  • 우리나라에서의 철도는 도로교통에 비해 수송분담율이 상대적으로 낮지만, 2001년을 기준으로 1년 동안 824만 명을 수송하여 전체 여객 수송량의 약 6.2 %를 차지하고 있다. 최근 연구결과 비도로용으로 사용되고 있는 디젤엔진이 NOx와 입자상 오염물질 배출의 주요한 오염원으로 밝혀졌다. 국내외적으로 대기오염원 중 자동차나 트럭 등 도로용 차량에서 배출되는 오염물질에 대해서는 오래 전부터 관심을 기울여 왔지만, 디젤기관차, 선박 및 경작, 건설, 벌목, 채굴 장비 등을 포함하는 비도로용 이동오염원에 의한 오염물질 배출제어에 관해서는 논의가 거의 이루어진 적이 없었다. Modeling Dynamic Business Rules using A Dynamic Knowledge Approach

  • Business Rules are formal statements about the data and processes of an enterprise. They present projections of the organization's constraints and ways of working on their supporting information systems. Therefore, their collection, structuring and organization should be central activities within information systems. In an enterprise, business rules are used to represent certain aspects of a business domain (static rules) or business policy (dynamic rules). Hence, regarding problem domains in the organization, business rules are classified into two groups: static and dynamic business rules. The paper introduces a new concept of business rules, Extended Dynamic Business Rule (EDBR) which contains the results of the occurrence of business rule's action. The focus of this paper is in the organizing, defining and modeling of such business rules using Mineau's approach. Mineau's approach is an extension of Sowa's Conceptual Graph theory.

  • Virtual reality (VR) technologies, which have been improved of late, offer experiences closer to reality than before. While VR technologies are expected to be an effective medium if used in learning content that cannot be offered in real life, distraction factors in VR technologies may prevent the users' presence and flow, making these technologies ineffective. Therefore, this study, through experiment and observation, analyzed the effect of distraction factors on the user's experience perception and learning effect when using HMD-based immersive VR. Experimental results revealed that the distraction factors were shown to have a negative, albeit not generally significant (except for tactile interactivity), effect on vividness, tactile interactivity, locomotive interactivity, presence, and flow. Ultimately, they were shown to have a negative effect on learning.

The Methods to Increase the Connection between KTX and Traditional Trains (고속철도와 기존철도의 연계증진방안)

  • The Korean Train eXpress(KTX) which started in last April has got many complaints of passengers. This is caused by weak connections between KTX and traditional trains. This paper shows the methods to increase the connection in 3 points of view; business, operation and rolling stocks. For the flexible business, it is necessary that the connecting trains must be multi-purposefully for the satisfaction of KTX transferring passengers and existing commuting passengers. And the expanding of free class is needed. A free class is the base of business flexibility. In an operation point of view, I show the method that can decrease pains for getting transfer. Finally, for the effective using of rolling stocks, I propose that TC(trailer with control) car is added to existing locomotive and passenger coach set. In concluding, KTX needs strong connections with traditional trains. This will bring more competitive power with other transportation systems. And that method must get flexible and various service, in addition to effective and minimizing investment.

  • Korean mobile communications industry has been a main locomotive of the drastic development of Korean IT industry and became one of core industries in national economy. To secure strong competitiveness of mobile communications industry, smooth cooperation should be reconsidered among government, universities, research institutions, and private companies. Future mobile communications technology will be evolved from IMT-2000 to system upgrade, 3.5G and 4G. And the goals of technology development are provision of mobile multimedia services based on better mobility and higher data speed rates. Therefore, Korea's technology development strategies of mobile communications should be focused on intensifying bondage of international cooperation, strengthening standardization activities, and enhancing core technology development capability to secure IPR.

  • The coordinated mechanism of terrestrial vertebrates enables them to maneuver over all of the terrain conditions since they have a distinct ability to adapt to varying conditions. Their locomotions remain infinitely more advanced and elegant than that of present-day existing mechanical walking robots. However, the principles of existing walking robots are based more on technical rather than on biological concepts, yielding unstable locomotion with low speed. In order to apply these advanced biological phenomena to the mechanical design of 4-legged walking robot, modeling methods are introduced and mathematical equations are also introduced.

  • In electrical railway system, power supplied to electrical locomotive by catenary is returned to sub-station on track. The current returned to sub-station on track is return current, which is an essential factor for the safety of the wayside electrical equipment and maintenance staff. Therefore, earth system acts an important role to protect wayside electrical equipment and maintenance staff against return current. In general, individual earth system protects partially the electrical railway system, but common earth system does the whole electrical railway system and minimizes the flow of return current. In this paper, we are compared the effect of return current according to earth type by actual measurement in existing electrical railway system. The measurement was conducted at Shinchungju sub~station in high speed trains, and Guro sub-station, which is electrified section in classical line.

  • Colonoscopy is an important medical procedure for the diagnosis of various diseases like cancers in the colon and rectum. But it requires a lot of time for a doctor to acquire dexterous skills necessary to perform successful colonoscopy. Moreover, to many patients, conventional colonoscopy simply takes too long time. Therefore, some studies on the development of autonomous and more convenient colonoscope are carried out. In this Paper, we Propose a functional colonoscope robot system that has a locomotive function with a hollow body, a steering system, and other basic functions of typical conventional colonoscope systems. The concept and each component of the functional colonoscope system are described in this paper. In order to evaluate the functional performance of the colonoscope robot, we carried out in -vitro and in-vivo tests.

The Evaluation of Interior Noise for Domestic Trains (국내 여객열차 실내소음 평가)

  • In this study, we measured and analyzed the interior noise, the rolling noise and the engine noise at Honam line(Seodaejeon- Jangseong) for passenger and power cars. The noise level is below 69㏈A for Seamaeul PMC(Powered Motor Car) coachs, below 65㏈A for Seamaeul and Mukungwha coachs, over 80㏈A for the driver's room of PMC and DEL (Diesel-Electric Locomotive). We also proposed the criteria of interior noise in free field conditions, below 67㏈A for passenger cars, below 86㏈A for power cars.

  • Investigation on the dynamic behavior of railway bridges has not performed widely to date except high-speed railway bridges. In this study, 3-dimensional model is used for the finite element analysis of plate girder railway bridges. Train loads obtained through statistical approach of the measured true train loads are used. Numerical analysis is carried out about a 18m-span bridge. This result is compared with that of the experimental test of existing plate gilder railway bridge without ballast. The good agreement was obtained through the comparison. Judging from the analysis, resonant speed of diesel locomotive train is about 120km/h. However, the resonance for the other train is not found from the analysis.
