In this paper, we analyze the location accuracy of real-time locating systems (RTLSs) in multipath environments in which the RTLSs comply with the ISO/IEC 24730-2 international standard. To analyze the location error of RTLS in multipath environments, we consider a direct path and indirect path, in which time and phase are delayed, and also white Gaussian noise is added. The location error depends strongly on both the noise level and phase difference under a low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) regime, but only on the noise level under a high SNR regime. The phase difference effect can be minimized by matching it to the time delay difference at a ratio of 180 degrees per 1 chip time delay (Tc). At a relatively high SNR of 10 dB, a location error of less than 3 m is expected at any phase and time delay value of an indirect signal. At a low SNR regime, the location error range increases to 8.1 m at a 0.5 Tc, and to 7.3 m at a 1.5 Tc. However, if the correlation energy is accumulated for an 8-bit period, the location error can be reduced to 3.9 m and 2.5 m, respectively.
Solving the disclosure problem of sensitive information with the k-nearest neighbor query, location dummy technique, or interfering data in location-based services (LBSs) is a new research topic. Although they reduced security threats, previous studies will be ineffective in the case of sparse users or K-successive privacy, and additional calculations will deteriorate the performance of LBS application systems. Therefore, a model is proposed herein, which is based on geohash-encoding technology instead of latitude and longitude, memcached server cluster, encryption and decryption, and authentication. Simulation results based on PHP and MySQL show that the model offers approximately 10× speedup over the conventional approach. Two problems are solved using the model: sensitive information in LBS application is not disclosed, and the relationship between an individual and a track is not leaked.
Sign-in point of interest (POI) are extremely sparse in location-based social networks, hindering recommendation systems from capturing users' deep-level preferences. To solve this problem, we propose a content-aware POI recommendation algorithm based on a convolutional neural network. First, using convolutional neural networks to process comment text information, we model location POI and user latent factors. Subsequently, the objective function is constructed by fusing users' geographical information and obtaining the emotional category information. In addition, the objective function comprises matrix decomposition and maximisation of the probability objective function. Finally, we solve the objective function efficiently. The prediction rate and F1 value on the Instagram-NewYork dataset are 78.32% and 76.37%, respectively, and those on the Instagram-Chicago dataset are 85.16% and 83.29%, respectively. Comparative experiments show that the proposed method can obtain a higher precision rate than several other newer recommended methods.
Recently, in according as rapid improvement of telecommunication markets and wireless internet technology, Location- Based Services (LBS) have been discussed as new 'Killer' application. The purpose of LBS is to determine location of user through mobile handset and to offer location information service to end-user. This paper has suggested an efficient transmission scheme of maps data as one of the important content services relating to data transmission of LBS in mobile environment. The basic system consists of three parts : (1) GIS (Geographic Information System) Server for storing, processing and handling map data, (2) Middleware Server for transmitting of map data by request of client, and (3) Client for requesting map data to Server and displaying them on handset. Also, in order to transmit map data, we are to expand WKB (Well Known Binary) in conformance to Simple Feature Specification of OGC (Open GIS Consortium), and increase efficiency of data transmission by developing trans mission data format to be able to transmit lightweight data and considering data compression technology.
In this paper, the uAPSS(u-APartment Service System) that is based on location-aware technology is designed and implemented for a luxury apartment. On the real luxury apartment the developed system has been employed and tested to provide convenient and secure living for residents. It provides services such as emergency call, intelligent elevator operation, and hands-free door access based on the location of the residents with personal device as called smart tag. It can also be applied to other service areas such as the location-aware u-Service for hospitals, high-rising complex buildings, silver towns, etc.

Location detection technology (LDT) is one of the core techniques for location based service (LBS) in wireless communication for improving resource management and quality of services. The location of a mobile station (MS) is estimated using the time of arrival (TOA) technique based on three circles with centers corresponding to coordinates of three base stations (BSs) and radius corresponding to distances between MS and BSs. For accurately estimating the location of MS, three circles should meet at a point for the trilateration method, but they generally do not meet a point because the radius is increased depending on the number of time delay for estimating the distance between MS and BS and the carrier frequency. The increased three circles intersect at six points and the three intersection points among them should be generally placed close to coordinate of the location for the specific MS. In this paper, we propose the shortest distance algorithm for TOA trilateration method, to select three interior intersection points from entire six points. The proposed approach selects three intersection points with the shortest distances between coordinates of MS and intersection points and determines the averaged coordinate of the selected three points, as the location of the specific MS. We demonstrate the performance of the proposed algorithm using a typical computer simulation example.

This study developed a design to estimate the location of rescue demander using the sound system at disaster site, in the conditions of indoor positioning cannot be performed properly. It is a location tracing system through smart phone application. It generates sound wave information of rescuer at the rescue site, and it can be used as assistant means for indoor location tracing at the disaster site using sound wave receiving measurement technology.

In this paper, we propose an HMD-AR interaction system that combines optical camera communication to provide location-based service for tourists in Jeonju Hanok Village. The proposed system receives optical camera communication data from Light infrastructure existing in Jeonju Hanok Village and provides service through ID information along with its own location information. We researched optical camera communication technology and smart device based HMD-AR system and constructed the actual HMD-AR system and tested it. The proposed system is expected that it will be applied to various tourist attractions by utilizing the proposed system in the future, and it is expected to be used as a valuable feedback for smart device based HMD-AR.
Unlike GPS, which is an outdoor positioning technology that is universally and uniformly used all over the world, various technologies are still being developed in the field of indoor positioning technology. In order to acquire accurate indoor location information, a standard of representative indoor positioning technology is required. Recently, indoor positioning technology is expanding into the Real Time Location Service (RTLS) area based on high-precision location data. Accordingly, a new type of indoor positioning technology is being proposed. Thanks to the development of artificial intelligence, artificial intelligence-based indoor positioning technology using wireless signal data of a smartphone is rapidly developing. At this time, in the process of collecting data necessary for artificial intelligence learning, data that is distorted or inappropriate for learning may be included, resulting in lower indoor positioning accuracy. In this study, we propose a data preprocessing technology for artificial intelligence learning to obtain improved indoor positioning results through the refinement process of the collected data.

With the development of IoT and artificial intelligence, location-based services are getting more and more attention. For solving the current problem that indoor positioning error is large and generalization is poor, this paper proposes a Model Stacking Algorithm for Indoor Positioning System using WiFi fingerprinting. Firstly, we adopt a model stacking method based on Bayesian optimization to predict the location of indoor targets to improve indoor localization accuracy and model generalization. Secondly, Taking the predicted position based on model stacking as the observation value of particle filter, collaborative particle filter localization based on model stacking algorithm is realized. The experimental results show that the algorithm can control the position error within 2m, which is superior to KNN, GBDT, Xgboost, LightGBM, RF. The location accuracy of the fusion particle filter algorithm is improved by 31%, and the predicted trajectory is close to the real trajectory. The algorithm can also adapt to the application scenarios with fewer wireless access points.
