 deg, 0.1 deg and 0.01 deg in roll, yaw and pitch axes, respectively. Current attitude control system provides adequate control performances to capture initial attitude errors and spacecraft nutation.

  • In this paper, we propose a new method of finding the true length of the line and long axis of the ellipse at the $\theta$=$\theta$o+ 90$^{\circ}$ and short axis of the ellipse at the $\theta$ = $\theta$o from the Hough transform (HT) results. Through the simulations, we showed that the true length of the line and ellipse could be obtained with 98 % accuracy by using the distance from the maximum envelope to the minimum envelope. To compare the simulation results with the experimental results, we performed optical experiments by using a HT CGH filter. Through the experiments, we showed that our results were very similar to those of the simulation.

  • Underwater vehicles use Inertial Navigation System (INS) with high-performance Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) for high precision navigation. However, when underwater navigation is performed for a long time, the INS error gradually diverges, therefore, an integrated navigation method using auxiliary sensors is used to solve this problem. In terms of underwater vehicles, the vertical axis error is primarily compensated through Vertical Channel Damping (VCD) using a depth gauge, and an integrated navigation filter can be designed to perform horizontal axis error and sensor error correction using a speedometer such as Electromagnetic-Log (EM-Log). However, since EM-Log outputs the forward direction relative speed of the vehicle with respect to the sea and sea current, INS correction filter using this may cause a rather large error. Although it is possible to design proper filters if the exact model of the sea current is known, it is impossible to know the accurate model in reality. Therefore, this study proposes an INS/EM-Log integrated navigation filter with the function to estimate sea current using an Interacting Multiple Model (IMM) filters, and the performance of this filter is analyzed through a simulation performed in various environments.

  • Generally, underwater unmanned vehicle have adopted an inertial navigation system (INS), dead reckoning (DR), acoustic navigation and geophysical navigation techniques as the navigation method because GPS does not work in deep underwater environment. Even if the tactical inertial sensor can provide very detail measurement during long operation time, it is not suitable to use the tactical inertial sensor for small size and low cost UUV because the tactical inertial sensor is expensive and large. One alternative to INS is attitude heading reference system (AHRS) with the micro-machined electro mechanical system (MEMS) inertial sensor because of MEMS inertial sensor's small size and low power requirement. A cost effective and small size attitude heading reference system (AHRS) which incorporates measurements from 3-axis micro-machined electro mechanical system (MEMS) gyroscopes, accelerometers, and 3-axis magnetometers has been developed to provide a complete attitude solution for UUV. The AHRS based MEMS overcome many problems that have inhibited the adoption of inertial system for small UUV such as cost, size and power consumption. Several evaluation experiments were carried out for the validation of the developed AHRS's function and these experiments results are presented. Experiments results prove the fact that the developed MEMS AHRS satisfied the required specification.

  • Y123 films have been deposited on $LaAlO_3$ (100) single-crystal and IBAD substrates by spray pyrolysis method using nitrate precursors. Ultrasonic atomization was adopted to decrease the droplet size, spraying angle and its moving velocity toward substrate for introducing the preheating tube furnace in appropriate location. A small preheating tube furnace was installed between spraying nozzle and substrate for fast drying and enhanced decomposition of precursors. C-axis oriented films were obtained on both LAO and IBAD substrates at deposition temperature of around $710{\sim}750^{\circ}C$ and working pressures of 10~15 torr. Thick c-axis epitaxial film with the thickness of $0.3{\sim}0.6\;{\mu}m$ was obtained on LAO single-crystal by 10 min deposition. But the XRD results of the film deposited on IBAD template at same deposition condition showed that the buffer layers of the IBAD metal substrate was affected by long residence of metal substrate at high temperature for YBCO deposition.
