An Efficient Location Tracking Method for Mobile Agent Communication (이동 에이전트 통신을 위한 효율적인 위치 추적 방법)

  • The provision of location tracking for mobile agents is designed to deliver a message to a moving object in a network. Most tracking methods exploit relay stations that hold location information to forward messages to a target mobile agent. In this paper, we propose an efficient location tracking method for mobile agents using the domain-based proxy as a relay station. Mobile agents can reduce the length of their migration paths by visiting hosts in the same domain first, rather than selecting hosts randomly. The proposed method exploits the domain-based moving patterns of mobile agents and minimizes registration and message delivery costs. Since the long proxy chain can contribute to the high message delivery cost, we also propose a compressing method to reduce the message delivery cost.

  • This paper embodies the agent based cinder monitoring system which supports PDA{Personal Digital Assistant). Monitoring system automatically manages data by using data managing agents such as a state managing agent, a location managing agent, a badness managing agent, a circumstances managing agent, etc, and uses a massive data processing agent to manage massive data. The development of agent based data monitoring system for the stable cinder reuse will be an epoch-making method to develop the process mechanized or manual-labored that widely spreads into the real-time automated process.

  • To make service location protocol of IETF which is to be used in the wide area network to discover the location of desired service when computing resources are connected to the network, and to support simless connectivity between wired and wireless network in service viewpoint, to support the diversity trend of service agents in WIF, it needs to improve SLP, so as to add Liaison Agent and Forwarding Agent with FAAdvert message that is to communicate in between those entities. LA entity confirms the location of service located in wide area network, and FA transfers service information. The usage of existing messages such as SrvRqst, SrvRply, AttrRqst, AttrRply, DAAdvert, SrvReg, SrvAck, SrvDeReg is same as ever in wide area service network. The behaviors of improved protocol is modeled into petri-net and prove that it is free of deadlock and live-lock by execution of the model.

  • This paper presents a distance relaying algorithm for phase-to-ground faults in transmission lines under Multi-Agent protection environment. In normal condition, a distance relay agent stores the latest states, e.g., voltage of source side, voltage of the opposite side and the loading conditions, etc., through communication between the agents. Once a fault occurs, the relay calculates the fault location using the knowledge about the states just before the fault happens. This stand-alone operation is to improve reliability under the fault condition at which the accuracy or time required for communication may not be guaranteed. The mathematical expression of fault location is derived through loop analysis, before hand, in the manner that both fault current from the opposite end and fault resistance are included implicitly so that their effects are minimized. The suggested algorithm is applied to a typical transmission system with two power sources on both ends to show its effectiveness.

  • This study considers paging schemes that can page some cells or only one cell within the location area to reduce paging cost by using PAs (Paging Agents) and compares their performances by using a new analytic method. There are three ways of paging schemes using PAs; BSPA (Base Staton Paging Agent), 2SPA (2-Step Paging Agent), LAPA (Location Area Paging Agent). This study proposes exact performance of BSPA and 2SPA using a new analytic method based on Markov chain modeling to find the most efficient paging scheme. Numerical results for various circumstances are presented by using proposed analytic method to select a proper paging scheme in mobile communication networks.

  • A routing protocol in mobile ad hoc networks is important, and a location based routing has attracted attention. We have proposed a method, in which plural mobile agents (MA) manage location information and construct a route and the number of MA dynamically changes depending on the network situation. However, the area where each MA manages is not always appropriate. This would increase the network load due to unnecessary split and mergence of MAs. To solve this problem, in this paper, we propose an enhanced method. In this method, the MA management area is properly determined based on distribution of nodes. From the performance evaluation, we show that the proposed method outperforms conventional methods in terms of packet delivery rate when network load is high.

  • Recently, a demand of adaptive multimedia service, which supports multimedia service migration according to user's location and characteristics of user device, is increased. In this paper, we propose a service migration system, which becomes aware of user device using intelligent agent. And we design and implement the ontology-based intelligent agent, which is aware of the context in its environment. Moreover, we implement a context reasoning system using location information.

Development of a English Vocabulary Context-Learning Agent based on Smartphone (스마트폰 기반 영어 어휘 상황학습 에이전트 개발)

  • Recently, mobile application for english vocabulary learning is being developed actively. However, most mobile English vocabulary learning applications did not effectively connected with the technical advantages of mobile learning. Also,the study of mobile english vocabulary learning app are still insufficient. Therefore, this paper development a english vocabulary context-learning Agent that can practice context learning more reasonably using a location-based service, a character recognition technology and augmented reality technology based on smart phones. In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed agent, we have measured the precision and usability. As results of experiments, the precision of learning vocabulary is 89% and 'Match between system and the real world', 'User control and freedom', 'Recognition rather than recall', 'Aesthetic and minimalist design' appeared to be respectively 3.91, 3.80, 3.85, 4.01 in evaluation of usability. It were obtained significant results.

  • In this paper we introduce a design and implementation of an agent for multimedia retrieval and personalized broadcasting service. It is compliant with TV Anytime Forum specifications and supports searching location resolving, storing and streaming of remote multimedia contents. For this service, we implemented a contents server, a 메타데이터 database server, a location resolution server and a client terminal is implemented The Client terminal gathers content information by SOAP of operation, and it has a user preference module and usage history module that make user information. The personalize service agent recommends suitable contents to user by similarity algorithm.

  • Due to limited radio resource, an effective paging strategy is essential for improving the utility of radio channels. In current mobile communication networks, when a mobile-terminated call occurs, the network locates the mobile by paging all cells within the location area simultaneously. In this study, we introduces paging strategies that can page some cells or only one cell within the location area to reduce paging cost on radio channels using paging agents. We propose another new paging strategy that can page only one cell within the location area and may have better performance. We also compare the performance of our proposed paging strategy with the performance of the current simultaneous paging strategy and some new paging strategies using paging agents. This paper suggests the most effective paging strategy using mathematical models. The result of this research will be used to select a proper paging strategy in the mobile communication networks.
